The DUNE Black Manta is a 42-meter liveaboard offering diving experiences in the Maldives with 15 air-conditioned double cabins. 6 of the cabins feature sea views, all equipped with ensuite bathrooms. Designed to accommodate 28 guests, the boat provides ample storage and individually controlled air-conditioning in each cabin.

Absolute recommendation!
We booked the 8 days/7 nights Central Atolls with Dune Maldives and what can I say? I would do it again in a heartbeat! We didn't want it to end, because it was really perfect! The entire team (really every single person) was so friendly, courteous, eager and cordial, so that we just felt comfortable at all times. I'm vegan, and the chef conjured up delicacies for me at every meal, always asked if I wanted something else and explained all the dishes to me, what I could and couldn't eat. The food in general was delicious and so varied. The DUNE touch event was also an absolute experience - the work, attention to detail and everything the team invests there is just WOW! My husband couldn't dive for two days because of an ear infection - and the team even took him on the speedboat to snorkel with a manta ray when we were diving. Irene's massages are incredible, and in general the offer and the ship are just great. Special thanks also to our dive guide Muhey who made every dive something special, with whom we had great conversations and really built a connection. In general, all guides were TOP! That was very important to us. I could rave about this forever - but long story short, it was certainly not the last trip with DUNE Maldives and we will always remember these days in a very special way. Thanks to the whole team!

Great Boat Great People Great dives
We had an amazing time aboard the black manta in July 2026 - everything was really good, from food, to crew, to the guests, it all just worked. The Eat Sleep Dive and Repeat Cycle is really the best way to dive the Maldives. We went on the North Itinerary Cruise - where we got to have basically every site only for our boat as there were no other liveaboard on the same route on those dates. Amazing experience overall - now looking forward to do a Deep South itinerary with them in the future !

What a wonderful experience
Paul and his crew made this trip absolutely special. In order to make for the best diving experience the itinerary was kept flexible and in spite of the changing wheather conditions the dive team always decided on excellent dive sites where on many occasions we were the only boat at the dive spot. Our dive guide Shabah was an absolute sweetheart and we got incredibly lucky with all the big and small things we saw - from an unexpected hammerhead encounter to diving with mantas and whaleshark snorkeling to octopusses and giant tritons mating... Incredible :-) On board, the food was simply delicious and the service immaculate and heartfelt at all times. What a wonderful trip - thank you all. We'll be back.

An unforgettable Dune experience.
Amazing and unforgettable.My first crossing with Dune and his Maldivian team. I come back with memories in my eyes and a unique experience. I met a large team of professionals who are very keen on safety rules and the well-being of their guests. Ben and Paul are very nice hosts. They are attentive and always present to please. The rest of the team is great, not to mention the chef who makes restaurant-worthy meals, all in the middle of the Maldivian atolls. The yacht is great and its design is at the best of what is being done.I'm a fan and I'm going to try another Dune cruise for 2027 even if it's going to be hard to do better.Thanks to LiveAboard for taking care of my vacation.DUNE I LOVE...

Incredible trip!
Amazing experience! Thank you Paul, Liam and the rest of the crew. We did the 10-day ‘Taste of the South’ trip and the diving was incredible. The itinerary was well planned and flexible, so we always got the best dives depending on conditions. You could really tell the crew cared about making sure we had a great experience. The dive sites that we visited were amazing. All of the 5 dive guides and 14 other staff on the boat were so nice, friendly and enthusiastic, it made the whole trip really enjoyable. The food was great every day. The boat was modern and spacious, with large and clean bedrooms and bathrooms. I’d highly recommend!
