Nusantara liveaboard is a 20 m-long (65-feet-long) traditional Indonesian vessel offering divers and guests a unique experience to Komodo while keeping things simple and easy. Taking up to 12 passengers, Nusantara accommodates guests in a dorm cabin sleeping 8 with all beds having privacy curtains, fans, and power sockets available. A further 4 mattresses allow guests to sleep on deck under the stars, enjoying cool night breezes. There are also 2 shared bathrooms onboard. Nusantara has a spacious dive deck area to gear up and enter the water for diving. On the top deck is a large sun deck with bean bags, perfect for relaxing between dives or simply enjoying the surroundings.

Christmas Fun in Komodo
It was a great experience. The boat is small and could use some more shade, but the rest was exceptional. We had a medical issue with one guest, but the crew was super helpful and handled the situation great. The dives were awesome, so much life underwater, I loved it.

Best value liveaboard experience
I did the 3D2N Komodo liveaboard, and loved every minute. The boat is comfortable and has good common areas to relax. I slept on the upper deck, which had a nice breeze and beautiful view of the stars. It felt like camping at sea. The dive guides were very professional and accommodated beginner and experienced divers. Very good dive briefings, safety first. They were also conscious of avoiding crowds, both for the Komodo dragon trek and for the dives, which made everything a better experience. Thank you to the whole Mikumba team!

Amazing, once in a lifetime experience.

Amazing Liveaboard Experience with Mikumba Diving!
I recently joined a liveaboard trip with Mikumba Diving, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The boat crew were friendly, professional, and attentive to every detail. They made sure we were comfortable, safe, and well taken care of throughout the trip. The dive guides were outstanding! They are knowledgeable, patient, and deeply passionate about the marine life. Each dive was well-briefed and thoughtfully planned, allowing us to enjoy the underwater world to the fullest. We saw incredible biodiversity and always felt in good hands. A special shout-out to the cook for the amazing meals, which were a highlight of the trip in itself. Overall, Mikumba Diving exceeded all expectations. They took great care of us.
Overall it has been a great experience for my first liveaboard trip. Komodo national offers great dives at a fantastic temperature. The diver-guide ratio was max 3 to 1 and they distributed well the skill levels between the groups.

Great dive guides, people, orga, excellent budget boat
Our first liveaboard/liveaboard. We enjoyed every minute and definitely recommend the boat! The dive guides Salla and Hans were great, excellent knowledge of the dive locations and always everyone in the group in view. Felt very safe at all times. The guys on the boat were a highlight, were extremely helpful, especially when putting on equipment. Food was very good, and more than you can eat. There were snacks or meals between all dives. We enjoyed sleeping on the sleeping deck, it was nice and cool at night, clean and would have been protected from the rain. Highly recommended for a budget dive boat.

Unbelievable diving experience
I spent 4 days and 3 nights on board the Nusantara with Mikumbu Diving and the whole experience was perfect from start to finish. The boat and crew were all excellent, and my dive guide Hans, was brilliant. All the dives were really well briefed, I loved the little dive site drawings on the white board, and felt safe on all the dives. The land based trips for the Komodo dragons and a sunset walk were also really great additions. The food was class, really above my expectations of what was possible to prepare on a little boat, and various dietary requirements for people on board were all catered for well. The sleeping cabin is on the cosy side, but after a day of diving its perfectly possible to sleep well, there are portholes to let fresh, cooler air in. There's a nice spot on top with bean bags to chill out on, or an area below for some shade. The equipment was all pretty new and in very good condition. And the dive sites are world class!

Excellent affordable liveaboard in Komodo
Would absolutely recommend diving from the Nusantara, I had a great Komodo tour with them. The staff is excellent, taking absolutely everything out of your hands and letting you focus just on the diving. The dive guides were really passionate and showed us a lot of great marine life. They also take good care of safety, i.e. by checking in regularly on me after I had some equalizing problems on one dive. The boat staff kept the boat in impeccably clean condition and made us great food. The liveaboard is quite affordable, because the facilities are not super luxurious: it is basically a floating hostel for divers. If you are looking for more luxury another boat might be better. But for me, I was more than happy with the value for money! The one thing they could improve is a bit more transparency in the pricing upfront. The park fee is quite steep (and it was not communicated clearly that the price of 300k was per day, and not per trip) and there was a fuel surcharge after booking. I would have preferred everything to be included in the price upfront.

Amazing experience! Highly recommend!
Absolutely incredible!!! The diving was amazing. The dive masters were very knowledgeable, safe, kind, and fun. The crew was so amazing and proactive. The food and snacks were delicious. We had a fun, busy schedule of dives every day and would relax on the bean bags in the sun between dives! We also went to see the Komodo Dragons at Rinca island early in the morning so we were some of the only people there which was very smart. And we did a sunset hike! My boat was 8 solo travelers and two couples mainly in their 20s and 30s which was perfect. We all had lots of fun together!!

