Overall fair experience, I would have said very poor but diving with Manta Rays is an amazing experience.. My recommendation would be to go to a resort close to the Mantas or whale sharks.
This Liveaboard has alot to be desired. The dive guides take 8-9 divers for each dive .. first person out of air and youre dive is finished ..They dont check whether youre a new diver or very experienced diver.. You are just put in groups. The dive guides do not get to know you at all.. You dive with them and then they disappear.. They are contracted and are not tied to the boat so they dont seem to care. Know when you dive with the liveaboards they all follow the same route at the same time. It was not unusual to have over 80 divers at one dive site.. very disappointing.. It is not worth the expense, if you decide you want to dive on a liveaboard. find the cheapest one. You will notice most of the Maldives liveaboards are discounted heavily.. there is a reason for that.. So much more to say but i will leave it at that.

Dreamy Maldives trip, highly professional boat, exceptional diving !
I had such a wonderful time aboard the Ariyal, the trip from start to finish was professional, comfortable, and lovely. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to cruise the Maldives and experience exceptional diving. All of the diving was exceptional, we saw hammerheads, tiger sharks, bull shark, nurse sharks, spinnner sharks, lemon sharks, guitar sharks, mantas, nudi branch, pipefish, eagle rays, mobula rays, and so much m ore!!! The dive doni and the Boat crew on the doni we’re very professional and made he diving fun, helped set up, breakout, and clean all equipment after every dive so you can go on enjoying the sun. The food was well prepared and plentiful, the cabins were very comfortable spacious and the bed was super comfy. Other activities they have on board, paddle boarding, wakeboarding, fishing, tubing, drinking (ha!), and other fun activities. Overall 10 out of 10 trip would highly recommend!!! Shout out to the Capitan Ibrahim who went above and beyond to make the trip perfect, he truly cares about the quality of the trip and the safety of the passengers on board his boat!

We loved it more than we thought we would!
Ariyal is a luxury liveaboard with very nice rooms, amenities, food and crew service. Our spacious upper deck room was cleaned 1-2x a day. Every room comes with a key card, though our lock was faulty so the room was never locked the entire trip. We flagged it to the crew, who tried to fix it but they didn’t have the spare part (spring) on board. Not a big issue for us. The dining area, living space and outer decks were very spacious. The dive dhoni and crew were very helpful. One of the guests needed more help as she had been suffering from post-surgery swollen foot, the crew took great care of her before and after the dive. Additionally, I had issues with my visa and therefore, required a visa extension which the office team tried their best to help, even though it was their first time. We hired our own private dive guide which we highly recommend as the rest of the divers were put in groups of 8, on average. Rippe was amazing in showing us around the different dive sites, making sure we stayed away from the rest of the divers, and even compiled a couple of videos for us! He definitely took care of us and made sure we were safe and had the best experience even during the night dive and strong currents. There were a total of 26 divers. It was really nice to get to know everyone over the span of 8 days. It was very easy to mingle around which made the experience even better! Not everyone had the same amazing experience as us because they were put in large dive groups which also made it difficult for the dive guides to manage. This has been fed back to the office team so hopefully there will be more dive guides on the boat for future dive trips :)

Comfort & Safety - Great experience
The flexibility that takes into consideration the quality and safety of the dives was the best experience. Our dive guide in particular was fantastic - always making sure the group was comfortable and well-supported through the dives. Ariyal is a very spacious and well-maintained boat, making the 8 days a great experience even when not diving.

Great experience
Very pleasant experience on board. Nice new modern interior and great public spaces made a comfortable stay on the boat. I stayed at the lower deck and the room was amazing with big windows, above average comparing other boats. Also very spacious Dhony for the scuba equipment and the diving sites.

Very good. Potential improvements : briefings to be done by using the huge TV srceen and not small dry board.

A Disappointing Experience for Experienced Divers
If you're an experienced diver seeking adventure and challenging dives, this liveaboard may not be the best choice. While the trip had its highlights, such as attentive crew and excellent food, the diving itself fell short of expectations. We encountered limited variety, with only one channel dive throughout the trip. Vavau Atoll, which I had anticipated, was bypassed entirely – conflicting explanations were given by different guides, ranging from weather concerns to suggestions that it was never part of the itinerary. Dive sites were sometimes repeated, focusing on average thilas. Diving groups consisted of mixed experience levels, pairing seasoned divers with beginners. This led to overly conservative dive plans, with guides avoiding sites with strong currents – and best marine encounters – to ensure the safety of less experienced participants. A few practical issues stood out as well. Despite what was advertised, the Ariyal lacks a camera station. If you're bringing photo gear, expect to rinse it in a small bucket shared with masks and dive computers, and to carry it your room after each dive. While the boat appears luxurious at first glance, it doesn't handle rain or rough seas well. Water dripped from the ceiling in upper deck cabins, and in the lower cabins, sea splashes made its way through the portholes. On a positive note, the food was excellent, and the crew worked tirelessly to make the trip as enjoyable as possible given the circumstances. However, if you're looking for more advanced diving experiences, this trip may leave you wanting more.

A good relaxing trip
I had a really good time on the boat, we had a great week. The boat is beautiful (though for a new boat a few things need to be addressed, it rains inside). the rooms are very spacious for a diving boat, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Dive guides were great (1 dive guide for 6 people). The food was really good, fresh fish in sashimi was the highlight.
