Amazing crew and epic diving.
Staff 10+/10. Diving 10/10. Boat 8/10 I cannot say enough about the boat crew! They made our trip extra special - we were so sad to leave. The guides were knowledgeable, helpful, very respectful of the marine life and often reminded divers to be respectful as well. (Our guide was Baichu 💕, but Maseeh, Matteo, Flavio and Shakku deserve a mention as well, as does Kamal who helped us gear up every day) On board the boat, Sassy worked hard at the front of house to keep us fed and hydrated. He makes a mean cocktail so be sure to treat yourself to a few - you won’t be disappointed! The captains and deck-hands on the dhoni and the main boat kept everything running smoothly. The food was very good and plentiful, with many options for each meal. Tea and cookies were free-flowing. Shout-out to the chefs. The diving was everything you’d expect from the Maldives, including MANY sharks, rays, beautiful coral, all kinds of fishies, and whale sharks! The boat itself was OK, although it would benefit from some updates (carpet on lower deck, better storage/organizational set up in cabins - hooks on the wall would be a good start, some bean bag chairs on the dhoni roof…). A disappointment I had on this boat was the obvious lack of female crew. To be clear, this was not a result of Maldivian/Muslim culture, but apparent hiring practices of the operator (who happens to be European) There were definitely female crew on other boats. I liked the layout of the boat. There were plenty of areas to hang out in, both inside and out , so it never felt crowded. We made some great friends while onboard which really added to the experience. There were 3 of us in one room with enough space and very comfy beds and pillows. The cleaning crew made up our beds everyday :). Overall, it was an amazing week and I can’t wait to come back.

We will be back - amazing crew!!
We had an incredible week on board Princess Sara. Before diving into a review of the week and experience, I absolutely have to mention a few stand out crew members that made for a genuinely fantastic experience: Shakoo - what an incredible dive guide with the ability to find anything underwater (and capture incredible footage of it) and a calming presence on dives with crazy current, Baichu - such a friendly sole with a passion for marine life and coral, and the protection of it, Rus - fantastic knowledge of the marine life and willingness to share it makes each dive more memorable. Onto the week. We found the crew to be very gentle, polite, and accommodating, which made us feel very comfortable and happy on board. Mattao does an excellent job planning each day's dives and listening to guests about what sort of dives they want to do. For us, this meant lots of Thila dives with strong currents (so we could see the big stuff). Each day's plan was clearly laid out and executed. We never went hungry on the boat with large buffet-style meals and snacks in between. The crew on the Dhoni was incredible; they worked hard to make sure our equipment was dive-ready and we were ready for each dive, and they were all so friendly, even sharing their phone screen to watch some cricket at night while waiting for the mantas to show up. As a testimony to our fantastic trip, we booked another trip on Princess Sara to explore the southern atolls with them.
