Fabulous Trip to the Maldives!
Diving in the Maldives is an incredible opportunity to see amazing things! Every dive offered a unique experience. One such dive was at night on a sandy bottom of 45 ft, with nurse sharks and rays swimming within inches of you, searching for food. Another incredible experience was at 25 ft with a random whale shark we encountered and did our best to swim alongside until we could no longer keep up - unbelievable!!! The crew were amazing and did everything to make our trip trouble free. The food was delicious and definitely sufficient. The cabins are spacious, clean and comfortable, unlike a few of our other cabin experiences on other liveaboards. We couldn't be happier with the results of our first week in May 2017 dive trip to the Maldives. Don't miss it!!!

Dreamstate experience
The Dive coordinator Yaqui is the most knowledgable dive guide I've ever had the pleasure of diving with. I have been diving for 18 years, but my fiance' has only been diving for a few months. He walked her through the advanced cert course and really took our diving to the next level. Moreover, he went above and beyond to find a private whale shark experience. I was able to capture 1:1 whale shark footage and 20+ min. of 4 mantas playing with us in the wild. We saw plenty of animal life, but these moments were animals choosing to stay and interact. His knowledge of the Maldives is unparalleled and his team is certainly tier 1. Yaqui founded VIP diving in Spain and that's exactly what you get aboard the Serenity, a VIP experience. I'm not one to give 5 stars across the board ever, but the customer service is amazing. And the food!!! Don't get me started on the food; the chef is to die for at every meal. Look no further, but remember, I dove mid December, so the Manta and Whaleshark encounters may vary based on season. 1 dive we had 11 mantas!!! I recommend coming Nitrox certified, it's wayyy too much bottom time to be trying to keep up with standard air and experience everything.

Wonderful
The entire experience was amazing. I will never forget how wonderful the entire tour was from wildlife to staff. While all the staff were outstanding, daily tour coordinator Yaqui, dive master Masseh, diveboat assistant Mohammed, and dining room attendant Madu really created a fantastic daily experience. I also appreciated the efforst by the kitchen staff to respond to my food allergies with healthy and tasty alternatives. The boat itself is the most luxurious liveaboard on which I have ever stayed. The rooms and bathrooms were oversized and comfortable. All in all, I wish I coud turn around and jump right back on that boat.

Great boat - key attention to detail
The rooms on this boat were huge, and premium hotel quality - fitting in with the high level of service on the trip (particularly Alex the front of house manager). The dive team tried hard to make the dives special (the manta night dive was awesome) and get us to sites before other boats so it wasn't crowded. They were also highly detailed in their briefings. The Dhoni was large and spacious and the crew really worked hard and was very ecologically sensitive. I appreciated the dive guide did take time to help with reef hooks - position you in the right place to see the best stuff - though there was an expectation that divers be basically competent & keep up on the descents ect - so best for folks with at least a bit of experience & ability.

Once in a lifetime
Everything about this trip was spectacular to me. One of the little things that stood out to me the most took place during our dive briefings. You could see the passion for preserving our beautiful underwater world in the way the crew educated the guests on what they would see, how to conduct themselves and ways we can all help to preserve this majestic world. I highly recommend this company and this particular crew. Gabriel and Maria are a dynamic duo and everything was executed beautifully.

My first liveaboard ever and gonna be a tough one to beat!!
I have never been on a live aboard so I really didn’t know what to expect, but quickly learned that this is the 2nd largest vessel in the Emperor fleet. Honestly it was perfect. We did 3 dives a day, snorkeled with whale sharks, saw many mantas, the wreck dives and night dive are included. Got my advanced open water and enriched air certification on this trip, but honestly that was pretty expensive comparing to the trips I was going to book before this one as well as anyone I have talked to about it. We didn't experience too strong currents, but I would say minimum 25 dives logged And advanced open water certified before coming to this trip. Average depth was typically 23+ meters so I really don't know what you would be doing if you weren't certified past open water. The food was AMAZING and anyone who says otherwise is honestly just wrong. The crew was so so so amazing and kind and the rooms were fantastic.

So many Mantas! and Sharks! A wonderful variety of fish and pelagics. I did not see a whale shark, which was a disappointment, but sadly consistent with my experience since 1976. Night diving with sharks and Mantas. I as told there would be a dropbox link for sharing photos but have received nothing + I would have preferred to have returned to Male the Friday and mot the Thursday. We were offered a visit to Malé which though interesting I had a,ready done. Would have preferred option of beach on island the last Friday or extra dives as had organised trip to allow for this.

Good service, attractive underwater life
Maldives have strong currents, minimum logged dives of the guests should be at least 50. Our dive guide (Eva) was mostly more interested in taking photos rather than lead her group, in some cases it resulted in dangerous situations (eg. Seperating form some people in the group, coming to surface with zero air due to wrong planning of dive etc.). Generally, the trip was good in manner of timeplan, services, food and underwater life.

It was a super excellent liveaboard trip !
Elegant Manta rays were flying over just on my head, Gorgeous whitetip reef sharks were passing by just next to me, Very cute egle rays were flying like a bird in the sky, Whalesharks were on surface and swimming around, There were all kinds of marine life from giant to very small tiny size underwater. On the surface always the comfortable boat and crew were waiting for us with good meals and drinks. It was the best liveaboard trip ever in my entire diving life!

