Barefoot luxury is the theme behind Mikumba Dua (of lost paradise charters) liveaboard Indonesia, having undergone an extensive renovation giving a contemporary twist to this traditional wooden boutique style phinisi. Mikumba Dua boasts the largest outdoor space found on any vessel in her class, spanning over 4 decks, allowing guests to indulge in alfresco dining under the stars while sipping away at their favorite drink or perhaps getting involved in some sunrise/sunset yoga or just lounging around on beanbags with a book. The main hub of the boat is the beautiful indoor salon, which also offers dining, a cinema room, a library, board games, or simply space for relaxation. There are 2 Master cabins on the upper deck, both en-suite and with their own private balcony, with a further 3 double/twin cabins on the lower deck sharing 2 bathrooms. All cabins are spacious and individually designed, embracing traditional local materials and fabrics.
Dining generally takes place on the top deck while taking in incredible vistas; our legendary local chef will provide a selection of authentic dishes prepared daily using the freshest locally sourced ingredients and cooked with dedication and love. Absolutely fantastic, tastes like more!
Super cool experience on our 1st live-aboard. Everything was allowed, nothing was mandatory. Beautiful dive sites, beautiful things seen. Beautiful hikes. Very good planning so that it was optimal for us. Willy is fantastic and gives you confidence during the difficult dives.

What a wonderful experience!
It was our first time on a liveaboard. Thanks to the crew, we enjoyed 13 dives without any worries. I'd like to express my gratitude to all the crew (Captain Ilfan, Hot man, Fadly, Almad, Bruce Lee, Agus, Willy, Sarul, Dion, Hans and Jeremy) The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable and convenient. There were enough clothespins and hangers, it was helpful to dry clothes and towers after diving. The meal were excellent and we could enjoy fresh fruit every time. We asked vegan meals, and most food seemed vegetarian, but there were also options for vegans. There were enough snacks, cookies, soft drinks, teas in the common area, we enjoyed them during breaks. Jeremy immediately offered assistance when a guest felt sick or uncomfortable.

Perfect diving, on-board and above-water experience
We have to start with the diving - Komodo has exceptional and varied sites. The dive guides- special mention to Saldy - were experienced, knowledgable and professional., making sure that every diver was well-prepared for the conditions at each site and had a great experience. Strong full moon currents made for exciting dives with loads of manta and shark action, but also the best coral and quantity of fish that we have seen for a long time, The balance with inland activities between dives was also great (dragons and a couple of lovely sunset treks). however, the main reason we are so pleased that we chose the Mikumba Dua was the perfect on-board experience. The master cabin was beautiful, light and far more roomy than expected, with its own balcony. On deck was chilled and the chef did a phenomenal job of feeding us with delicious, fresh food. The entire crew were so professional and friendly. Working as a great team to make sure everything was perfect with our trio. We loved the last night party on board - gate-crashed by some from surrounding boats - the music, singing and dancing was that good! Honestly, there’s nothing we can say could be improved - thank you to the whole crew🙏

Will be very very hard to forget such an awesome experience
Our trip aboard the Mikumba Dua was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The dive sites were simply astonishing—some of the most beautiful and memorable diving I've ever experienced. Every dive offered something special, and the underwater scenery exceeded all expectations. The staff were outstanding: highly professional, knowledgeable, and always focused on safety, while also being great fun to be around. Their enthusiasm and passion for diving made the whole experience even more enjoyable. One of the unexpected highlights was the fantastic group of guests on board. What started as great company quickly turned into new friendships, making the trip even more special. The food was also excellent throughout the journey, with plenty of variety and consistently delicious meals that kept us well-fuelled between dives. I would recommend the Mikumba Dua in a heartbeat to anyone looking for an exceptional liveaboard adventure. Amazing diving, wonderful crew, great food, and lifelong memories—what more could you ask for?

Amazing Live a Board Komodo islands on the Mikumba Dua
Our first time LiveAboard and it was amazing. From the moment we met the crew we had a great time. The boat was perfect. In perfect condition and the crew made sure it was like that during the entire trip. Everything was so well arranged. The crew did everything in such a way that it was professional and relaxed at the same time. We quickly made new friends and enjoyed the 5 days to the max. We went to amazing sites for diving. Guided by 2 skilled dive masters. The dingy-drivers did a great job. The cooks made us amazing meals 3 times a day. The captain made sure it was smooth sailing everytime. Compliments to all the crewmembers. We would recomend the Mikumba Dua to everybody who would want to do a Live a board. If this is your first time or if you have done this before this will be an amazing trip. We stayed in the mastercabin and that was like staying in a 5 star floating hotel room. We would really recommend that, but if it is just for sleeping and your suitcase the other rooms are also great. Hope to come again Maribel and Martijn from Belanda (The Netherlands)

The beauty of Komodo in a super boat
Trip with my partner who did not dive but who still enjoyed the snorkeling and the hikes offered. As for the dives with tanks, they were done in small groups and in complete safety.

Best value for the pennies you’ve saved
We had a great week with amazing diving, some beach trips, paddleboarding and unforgettable sunset cruises! Food was the best I’ve eaten in Indonesia so far. Boat crew is friendly and making their best to make you feel like home. Hugo and Damian were also doing everything they could (and a bit more) to make you enjoy your stay. Boat itself is in top shape and you can find all the facilities you need. This trip was really worth every penny and even more, I’m definitely gonna return :)
