Highlights
Barefoot luxury is the theme behind Mikumba Dua (of lost paradise charters) liveaboard Indonesia, having undergone an extensive renovation giving a contemporary twist to this traditional wooden boutique style phinisi. Mikumba Dua boasts the largest outdoor space found on any vessel in her class, spanning over 4 decks, allowing guests to indulge in alfresco dining under the stars while sipping away at their favorite drink or perhaps getting involved in some sunrise/sunset yoga or just lounging around on beanbags with a book. The main hub of the boat is the beautiful indoor salon, which also offers dining, a cinema room, a library, board games, or simply space for relaxation. There are 2 Master cabins on the upper deck, both en-suite and with their own private balcony, with a further 3 double/twin cabins on the lower deck sharing 2 bathrooms. All cabins are spacious and individually designed, embracing traditional local materials and fabrics.
Dining generally takes place on the top deck while taking in incredible vistas; our legendary local chef will provide a selection of authentic dishes prepared daily using the freshest locally sourced ingredients and cooked with dedication and love. The Ethos onboard Mikumba Dua is to seek adventure while getting you away from the crowds and giving you world-class diving and snorkeling. Visit secret beaches and lagoons and encounter breathtaking views from jungle-covered hilltops, all of which make for a truly magical experience, “the stuff of dreams.”
The enchanting and magnificent Raja Ampat, one of the last frontiers on Earth, is the ultimate tropical paradise. Commonly regarded as the most biodiverse marine ecosystem on our planet and ultimately some of the greatest diving and snorkeling in the world, as beautiful above the surface as below, it is “truly Heaven on Earth.”
The ambiance aboard Mikumba Dua reflects the feeling that guests are extended family and perfectly combines the balance of adventure and the feeling of home. Mikumba Dua is also available for private hire; the date of the charter, length of trip, locations, and activities can all be tailored to your needs.

The beauty of Komodo in a super boat
Trip with my partner who did not dive but who still enjoyed the snorkeling and the hikes offered. As for the dives with tanks, they were done in small groups and in complete safety.

Amazing experience. Thank you Mikumba dua!!
Our experience at Mikumba was superb. The staff it’s super friendly and the dive masters are very skilled. The itinerary was perfect and the diving gear was in great condition. The boat it’s amazing and cozy, with a lot of outdoor space, ideal for our morning yoga routine. The food was delicious and we always had plenty of options to choose. We also enjoyed a lot the complementary activities like kayaking, paddle board, excursions, etc. were. Highly recommended.

First Class Diving Experience
The trip with the fabulous Mikumba II (www.mikumbadua.com) was absolutely great in every detail and we enjoyed it to the fullest. Everything on this lovely wooden Phinisi boat is absolutely perfect: Starting from the warm welcome of the whole crew, the clean and tidy bedrooms on a high standard, the wonderful and practical deck with bean bags to hang around, the big dining table under the shadow on the top deck, the neatly organized dive station with modern and perfectly maintained dive equipment, and the caring and always helping crew working all around the clock to make the sojourn of its guests as memorable as possible. Our dive guides, Fadly and Willy, belong to the absolute elite of dive masters in the Komodo region. It was a big honor and privilege to dive with and learn from them. Further, one of the British owners, Jem, was with us during the whole turn and, being a dive master himself, supported the team on deck and took care of the guest relations in an adorable way. The lovely and always smiling crew of 12 people looks after the 10 guests like they belong to their own family. Two tender boats bring the two dive groups to the different dive sites in parallel, which all belong the most prestigious and well-known worldwide. The nature above and under water around the Komodo National Park is simply breathtaking and thrilling at the same time. The broad variety of thousands of fish and the vibrant colors of the coral reefs are outstanding! Apart from diving, the trip includes fabulous visits on beautiful islands, hikes on scenic hills, the watching of Komodo dragons and much more. Furthermore, the food of the kitchen is absolutely excellent and plenty of cooled soft drinks as well as water/tea/coffee is permanently available. All in all, our time on the Mikumba II was the alone standing highlight of our vacation in Indonesia. We would always love to come back and will recommend it to all of our family and friends! The smiles and the joy of each and everyone on this boat is simply what makes this journey the most adorable of our diving memories so far.

