“The very BEST snorkeling we’ve seen during our world travels in pursuit of excellent snorkeling. ”
The Ratu Laut - meaning Queen of the Sea, offers year-round liveaboard diving in Indonesia. At 30m long she caters to just 12 guests in 2 large quad cabins and 2 smaller twin cabins. All cabins feature AC, fresh towels, and linen. 2 shared bathrooms are located on the upper deck. Also on the upper deck is a large open-air shaded dining area and lounge. The top deck is home to the sun deck with sunbeds and bean bags.
Diving focuses on Raja Ampat, and the cruise director will choose the best dive sites on the day based on the weather, currents, and tides. Divers can expect to do up to 4 dives per day, including a sunset or night dive. The captain, dive guides, and crew of the Ratu Laut have years of experience in the Indonesian waters. The Ratu Laut phinisi is operated by Barefoot Conservation NGO, and all profits from the trips go towards science, research, and conservation programmes, so you can rest assured that you are helping the marine environment when you dive with the Ratu Laut. Marine Biologists and Manta Ray Scientists will also be on the trip to collect data and do presentations on the research being conducted on manta rays.

Great first liveaboard experience covering Central and North Raja Ampat!
The diving is exceptional and way exceeded what we were expecting! The crew is amazing; very good at what they do! The food was mainly traditional indonesian cuisine which we thoroughly enjoyed. Otniel, Opes, and Onkor were all awesome and very passionate dive guides. Could seriously use some marine life identification guides on the boat to complement the amazing array of life we saw on our dives.

This was an awesome experience all around!
It was great to be on a trip and have everything taken care of. I didn’t have to worry about anything. The staff kept us well informed, with a briefing each night for the following day, plus a briefing for each dive. I was happy to see that the reefs appear to be very healthy, with tons of fascinating creatures to be seen. It was my first time seeing mantas, and we saw plenty from our viewpoint at a cleaning station. It was relaxing and invigorating at the same time!

in shortest time the best views of my life... yet!
The manta rays were the very best followed by "Melissa's Garden", "blue magic", "my reef" and the short meeting with a dolphin under water. But definitely the group and the crew and my instructor were also absolutely worth of joining this trip. Thank you very much!

Awesome diving experience in Raja Ampat
Everything was great. The dive sites were carefully selected and we never really had a bad dive. The crew took excellent care of us and made the trip as comfortable for us as possible. It was an awesome trip and the value for money is excellent from my point of view.

Amazing staff and breath taking dives
Most of the staff were super kind, polite, Wendy our dive master and manager of the boat was super nice, always taking care of us and making sure we were having a great experience overall. The dive sites were really beautiful, but also having the chance of doing different things like visiting Arborek island and Barefoot NGO work with the local community, doing a tracking to see Birds Paradise in Waigeo, understanding better about coral diversity and having the freedom to change plans by being in a Live Aboard.

Incredible trip in paradise!
Little untouched paradise! Incredible dives where we were alone, preserved corals, so many fishes, sharks, nudibranches, mantas, octopus, just name it, it was living the dream! The crew and the guides were all super friendly, always making sure that we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable. Everyone was very helpful and flexible. The cruise director was amazing! Very passionate about the ocean, knew a lot about the oceans and the inhabitants, and if she didn’t know she’ll find the answer back on board. Wendy a lot of great stories to tell, it was super interesting! I give only 2 stars for food not because of the quality, as it was delicious and more than enough, but because for a boat who cares about conservation of the reef, serving 3 portions of meat per day is completely contradictory...especially today that we know 52% of CO2 is because of farmed animals! Also with big problems with palm oil distroying Indonesian forests, serving Nutella is also against any kind of preservation. The answer that was given to me about it is that there is no spreads without palm oil, well then jam is more than enough! No one will die if they don’t have chocolate spread or peanut butter for breakfast! Other than that incredible trip!
