The MV Carpe Vita, a sister ship to the Carpe Diem and Carpe Novo liveaboards, is a luxury yacht offering year-round diving in the Maldives. There are 10 comfortable cabins spread over 3 decks, each with private bathroom facilities, individually controlled AC, storage space, safety deposit boxes, and a desk and chair. On the lower deck are 6 standard cabins, which have one queen-size bed and a super single bed, the main deck has two superior cabins, which have king-size beds, which can be separated into two super single beds and ocean views. The upper deck has 2 VIP spacious suites with a California King bed and ocean views.

Social areas aboard the Carpe Vita liveaboard include the air-conditioned salon and lounge, equipped with a flat-screen TV and entertainment system. Meals are prepared by a fine-dining chef and served semi-buffet style at the back of the boat's open-air dining and bar area. There are 3 partially shaded sun decks with comfortable loungers where guests can soak up the sun and enjoy the sea breeze.

Carpe Vita dive itineraries explore some of the best dive sites in the Maldives. Cruises are seven to ten nights long, and divers can see everything from pelagics like mantas, sharks, and whale sharks to tiny shrimps, nudibranchs, and ghost pipefish. Diving takes place from the accompanying dive dhoni (boat), and free Nitrox is available for those certified.

Diving Heaven!
I embarked upon a diving liveaboard with Carpe Diem in August 2024. The selection of dive sites was varied and for the most part very interesting, which resulted in several very memorable dives. The dive team, who delivered thorough dive briefings, were very personable and always on hand to give advice as necessary - many thanks to Munkko, Saaz & Wathey. The diving operation itself was very slick and this was due in no small part to the excellent work of the Dhoni Capt (Hassanbe) and his team. The liveaboard boat, where we spent most of our time, had great facilities and was very well maintained by the crew. We were always well provisioned with tea, coffee and snacks and the meals were exceptional. A special thanks to Nilanka, Saif & Mahesh who couldn’t do enough to look after us during our 7 days onboard. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Carpe Diem to anyone wishing to get a flavour of the diving in the Maldives.

The dive trip of a lifetime but I am determined to come back.
From the moment we were collected from the airport everything ran like clockwork. The dive groups were small which was helpful. The dive locations were all varied. They included white tip shark watching by reef hook, diving with mantas at night and swimming and lying on the sand at the ocean floor with 20 or more very friendly nurse sharks. Honestly the trip of a lifetime. The meals on the boat were such high quality and we were well looked after with fresh towels every day, good air con in rooms and dive briefing room. Must say it was a luxury experience and worth every penny.

Everything about the CV was terrific: the dive sites were fabulous - sharks, rays, fish species that I've never seen before. The food was great; the ship was comfortable, and the crew members, especially the dive team, went out of their way to assure a perfect experience. There was never a question that safety was paramount, the dive team made sure of that. July may not be the ideal time of year for the Maldives, but it didn't matter - the experience was superb.