Couldn't have imagined a better experience
What an exceptional week - Highly recommend it! Welcoming, warmly and friendly crew that became an extended family for all the guests. The dives and itinerary were well-planned and communicated and the operators open for our inputs and to adapt it according to our wishes. The boat and cabins were charming, clean and with loads of place to hang out (in the sun or shade). Even though we were on full capacity, we had plenty of space to have some privacy and recover from the beautiful dives. The food was delicious and very diversified!

Absolute one of the best trips in my life
If you're reading this review then you're probably already aware that Raja Ampat is one of best dive sites in the world. And it's true - so much beautiful coral, reef sharks, turtles, mantas, dolphins and so many fish you didn't even knew they existed. Absolutely stunning. But the thing that makes a trip so special is not only the dive sites - it's the boat and the atmosphere on the boat. And I can tell you - with the owners of the boat (Damien & Jeremy) and their crew you will have a 100% guarantee of a good time. Not only will they make your trip very personalised to your own needs - you'll also have a great time hanging out with these guys! And I only realised how important that is once you're actually on a boat on the sea for 7 days... Secondly - the boat is really good value for money. The rooms are very nice and neat, there is a lot of space on the boat to relax and hang out (with people or just on your own) it looks all very new and modern and all water sports are available (diving, snorkling, paddle boarding). Then last but not least - the food. Amazing. I've had experiences in the past where you would have the same dish every day, even the same dish for lunch and dinner. But not on this boat - the chef cooks every day a new dish, there is a lot of fresh fruit available, and they also cater excellent for vegetarians. You will not get hungry on this boat! So for divers but also for non-divers, I would 100% recommend Raja Ampat but if you do it - definitely do it with the Mikumba 2. Thanks again guys for the most amazing week.

A dream come true!
A really friendly boat! Everything was great! Wonderful dives, all the staff guys helpful and smiling. Nothing is left to chance, everything is perfectly organized, always on time with breefing, diving and all the activities that are included in this fantastic trip. Lots of compliments also to the guys in the kitchen, we ate really well, fresh food, excellent and well cooked, one day even the eggplant parmigiana which was better than the one I prepare at home! The boat is wonderful, the spaces are well distributed and there are these cushions that envelop you as you look at the horizon and listen to the sound of the sea... it really was a dream and I'm grateful to have chosen Mikumba, I had very high expectations, and the reality was much better than I had imagined! Thank you and all of you and my travel companions. I'll take you to the ❤️

Gladly again! Unforgettable 5 days
The Makumba Dua offers plenty of space. I did dig on board. The staff was very helpful and flexible. It was a good mix between the program offered and relaxation. I particularly liked the size of the guests on board (max 10). Other highlights were the beanbags on the sun deck, stand up paddle and kayak, that the food was served outside.During the dives we saw manta rays, turtles, silver tips and white tips and a very big variety of macro.

Mikumba Dua - a wonderful trip in every way!
Mikumba Dua far exceeded our expectations in every way - so much so that my son and I are already talking about joining them again next year. The diving was wonderful - healthy soft and hard coral and abundant marine life. My son is a certified dive instructor and found the diving fantastic, but intense. The currents in Indonesia were much greater than he experienced instructing in the Carribbean, but it led to such wonderful, healthy underwater conditions. The Mikumba Dua is a comfortable boat. We had two rooms, a master cabin for me and a standard cabin for my son. We slept well and felt we had all the comforts of home - on the boat. The chef was equally wonderful. Full, hearty, tasty, balanced meals that included just enough local flavors. As I said, I gained 5 pounds in 5 days, despite 14 dives. That speaks to the delicious food. The public spaces were perfect. An indoor salon for when it was too windy; otherwise everything was served on the outdoor, covered top deck. One could comfortably lounge on the covered deck or the open/sun deck - or in the salon. Our mix of guests worked wonderfully for our trip. Two couples from France (Paris and Strasbourg), 1 from Milan and my son and I from the USA. Plus, the 'permanent guest' owner Jeremy from the UK. Everyone mixed well, had space to themselves when needed, with lots of time underwater! I couldn't be more pleased with our decision to go with the Mikumba Dua. We look forward to doing it a second time with them next year. 100% endorsement!

- Great diving and dive masters. Wonderful food; every meal, every time (I gained 5 pounds, even after 14 dives). Great crew who went out of their way to make sure every need was met. And on kareoke night, they enthusiastically joined in and made the night better. The captain is a wild and crazy guy!!.