Hammerhead shark encounter, large number of mantas and sharks. Fourth liveaboard trip, PADI Rescue/AOW, gotta say three things. One, VERY GOOD GUIDE. Our guide was very much focused on safety which made him very reliable, but he was also knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke good English. I've been on boats where i) the guide can barely speak English, or ii) the guide is so hardcore you frequently end a dive with barely 20 bar left. I believe no one will want to feel so scared / apprehensive / anxious while on vacation. Thanks to my guide I felt so much more at ease this time, but also didn't miss anything (hammerhead, mantas, sharks, etc...). Two, spacious rooms. Liveaboards are usually a bit cramped, and I fully understand the reasons why, which is why I usually end up sitting outside or in the lounge. This time however... the room was so big and comfortable, I just wanted to stay there. In fact, I think this is the first time I found a room on a liveaboard that I was really able to 'rest' in. Three, draft beer! This may seem silly and funny, but this was the first time I saw draft beer offered on a liveaboard, and sitting on deck with a glass in one hand felt extremely nice.

Great for the first timers on live aboard
We did enjoy diving on various sites (some were fantastic, some were less so), however, we did not feel that we were given proper instructions for our AOW course My Partner struggled a lot, as he was pushed to dive on par with ppl who had 300+ dives in their logs and most of the times things were extremely rushed It can be a good trip for the experienced divers who are doing live aboard for the first time, but if one has to do a course I would certainly recommend getting it done somewhere else For the very experienced divers might be a bit boring

We had a liveaboard with the Emperor Sererenity for a week in Maldives. Our room was super clean and it was tidied after every single dive. All of the crew were very kind and helped us all the time. Our dive guides Lexie and Bruno were super professional. Whenever we faced small problems in our dives, they always explained to us what we needed to do in that situation after that dive. How it should be done
Extremely slick when it comes to timings and organisation. From the moment we met the rep in the airport until they dropped us back, everything ran on time was handled professionally and with care. When a problem with the dive boat that was nearly impossible to predict, everyone worked hard to get us to the next dive which turned out to be the best dive of my life. The boat is huge with plenty of inside space to relax. The outside space isn't as good as other boats I have been on but as it rain quite regularly, you understand why. The food was exceptional, the diving is great and the crew and guides friendly and knowledgeable. We would happily recommend both Emperor themselves and especially Serenity if you're considering a Maldives dive trip.

All you can hope for in Maldives
This liveaboard is our 3rd one after Egypt and Thailand. The Emperor Serenity is by far the most pleasant boat we boarded on so far. Rooms are spacious, food was delicious (for a liveaboard and even more) and the staff was super friendly. We had the chance to spot everything we were here to see : Manta rays (a lot), Nurse sharks (a lot) and even a whale shark that was nice enough to come at the end of our boat on Christmas eve. The visibility was not that great during our stay, but conditions may vary and it was never an obstacle to nice dives. Current was mild to strong and made these dives interesting... not really recommended for beginners, though, despite the use of reef hooks. For us, it was definitely a very nice Xmas holiday.

Good dive boat trip with some limitations
one very good dive trip with many sharks at rashdoo atoll. the breakfast after the first dive was always very good with Varieties of food some negative points: - Manta and whaleshark only seen in night dives or night snorkeling attracted by big light on the boat or in the sandy sea-bottom as "light show", no more search for whaleshark and Manta in their natural surrounding during daytime diving, which is better for photography. (Trip of "Carpe novo" at the same time saw whalesharks and Mantas withnin 4 days during daytime..., we had a friend being with them) - water in shower was n e v e r very warm (not good after dive in bad/cool weather and for women who wash long hair...) - too many "medium dive sites", too few current dives with the chance to see sharks and other big stuff - the food was very good but not "outstanding" -

I liked everything about the trip. If i have to say a negative point, it would have been the weather (did not have blue sky). The boat was comfortable and the organisation was over the top. Cabins are spacious enough and lounge areas and decks big, comfy and with lots of couches, bean bags....Food was served buffet style and with lots of variety, birthdays also celebrated, happy hours....Maldives underwater is very rich whether in small or big fishes, corals, marine life activities. I loved it all. Crew is very professional, kind and efficient. I highly recommend Serenity. Safety on the boat and underwater: ++++ Briefings before going to the dhoni for each dive are very detailed and just before entering the water, there is an additional briefing where we are updated about the current (one dive master always check underwater before the divers go).

Very sound performance
This is a very good liveaboard based on my experience of liveaboards across the world. Good stuff: dive guides very skilled and knowledgeable on sites and getting guests good views of the action. All levels catered for. Cabins and bathrooms are a good size and nicely maintained. Dhoni is well driven and captained, vital for drop offs and pickups. They make and serve chips; when diving I need calories and sometimes chips are the best solution. Breakfasts are always good as is Maldivian food night. Fair stuff: price of alcohol is fair for Maldives. Meals are good but let down by poor serving system that can allow food to get cold. Exterior furniture could do with facelift but is perfectly functional. Dhoni crew could be more helpful in getting divers kitted up. Crew are very helpful during pickup phase. Bad: this is not just a comment on this boat, but the soliciting of tips is embarrassing and annoying after you have already paid to get there. Crews pay should not be supplemented by tips. Pay the crew a proper wage and put it in the price, then leave customers alone

Incredible holiday and fabulous diving
The diving was incredible, the set-up was fabulous, food & service were outstanding. An overall fabulous experience. Would 100% go with Emperor again.

Great week away for Christmas and New Year.
Highlights were whale, tiger and hammerhead sharks in a single week! Great multinational group of people on the boat.

Perfect itinerary if you like channel diving - but little variety otherwise.
Experienced some exceptional channel dives but expected and desired a greater variety of dives as we travelled northward to the Central Atolls. Making the long journey to the Maldives and not seeing mantas was a big miss. Appreciate this is a large ocean with no certainty of seeing specific marine life but there was little interest from Crew Leader to dive anything other than Channels.
