The MV Carpe Vita, a sister ship to the Carpe Diem and Carpe Novo liveaboards, is a luxury yacht offering year-round diving in the Maldives. There are 10 comfortable cabins spread over 3 decks, each with private bathroom facilities, individually controlled AC, storage space, safety deposit boxes, and a desk and chair. On the lower deck are 6 standard cabins, which have one queen-size bed and a super single bed, the main deck has two superior cabins, which have king-size beds, which can be separated into two super single beds and ocean views. The upper deck has 2 VIP spacious suites with a California King bed and ocean views.
Social areas aboard the Carpe Vita liveaboard include the air-conditioned salon and lounge, equipped with a flat-screen TV and entertainment system. Meals are prepared by a fine-dining chef and served semi-buffet style at the back of the boat's open-air dining and bar area. There are 3 partially shaded sun decks with comfortable loungers where guests can soak up the sun and enjoy the sea breeze.
Carpe Vita dive itineraries explore some of the best dive sites in the Maldives. Cruises are seven to ten nights long, and divers can see everything from pelagics like mantas, sharks, and whale sharks to tiny shrimps, nudibranchs, and ghost pipefish. Diving takes place from the accompanying dive dhoni (boat), and free Nitrox is available for those certified.

Sharks and Manta
I did a 7 day LOB on Carpe Vita. It was the best diving I’ve done in my life! Amazing experience seeing so many sharks up close. The water temperature was great and the boat benefited from a Dhoni (separate dive boat attached yo the big boat) which made getting to dive spots much easier. The cabins were comfortable and well maintained. The food was great and always prepared with care. The only thing that would have improved the experience would have been a little more enthusiasm from the dive guides (who must have been very tired after a long dive season!) would recommend

Mantas and more Mantas - Excellent Liveaboard
Seeing so many Mantas in almost every Dive. Drift dives were excellent as well. Excellent crew and food!

My diving experience in Maldives with Carpe Vita was the most amazing dive trip ever!
The highlights of my trip were the fabulous diving that included seeing a whale shark, a nice comfortable trip in a great cabin, eating wonderful food, and meeting new friends.

A dream Liveaboard on the Carpe Vita with lots of beautiful dives, great underwater life and delicious food.
For us it was the first experience with a liveaboard trip.We were helped very well (by email and by phone) by Liveaboard.com.After our original trip was unfortunately canceled due to a charter of the original boat, a suitable solution was looked for together with LiveAboard.com and the boat owner. Very nice and professionally acted and solved.We had a great time on board the Carpe Vita under the guidance of chapter Adam. That started at the airport with the warm welcome. The Carpe Vita boat is very comfortable, spacious and in our opinion also luxurious.Lots of places to sit and relax. Both in the sun and in the shade or in the air conditioning or on the aft deck. A pleasant layout.The cabins are really spacious and equipped with all the comforts you want on a diving trip.Enough space to store everything and also enough sockets to charge things.A spacious bathroom with, toilet, double sink and large walk-in shower. Always warm fresh water. A well-functioning air conditioner that is virtually silent. A large nice lying bed in which you can also lie comfortably as a tall Dutchman.Nice that there was room to dry things at the front of the boat (equipped with good sturdy clips to prevent the wind from blowing away), The wetsuits stay in place and dry on the dive doni/dinghy.The bath towels were changed every few days and you could dry them on the aft deck. Again, a sturdy windproof clip for each cabin.The food on board was fantastic. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were always a party. Wide choice of various dishes (also vegetarian), excellent quality and very tasty. Tribute to the Chef.The room was serviced daily. Very nice to find your towels as a work of art every day. What a sweet gentleman who enthusiastically waved us goodbye every day and welcomed us back on board.Of course you come for the diving. As far as we were concerned, that was well arranged. The variety of dives and locations was fine. A reef/wall, a number of dives in one of the many channels with currents (reef diving), diving hanging from a reef hook (we had a strong current at Fish Head), diving with manta;' s in the night, a wreck dive, several Thila's (submarine "mountains"). A fantastic dive in the oceanic swell along a reef. Snorkeling with a whale shark. The variety of dives and locations was fine. We were able to tick off our "wish list" except for the Hammerhead and Tigershark (both and especially the Tigershark a super small chance of this trip). It is and remains nature. But we were so happy with the Mantis Schrimp, the Mantas, the Napoleaon, the Whale Shark, the Dolphins and the many (variety) Sharks. In that respect, also tribute to Chakku.Keep in mind that the dive guides are really guides. You really have to be able to dive together with your buddy. You are responsible for your own dive and must be able to save yourself. They are not instructors who will watch and help you the whole dive. Of course in case of emergency they will spring into action, but they are your guide and not your instructor.Being able to launch a DSMB (easily and quickly) (even in strong currents) is a must in our opinion. Also, having a Nitrox/Enriched Air specialty is a plus, as is possessing an Advanced "padi" and/or Deep specialty. Many dives quickly go to 25 to 30 meters (this is where the sharks are, among other things) and at the end of the dive (taking into account the ascent speed) go up relatively quickly to the safety stop at 5 meters. That safety stop is often in "the blue". Hence the need to be able to launch a DSMB.Some experience with diving in currents and dealing with a reef hook is nice. Reading or watching (youtube) beforehand how this works, if you have never done it before helps enormously.We, the C-group, had Chakku as Dive Team Leader. A no-brainer (value for money-wise) for visiting the Central Atolls.
It's all about your adventures on a liveaboard, and our dive guide, Nathi, made all of our dreams of a great adventure come true. The cabins were spacious and well air-conditioned, the food was plentiful and delicious, and the boat was very comfortable.

