Nusantara liveaboard is a 20 m-long (65-feet-long) traditional Indonesian vessel offering divers and guests a unique experience to Komodo while keeping things simple and easy. Taking up to 12 passengers, Nusantara accommodates guests in a dorm cabin sleeping 8 with all beds having privacy curtains, fans, and power sockets available. A further 4 mattresses allow guests to sleep on deck under the stars, enjoying cool night breezes. There are also 2 shared bathrooms onboard. Nusantara has a spacious dive deck area to gear up and enter the water for diving. On the top deck is a large sun deck with bean bags, perfect for relaxing between dives or simply enjoying the surroundings.

Unbelievable diving experience
I spent 4 days and 3 nights on board the Nusantara with Mikumbu Diving and the whole experience was perfect from start to finish. The boat and crew were all excellent, and my dive guide Hans, was brilliant. All the dives were really well briefed, I loved the little dive site drawings on the white board, and felt safe on all the dives. The land based trips for the Komodo dragons and a sunset walk were also really great additions. The food was class, really above my expectations of what was possible to prepare on a little boat, and various dietary requirements for people on board were all catered for well. The sleeping cabin is on the cosy side, but after a day of diving its perfectly possible to sleep well, there are portholes to let fresh, cooler air in. There's a nice spot on top with bean bags to chill out on, or an area below for some shade. The equipment was all pretty new and in very good condition. And the dive sites are world class!

The 9 dives we did onboard the Nusantara were the best we’ve ever done! The crew was exceptional! Our guide Hans was so wonderful & took great care of us! Salla was an incredible team leader & really made us feel special. The food was outstanding. The captain & boat crew were exceptional! They truly made the trip wonderful- making our beds, getting our dive gear ready & taking care of all the details! They even put our fins on for us! They were incredible! We had an outstanding time & highly recommend booking this trip!

The crew set a really friendly and warm tone on the boat and were so helpful in every way. The food was excellent and plentiful. We adapted to the weather and currents to ensure we had the best dives possible. I have done 4 liveaboards, and this was my favorite experience yet! I would go back to Mikuma Diving for sure. I just loved everything about the trip. I am a solo traveller and this was the best experience because i met so many other solo travellers on that trip. The whole crew, dive masters and other guests were just amazing people. We even had a Dinner back at Labuan Bajo to celebrate the whole trip.

Excellent affordable liveaboard in Komodo
Would absolutely recommend diving from the Nusantara, I had a great Komodo tour with them. The staff is excellent, taking absolutely everything out of your hands and letting you focus just on the diving. The dive guides were really passionate and showed us a lot of great marine life. They also take good care of safety, i.e. by checking in regularly on me after I had some equalizing problems on one dive. The boat staff kept the boat in impeccably clean condition and made us great food. The liveaboard is quite affordable, because the facilities are not super luxurious: it is basically a floating hostel for divers. If you are looking for more luxury another boat might be better. But for me, I was more than happy with the value for money! The one thing they could improve is a bit more transparency in the pricing upfront. The park fee is quite steep (and it was not communicated clearly that the price of 300k was per day, and not per trip) and there was a fuel surcharge after booking. I would have preferred everything to be included in the price upfront.

Unforgettable Honeymoon Trip – Expert Crew & Incredible Diving We spent 4 days and 3 nights on the Nusantara with Mikumba Diving, and it was easily a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Being here for our honeymoon made it special, but the Nusantara staff made it world-class. The Highlights: • The Crew: Truly exceptional. They handle everything—from assembling your gear to helping you with your fins before you jump. You barely have to lift a finger. • The Diving: Our dive masters were experts at navigating the conditions. We had about a 60/40 split of heavy current vs. non-current dives. • Conditions: In early April, visibility ranged from 25m down to 10–15m. The team was great at explaining how the sites and visibility shift (Central vs. North) depending on the season. • Life on Board: The food was awesome with a huge variety. Between dives, the upstairs beanbag area is the ultimate place to relax. • The Bunks: Sleeping quarters can get warm, but there are fans in every bunk and portholes in the top bunks for airflow. We will remember this trip forever—not just because of the beautiful locations, but because of the incredible Nusantara team. If you’re heading to Komodo, this is the way to do it!

