With 5 air-conditioned cabins with en-suite bathrooms, the Moana Liveaboard caters to 10 divers, ensuring small groups and personal attention. On the upper deck of the KLM Moana Liveaboard is an air-conditioned salon and a large deck area to relax in between diving. Blankets are also available for outdoor lovers who want to sleep outside under the stars. The KLM Moana takes pride in the cuisine offered, and the food is sourced fresh. The fruit and vegetables are from organic farmers around the hills of Labuan Bajo/Flores, and the fish is fresh from local markets. Top-quality meat is flown in from Bali on departure days, and the KLM Moana chefs pride themselves on meals being free from MSG and other additives.
The KLM Moana Liveaboard was custom-built for divers and will take you to the best of the Komodo National Park and some unknown and pristine dive sites. Around Komodo, there are over 50 sites to choose from and have areas to suit every level of experience, whether you have just completed your Open Water course or have years of challenging dives behind you.

The magic of Moanna, Mario, Crew and Komodo
I fell in love with Moanna - very well appointed and proportioned. All parts are aesthetically very pleasing - even the air conditioners are covered with timber- so they blend in. The rooms, deck, diving area - all feel well sized, functional and attractive. It is an incredibly beautiful and a very functional vessel - could not ask for more. Then there is Mario - a very experienced and well seasoned interesting character. He runs a tight ship almost effortlessly. The dive equipment, air compressors, engines and generators are shiny; his knowledge of currents - the right spots to dive in along with his focus on safety just makes you feel that you are in expert hands and don’t need to worry about a thing. Mario and Moanna go together naturally. Then there are the lovely, attentive crew and dive guides. Friendly, competent, nothing is too much trouble - food is great They set up the equipment, guide you on and off the smaller dive boats - which are very comfortable. Everything just seems to happen (including 13 litre cylinders at 200 bar - never less) smoothly and effortlessly - leaving you to relax, enjoy and dive. Finally, there are the magical corals and natural wonders of Komodo. Left me feeling like I was in a dreamworld underwater (I dreamt of corals for days afterwards) Those six days made me feel that all is well with the world If you are reading this review and looking at boats - fearlessly and without doubt book Moanna.

Flawless experience aboard Moana
The diversity in Komodo must be seen to be believed. Moana is the perfect boat for the experience, because Mario and the crew leverage their 15+ years of experience diving locally to create an itinerary that perfectly combines the tides, currents, crowds, etc., making each dive spectacular. I'm planning to go back and do the trip again, aboard Moana.

Wonderful cruise around Komodo
The cruise was just perfect. Everything well organized, we dived in amazing spots (beautiful coral gardens, a lot of marine life, reef sharks, turtles, mantas, stingrays, snakes). The crew was extremely friendly and helpful, and very familiar with the region. In most of the spots we were alone, no other boats. Moana boat is very comfortable, with a lot of space to chill out. The food is delicious.

Such a special and amazing experience
Not only the stay in the boat was incredible but also every dive was selected carefully to make the most out of each dive. The kindness and service level of the crew was incredible and you really felt like take care of in all aspects. The food was amazing so everyone was special in a unique way. Idyliic Diving on a Beautiful Boat
Excellent boat with great facilities and cabins. The food was second to none (international cruise boat standard) and all crew including the cruise director were friendly and helpful The diving had amazing visibility with all the bucket list items we wanted to see (mantas, sharks, sea crates); the list goes on. Couldn't ask for anything more. Highly recommend!

A truly memorable Komodo experience with Moana liveaboard
I had an incredible time aboard Moana in Komodo. As a diver, one can really feel that this boat and its crew have been focused on exploring these waters for a long time — their deep local knowledge made for a perfectly balanced itinerary that combined iconic sites with hidden gems like Police Corner, a site that only reveals its magic at just the right time. With a small group of divers and a spacious, beautifully maintained boat, the atmosphere on board was relaxed and friendly. The crew were always ready to help with a smile, creating a warm, family-like vibe throughout the trip. Add to that some truly delicious meals — it’s safe to say we were spoiled both above and below the surface. Beyond the spectacular diving, the shore excursions offered a glimpse of Komodo’s rugged landscapes and wildlife. And personally, this trip pushed me to fine-tune my diving setup and skills — I left not just with amazing memories, but as a better, more confident diver.

Wonderful experience, amazing crew that made us feel pampered and spoiled.
Mantas, abundant sea life, healthy corals, nice scenery everywhere, and the food was amazing everyday, to to extent of calling it gourmet. Mario runs a very good crew, everyone was friendly and seemed happy to be working on Moana. There are many options for liveboards out there, but going with Moana was the right choice for us, and will recommend it to others. Also the staff at liveaboard.com has been extremely helpful and supportive throughout the whole process. Thanks to all of you for answering our many, many questions, and for being so helpful! Olivia