* Night dives with giant Manta Rays * snorkeling with whale sharks * very fun dives with nice strong currents, lots of sharks, small critters, mantas, wrecks and more * divers from all around the world and all ages * very good food! * bottom line - deserves every penny, you won't regret it :)

It’s not exactly a spa and much better than that
The Carpe Vita was my fist liveaboard. I did as positively surprised about the space and food quality. As well as about the crew and diving in Maldives. My drip was in Sep. 2020 during Covid and is likely not compatible to the masses usually on and under the water. Anyhow, this trip with Carpe Vita showed me the joy of liveaboards and I am grateful for that.

Unbelievably good
Seeing Mantas and Whale Sharks eating plankton from the back of the boat. The staff are wonderful. Food is amazing.. best so far on the 8 Liveaboards completed. Great mix of nationalities and ages of my fellow divers. The boat is a bit dated now but everything works well and the cabins and en-suites are the biggest I have seen on any boat. This is truly great value for money. I liked that we weren’t charged for Nitrox and this was used by everyone on every dive. You can do the course on the trip if not already certified whilst using it to enjoy the diving. Very varied dive sites, never repeated unless by the guests request. Such a helpful and informative crew. Don’t hesitate to book with this company. Carpe Diem is their oldest boat, then Carte Vita ( my experience) and now the Carpe Nova, their latest addition. Choose your route rather than the boat as they are all very well reviewed.

8 Days of fun and super diving
Our first day of diving, encountering a huge shoal of sting rays just as we jumped in the water - it was amazing! Each day then just got better and better. The dive guides knew just where to go - sharks were our main target and we weren’t disappointed - reef sharks, black tips, white tips, nurse sharks and the topper of them all, Whale shark :-) Swimming off the back of the boat with a friendly pod of nurse sharks, a night dive with giant Mantas, and beautiful reefs of every colour fish and coral you can imagine, all made our trip very special. A huge thank you to the crew of Carpe Vita . . . and the other guests on board . . . can't wait to do it again!

Great and very complete cruise
Big, macro, there's everything and the boat is super comfortable.The guides and crew are very competent, the whole cruise is on nitrox. No extra charge to pay except alcohol on board.