Nusantara was an amazing diving experience. 4 days packed to the brim of diving and activities (including hiking, national park visits, snorkeling and more!) All of the crew were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. They helped make the experience go very smoothly and helped with all the gear! Cristian, Thalib and Sahril were particularly amazing and I was very grateful for their continuous good vibes and expert knowledge throughout the trip! The boat itself was perfect for the number of guests - including decent bathrooms, great rooftop sunbaking area and communal eating area I think this tour attracts a friendly crowd too. By the end of the tour we were all amazing mates :) Very much worth it!

Fantastic all around!
This was the highlight of my 3 week trip to Indonesia. I went as a solo and got lucky with a great crew of fellow divers from around the world, all younger 20-30s. The boat was really nice and roomy. I slept in the cabin below one night and found it comfortable with lots of room to spread out. The second night I slept up on the deck under the stars which was even better. The crew were super friendly and helpful. And the dive sites - WOW! I am an experienced diver, but this was my first liveaboard. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again!

TL;DR: If you’re thinking about doing a liveaboard in Komodo, book with Mikumba. You won’t regret it.
This was our first liveaboard, and one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. My wife’s been diving for many years and has around 50 dives, and I’ve only been diving for a year and had 20 dives before this trip. We knew Komodo had a reputation for some of the best diving in the world, and it exceeded our expectations. We normally stay in private rooms with air conditioning when we travel, so sleeping in an 8-person bunk room was outside our comfort zone. But, we loved it. Everything you think could go wrong, didn’t. It stayed cool because the bunk room is below deck, everyone on the boat was respectful and quiet, and the sound of the ocean and the boat made for great white noise. I slept on the bottom bunk both nights and slept just as well as I do in a hotel with air conditioning and a king bed. After three dives in a day, you’re absolutely knackered anyway. If you’re worried about sleeping, don’t be. There are also windows above the top bunks if you’re a little claustrophobic, which keep plenty of fresh air flowing through. The diving itself was incredible, and the whole operation ran flawlessly. From the moment you sign up until the moment you step off the boat, everything is taken care of. You don’t have to lift a finger. They organise your schedule, your dive gear, your meals, everything. You dive, eat, have a nap, dive again, relax on the top deck, then dive again. It couldn’t be easier. The best part was the people. Spending three days with 12 other divers who are all there for the same reason creates a real camaraderie. I think we enjoyed it more than we would have on a luxury boat where everyone disappears back to their private cabins between dives. The crew were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Every time I needed something, they sorted it straight away. There was never a “too bad”: it was always, “No worries, we’ll sort it.” The equipment was 10/10. My wetsuit was excellent, all my dive gear worked perfectly, and I didn’t hear a single complaint from anyone on the boat for the entire trip. A special shoutout to Chris, who ran the whole operation brilliantly. Every dive briefing was clear, detailed, and explained exactly what to expect. The dive guides were excellent too. They were always nearby underwater, keeping an eye on everyone, making sure we were safe, and letting us enjoy every dive. The only downside is that we’re not sure where to go from here. Komodo has set the bar so high that we’re wondering if any diving can top it. If you’ve never done a liveaboard before, make this your first. It definitely won’t be our last. Thank you so much, guys. Great experience with the 3D/2N cruise on the Nusanatara. The proposed diving sites have been all excellent. We received excellent diving briefs before every dive, the guides were careful and supportive, the ship is comfortable and in good condition, the crew excellent as well. Overall, the experience is absolutely recommended and well worth the money.

Amazing diving in Komodo
Highly recommend Nunsatara and Mikumba Diving for your diving liveaboard in Komodo. The trip was short which was great as it fit into our travel plans and budget, but it hit all the dive spot highlights and got to do an awesome land tour on Rinca island to see Komodo dragons. The boat staff were AMAZING, food was plentiful and delicious, guides were fantastic, equipment rental was easy and worked well. Would definitely dive with Mikumba team again!

4 days - 12 dives, each dive site was unique and a fabulous experience. Our guides were experienced and knew the sites well. We were briefed clearly pre dive. All the crew were helpful and attentive. The hikes were a welcome change of pace and fun! We had a great group on board that made it even more pleasant. The accomodation was comfortbale although the cabin was warm despite the fans. The food was plentiful and dietary requirements catered for. There were many highlights during the dives, but overall to see the reef so vibrant and healthy every dive site was great, and there were never crowds at sites, it was very well managed.

Nous étions un groupe de quatre personnes sur Live aboard. Une équipage attentionné toujours prête a nous aider. La nourriture est excellente, surtout les beignets aux bananes :-) Notre guide Sardyn était au top, les briefings avant les plongées étaient juste et précise et Salla instructeurs de plongée responsable et coordonatriste avait une rigueur sur la sécurité en plongée tout en étant cool et relax. J’ai eu coup de coeur a dormir sur le pont supérieur.
