Great adventure!

The crew really cares about the guest experience - they work super hard day-in and day out to ensure dive plans go smoothly. The dining crew is very detail-oriented and crafty -very talented chefs and artisans. The boat crew was highly attentive, always willing to help with gear and getting on/off the dive boat. The dive guides were very knowledgable - I am relatively new to diving and while this boat does not require as many logged dives as other liveaboards, experience with drift diving / currents before going on the trip will help make the most of the trip.

Amazing Liveaboard Experience

The majority of dives in the Deep South route consisted of channel dives, hunting for pelagic creatures. I saw a huge number of sharks, as well as other incredible creatures such as the eagle ray, manta ray, barracudas, dolphins, and plenty of turtles. The shark feeding dives and the dive at tiger zoo were incredible; multiple tiger sharks came right up to my face. We spent two nights trying to attract a whale shark to the boat but were unsuccessful. We also tried to search for hammerhead sharks on a few dives but were unable to spot them. Although a bit disappointing for some, I wasn't too bothered. Given my limited diving experience, before this trip I hadn't seen a shark before, and being able to swim with sharks on almost every dive was enough of a magical experience for me. Seeing a whale shark would be an icing on the cake. I understand that the central atolls route have dedicated whale shark and hammerhead shark dive spots which may provide a much higher chance of seeing them. Channel dives are more challenging and exciting, often with (very) strong currents, requiring a greater level of experience. I was perhaps the least experienced diver on the boat, but I felt very well supported by both my dive guide Teseo (who is also the dive director of the boat) and my fellow divers, some of whom are dive instructors. We did dive some locations multiple times (Villigili Kandu was done 4 times), however it's an amazing dive site where I was literally surrounded by sharks. During the week, there was an amazing beach BBQ arranged by the crew on a deserted island, and the crew did arrange excursions to islands during the day when appropriate. One day before lunch, a huge pod of dolphins was spotted and the crew took some of us on the speedboat to see them. Although the initial price of this liveaboard is cheaper than others, anything extra is given for an additional price. This includes any drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), all gear rental, nitrox, beach BBQ, tiger zoo entry fee, larger tanks, extra dives. The final bill I paid at the end of the week is over 30% of the cost of the liveaboard. The boat itself was very comfortable, and the room I had was spacious. The boat was not at full capacity and there was one spare bed in my room. I believe part of what makes an amazing liveaboard experience is the fellow divers onboard. I was able to meet lots of lovely people and we had a good time between the dives. The food was delicious, with freshly caught seafood and a birthday cake for another guest onboard. Overall, being my first liveaboard experience, I was impressed with the quality of the dives and the service onboard the cruise and the diving dhoni. I look forward to joining them again in future adventures.

Misleading Itinerary - Amazing Crew

The highlights were amazing highlights - we saw a whale shark, the guides took us to incredible dive sites, and they worked tirelessly to make sure we had a memorable trip. However, my biggest frustration was that the itinerary was incredibly misleading. We spent the first night and the last two nights in the port of Male. I understood the first night, as we were waiting for two guests to arrive who flew in relatively late. But the last *two* nights when the itinerary had specifically mentioned other areas was a massive disappointment. We paid an exorbitant amount of money for this trip, and the itinerary should have been what was described or similar. The adaptations were unrelated to weather; they were because a big group was coming on the boat immediately after us, so the company needed to prepare for their arrival. While I understand the logistical complications, it should NOT have been at our expense. The entire boat was disappointed by the fact that three of our seven nights were in the port of Male.

Outstanding and unforgettable!

Variety of dives are excellent on Central Atolls tour...mix of deep channels with strong currents and pelagics, sheltered reefs with vibrant corals and large schools of reef fish, stingray/shark feeding dives (insane!), manta night dive, wall dives, drift dives, and snorkelling with a whale shark to top it off. Truly amazing. Trips between dives to gorgeous island and a picture perfect sandbank plus a beach bbq party which the crew make very special. Early starts every day but then dives spaced out so plenty of sunbathing and relaxing time on surface intervals. Healthiest food I've ever had on a holiday! Good variety and all tasty. Daily room service and super attentive staff. Highly proficient dive staff. I had a junior suite and it was HUGE! I also went as a solo traveller expecting to share and ended up having it to myself. TV in room had screen cast not that I used it much... was never bored. Lived like a King! Multiple seating areas spread all over boat, could always find somewhere for solo time. I definitely recommend this boat and would go again in a heartbeat. Teseo dive director is kind, patient, works really hard to give you an amazing trip. Perfect person for the job and like a fish in the water! My ONLY criticism is the rental fins. They're very flimsy and do not deliver powerful kicks. For most dives, fine, but there are strong currents on some and I was really having to exert myself to keep close to the group and my buddy. Not fun. I'm in OK fitness, deeply regretted not buying and bringing a good pair. If you do the south Atolls tour this is even more important, apparently that's mostly channel dives. I did the Central Atolls tour 13-20 January 2024. Doesn't affect my strong recommendation for this boat though.

Very good value for money

My recent diving liveaboard experience aboard the Princess Sara was truly exceptional. The ship is in excellent condition, boasting very spacious rooms that surpass those of other liveaboard vessels. The meticulous maintenance and well-organized diving plans were evident throughout the journey. Diving spots were thoughtfully chosen to align with the varying skill levels of divers on board. While the cuisine occasionally repeated, the flavors consistently pleased the palate. The only minor drawback was the occasional annoyance of flies in the main deck cabin. Despite this, the overall standard of the cruise, thanks to Princess Sara, is undeniably high. I enthusiastically recommend this liveaboard and eagerly look forward to joining them in future adventures.