A dream Liveaboard on the Carpe Vita with lots of beautiful dives, great underwater life and delicious food.
For us it was the first experience with a liveaboard trip.We were helped very well (by email and by phone) by Liveaboard.com.After our original trip was unfortunately canceled due to a charter of the original boat, a suitable solution was looked for together with LiveAboard.com and the boat owner. Very nice and professionally acted and solved.We had a great time on board the Carpe Vita under the guidance of chapter Adam. That started at the airport with the warm welcome. The Carpe Vita boat is very comfortable, spacious and in our opinion also luxurious.Lots of places to sit and relax. Both in the sun and in the shade or in the air conditioning or on the aft deck. A pleasant layout.The cabins are really spacious and equipped with all the comforts you want on a diving trip.Enough space to store everything and also enough sockets to charge things.A spacious bathroom with, toilet, double sink and large walk-in shower. Always warm fresh water. A well-functioning air conditioner that is virtually silent. A large nice lying bed in which you can also lie comfortably as a tall Dutchman.Nice that there was room to dry things at the front of the boat (equipped with good sturdy clips to prevent the wind from blowing away), The wetsuits stay in place and dry on the dive doni/dinghy.The bath towels were changed every few days and you could dry them on the aft deck. Again, a sturdy windproof clip for each cabin.The food on board was fantastic. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were always a party. Wide choice of various dishes (also vegetarian), excellent quality and very tasty. Tribute to the Chef.The room was serviced daily. Very nice to find your towels as a work of art every day. What a sweet gentleman who enthusiastically waved us goodbye every day and welcomed us back on board.Of course you come for the diving. As far as we were concerned, that was well arranged. The variety of dives and locations was fine. A reef/wall, a number of dives in one of the many channels with currents (reef diving), diving hanging from a reef hook (we had a strong current at Fish Head), diving with manta;' s in the night, a wreck dive, several Thila's (submarine "mountains"). A fantastic dive in the oceanic swell along a reef. Snorkeling with a whale shark. The variety of dives and locations was fine. We were able to tick off our "wish list" except for the Hammerhead and Tigershark (both and especially the Tigershark a super small chance of this trip). It is and remains nature. But we were so happy with the Mantis Schrimp, the Mantas, the Napoleaon, the Whale Shark, the Dolphins and the many (variety) Sharks. In that respect, also tribute to Chakku.Keep in mind that the dive guides are really guides. You really have to be able to dive together with your buddy. You are responsible for your own dive and must be able to save yourself. They are not instructors who will watch and help you the whole dive. Of course in case of emergency they will spring into action, but they are your guide and not your instructor.Being able to launch a DSMB (easily and quickly) (even in strong currents) is a must in our opinion. Also, having a Nitrox/Enriched Air specialty is a plus, as is possessing an Advanced "padi" and/or Deep specialty. Many dives quickly go to 25 to 30 meters (this is where the sharks are, among other things) and at the end of the dive (taking into account the ascent speed) go up relatively quickly to the safety stop at 5 meters. That safety stop is often in "the blue". Hence the need to be able to launch a DSMB.Some experience with diving in currents and dealing with a reef hook is nice. Reading or watching (youtube) beforehand how this works, if you have never done it before helps enormously.We, the C-group, had Chakku as Dive Team Leader. An extremely professional, attentive and calm guide who

We are glad we finally made it to the Maldives.
We were a group of nine and had a great time. They were flexible, we weren't keen on seeing a shark feeding so they took us diving. We saw plenty of sharks which was great. The dinner on the beach was fun. Weather could have ruined it but it all worked out fine.

The best Liveaboard
If you are looking for a Liveaboard you should pick Carpe Vita. it is the best Liveaboard I have ever been on. The boat is comfortable, the food was very good and the diving tender you dive off is the best setup I have used. But the thing that makes the Carpe Vita stand out above the rest is the staff. From the time we first sent them an email to the drop off at the airport every thing was perfect, I could not find one thing that they could of done better. The staff on the boat from the captain to the boat boys made our trip into a very relaxing time not a dive boot camp you can get when you do 4 dives a day. They had a perfect mix of professionalism and a relaxed nature and managed to keep to the dive schedule with out any fuss. They are a credit to their company. Probably the best recommendation I could give them is that we will come back no need to try another boat or company. Thanks guys for a wonderful trip

Unforgetable experience in the Maldives
Great dive sites where we were fortunate enough to see just about everything we hoped for, including an unforgettable night feed of manta rays. They split us into three groups, each with a local dive guide. Most brought their own scuba equipment, but the crew was able to assist with equipment malfunctions and other needed items for the trip. Small touches the crew did were very appreciated - including helping us celebrate Christmas with a special dinner and a great beach BBQ. I would definitely recommend!

I really really enjoyed this trip and will definitely pick this boat next time when I come to Maldives for diving safari. The crew is super nice and attentive. They really did everything to provide us the best experience, including food, choices of diving sites, briefing, assessing the conditions and navigation. Super thanks to our guide Naathi, who is very good at looking for interesting things and knowledgeable about the marine life!!!We saw large groups of nurse sharks, sting rays and a couple of times of manta! The last two nights we even snorkeled with three whale sharks! Very unique experience! This trip basically fulfilled all my wishes！
