Amazing diving with a fantastic crew

Overall the dive trip experience was excellent. Areas to improve would be spreading the dive groups out more when they are in the water. On multiple dives we were running into other groups from our boat. Also, smoking is permitted in the main outside shaded deck which is not fair for the non-smokers. I had to spend most of the trip inside the air-con room because I get a headache from cigarette smoke and many of the other divers were smoking all the time.

Recommended for: 1. Excellent diving, particularly in the south (visibility not so good in the north) 2. The entire crew is very good. Detailed dive briefings, excellent crew to help organize gear-up and post diving.

Best dive experience ever.

The crew went above , and beyond to make the trip a special experience for all the quests. The food was excellent. The dive briefings were very thorough, and each dive was a different exploratory treat. I would especially like to thank Montse, the director, and Nico, our dive master. There are others that deserve praise as well, but I mention these two because of the most direct contact. We put this trip at the the top of our bucket list., it exceeded our expectations. Life long memories that will never fade. This was Raja Ampat. Our next trip will include Komoto.

Worth a second visit!

The aquarium of fish that felt like a busy metropolitan freeway of fish going everywhere, gorgeous coral, schools of fish, unique creatures seen on night dives. I will absolutely cone back diving in Bali-Komodo!

Great Summer Getaway!

The staff on the boat are awesome and take care of everything very professionally. I really enjoyed the Manta Alley and Castle Rock dive sites.

Incredible service that far surpassed any and all expectations with food, dive instruction, and overall atmosphere.

The staggering amount and variety of fish life, and the diver fish knowledge to accompany it. The food was excellent as well.

Amazing Trip

There was just so much to see on this trip! Diving had a great mix of small to large things to see, beautiful coral, nudis, fish, and mantas. The staff was phenomenal, so friendly and helpful. The food was great. The dive masters were awesome. And of course Komodo dragons and all the beautiful views of Komodo!

Amazing quality and variety of diving

See the best 3 things. The land excursions were enjoyable - seeing the Komodo dragons, sunset on an island hill, seeing a local rural village. All the crew extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Stunning diving.

An amazing experience

This was our second time aboard the Mermaid having previously visited Komodo in 2014. That trip was amazing and would have been hard to beat but this was just as good, if not better. Nothing is ever a chore for the wonderful crew, so friendly and helpful. The dive guides were fantastic especially our guide Ketut who really looked after us. All the dives were planned in advance and we went to the best sites. Very clear briefings and safety was always front of mind. The boat is really well maintained and stocked. Everything is organised to the finer details and is like a well oiled machine meaning you're never left waiting. The food is incredible, the best we've had on a liveaboard. The Mermaid really sets the bar.

Had a great week diving with mermaid II and the crew

The diving in komodo has something for everybody. Bigger things like mantas and sharks to corals and macrodiving. The crew on the boat made the experience ten times better. Always greeting us with a smile and cheers after every dive. The diving groups are small which gives the possibility to discuss preferences with your dive guide. The land visit made a nice break from the boat life, and we were lucky to see a handful of komodo dragons on our visit. Would recommend everybody to do a trip with Mermaid II.

Expensive but worth it!

Amazing trip to Komodo! World-class dive sites, and made all the better by the Mermaid II crew. Was amazing having a marine biologist on board to explain things as well. Food was delicious, rooms were clean and comfortable, and the boat was spacious. Service was second to none, absolutely no stress about equipment, just eat, sleep, dive, repeat.

Exceptional liveaboard experience.

First and formost, the diving was simply exceptional throughout the trip. The corals in Raja Ampat are pristine and varied and the colours amazing. The fish life was superb with great variety and plentiful schools ... some great manta dives also! Dive staff were very friendly and professional, and added to the whole experience. Boat crew were fantastic also and overall was an exceptional liveaboard.

Surprising

Hi there. I just want to say, that I have been in many diving trips, and never, ever experience such bad weather in my Whole life. So that means that the most of trip the water was in a very bad visibility and mercury, and you can`t see many big fish. So, the highlights of your trip, was definitely the dive guides, and the crew members, special Ing, the trip leader, despise the rupture of the left ear, he continues with so much attention with the guest, and be so positive, that she deserves a raise. And everyone was trying to do their best, to minimize the weather condiciones and the bad visibility. That said, many congratulations to the crew and the conditions of the boat. So next trip to Comodo, how much do I have a discount ??

Perfect dive trip

All of the crew were amazing - really made the trip special. Tobias, Steve and Angela in particular took really good care of us. The dive sites were amazing. Fantastic team spirit

See above. The diversity and superabundance of the fish and coral life is beyond description. We were lucky to have lots of sunshine and calm seas too, though there were strong currents in some places - the full moon rising as we got ready for our night dives was an awesome sight. The great synergy between the all the guests and the crew on this trip also made this a very memorable trip for us. Keep up the great teamwork!! We'll be back!

Best Liveaboard Crew

We truly enjoyed our liveaboard experience with Mermaid 2. The whole crew from dive guides to cook were very friendly and helped us to enjoy every moment of it. Diving sites were great and the guides were familiar with the sites which helped us to what to expect in each site. Food was delicious with a good variety of cuisines and it was inclusive of everyone who follow certain diets.

Best cruise, will return to mermaid again!

1. Diving with sharks, beautiful corals, diving at volcanic rock and crystal rock 2. Cruising in Komodo, shooting stars, amazing sunsets 3. Ease of everything, was taken care of and got fresh towels every other day I did have one poor diving experience where the dive guide didn’t check the currents at Batu Balong? And i was caught in a down current, it was the scariest part of the trip as I lost my fin and was pushed down to 30m. Thankfully the guide saved me and the other guests made me feel better and I dove again. I’d just recommend for the guides to check in on their guests during the dive and also check the currents more carefully in the future and also educate what should we do in a down current.

Too small cabin, too noisy!

Problem... 1. My cabin was no 2. Because of loud noisy and engine smell, we couldn't sleep for few days. 2. Because their engine was broken, We could do a check diving on the third day and 2nd diving was on the fourth day. 3. To complete the diving schedule, we should do a night diving for 4 days in a row. 4. All cabins are small, the bathroom is too small. 5.some customers had a party until 2 am. There is no one to regulate this. 6. Last day, we got off the ship at 7:30 am. Some people should wait for a van for 1 hour in the sun. we could get to the our hotel in Seminyak at 10 am. We were so disappointed!

Top notch service in the best diving destination

The crew members and dive masters were super friendly and professional. All dive masters try to show the best of Raja Ampat to divers all the time (e.g. pigmy seahorse). The food and dessert was delicious and abundant as well. Very nice air conditioned cabins and salon.