Would 100% recommend this to all my friends! The cabins were comfortable, enough space to spend some surface time. The food was out of this world, and the whole boat and dive crew were such a nice team of incredibly helpful and wonderful people. The dream to explore Komodo

4 days - 12 dives, each dive site was unique and a fabulous experience. Our guides were experienced and knew the sites well. We were briefed clearly pre dive. All the crew were helpful and attentive. The hikes were a welcome change of pace and fun! We had a great group on board that made it even more pleasant. The accomodation was comfortbale although the cabin was warm despite the fans. The food was plentiful and dietary requirements catered for. There were many highlights during the dives, but overall to see the reef so vibrant and healthy every dive site was great, and there were never crowds at sites, it was very well managed.

Amazing trip!
I had an amazing trip on Nusantara! We saw a lot of beautiful dive sites and the crew on board were so kind and helpful. The ratio between diving and free time was perfect. You had time to relax between the dives, but you didn’t get bored. I slept on the top deck and I would 100% recommend that. It wasn’t too hot and there were so much space. It was 4 unforgettable days! I will definitely be diving with Mikumba diving again. Great company!

TL;DR: If you’re thinking about doing a liveaboard in Komodo, book with Mikumba. You won’t regret it.
This was our first liveaboard, and one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. My wife’s been diving for many years and has around 50 dives, and I’ve only been diving for a year and had 20 dives before this trip. We knew Komodo had a reputation for some of the best diving in the world, and it exceeded our expectations. We normally stay in private rooms with air conditioning when we travel, so sleeping in an 8-person bunk room was outside our comfort zone. But, we loved it. Everything you think could go wrong, didn’t. It stayed cool because the bunk room is below deck, everyone on the boat was respectful and quiet, and the sound of the ocean and the boat made for great white noise. I slept on the bottom bunk both nights and slept just as well as I do in a hotel with air conditioning and a king bed. After three dives in a day, you’re absolutely knackered anyway. If you’re worried about sleeping, don’t be. There are also windows above the top bunks if you’re a little claustrophobic, which keep plenty of fresh air flowing through. The diving itself was incredible, and the whole operation ran flawlessly. From the moment you sign up until the moment you step off the boat, everything is taken care of. You don’t have to lift a finger. They organise your schedule, your dive gear, your meals, everything. You dive, eat, have a nap, dive again, relax on the top deck, then dive again. It couldn’t be easier. The best part was the people. Spending three days with 12 other divers who are all there for the same reason creates a real camaraderie. I think we enjoyed it more than we would have on a luxury boat where everyone disappears back to their private cabins between dives. The crew were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Every time I needed something, they sorted it straight away. There was never a “too bad”: it was always, “No worries, we’ll sort it.” The equipment was 10/10. My wetsuit was excellent, all my dive gear worked perfectly, and I didn’t hear a single complaint from anyone on the boat for the entire trip. A special shoutout to Chris, who ran the whole operation brilliantly. Every dive briefing was clear, detailed, and explained exactly what to expect. The dive guides were excellent too. They were always nearby underwater, keeping an eye on everyone, making sure we were safe, and letting us enjoy every dive. The only downside is that we’re not sure where to go from here. Komodo has set the bar so high that we’re wondering if any diving can top it. If you’ve never done a liveaboard before, make this your first. It definitely won’t be our last. Thank you so much, guys. I did the 3D2N Komodo liveaboard, and loved every minute. The boat is comfortable and has good common areas to relax. I slept on the upper deck, which had a nice breeze and beautiful view of the stars. It felt like camping at sea. The dive guides were very professional and accommodated beginner and experienced divers. Very good dive briefings, safety first. They were also conscious of avoiding crowds, both for the Komodo dragon trek and for the dives, which made everything a better experience. Thank you to the whole Mikumba team!

Incredible!!!
My first liveaboard and Mikumba diving have got me addicted. Don't be put off by the small dive centre as the dive guides, crew, boat and food were all outstanding and a very reasonable price. 12 dives in 4 days plus seeing Komodo dragons and hiking on Padar Island. So much life and some fun currents. Dive guides extremely knowledgeable and really focused on your safety and having fun! Would highly recommend. Thanks to Sallah, Faldez, Hans and all the crew for helping make incredible memories.

Amazing liveaboard, beginner- and solo traveller friendly
Had an amazing 4 days at Nusantara with Mikumba diving. The boat is very basic, but has everything you need. The food was very good and there is so much variety, each meal was different but delicious! The boat crew is so incredibly friendly and helpfull. The rental gear is of perfect quality. The diveguides were very professional and gave extensive briefings of the dive site. I’m still a beginner diver but the briefings made me feel very prepared and comfortable. The divesites are phenomenal and the guides really take all the conditions in consideration. There was flexibility to change the planning to try to give us the best experience. I would definitely reccomend this to everyone. Still sad that it’s over already.
