Experience fantastic diving in Komodo aboard the budget-friendly Komodo Shalom liveaboard. The Komodo Shalom phinisi offers liveaboard dive trips from 3 to 6-nights where divers will get the chance to see anything from pygmy seahorses to large numbers of migrating manta rays. Diving in Komodo National Park offers something for everyone. 4 or 7-day itineraries are available, departing from Labuan Bajo on a Tuesday or Saturday. Once a month there is also a special dive trip that coincides with the full moon. The custom built dive platform with filling station offers easy access to the dive tenders for direct entry to the dive sites.
In between dives, guests have the chance to relax, go snorkelling in the calm bays or join a beach trip. Some trips also include a Dragon Trek to see the impressive Komodo Dragons.
Topside the Komodo Shalom caters to just 16 divers in 4 twin-berth cabins and 1 large eight-berth dorm. Each bed is designed as a 'pod' with the theme of 'personal privacy bunks'. All cabins are airconditioned with sea views, and each bunk has its own power outlet, reading light, security area and privacy curtain. There are 3 dedicated cabin bathrooms with hot water showers. Social areas include a large dining area, front shaded outdoor lounge and sun deck located on the roof.
The crew and guides have extensive experience in the area. Their main goal is that guests have a trip of a lifetime diving in Komodo! Call us or book online today to reserve your space.

A Great Week in Paradise.
The dive masters and boat crew are all locals. They were always friendly, cheerful, enthusiastic and helpful. They constantly stepped forward to help or sort things out. It is not an 'imported' Western crew and things were not always done the way some from the West expected. I liked the local feel. The food was very good given that a trip with Komodo Shalom is not an expensive one. There was a never ending supply of food and no-one went hungry. The food was mainly a western menu with plenty of local fruit. The diving was great. The dive masters knew the dive sites well and gave very good pre-dive briefings. Good coral, amazing experiences with the mantas, turtles, sharks, nudis, etc. The dive masters checked out the notorious currents and helped us navigate these safely. Visibility was not great - normal for this time of year I believe. The biggest downside for me was the boat itself was very tired, our cabin was basic, the bed too short for my 6 ft, and the petrol generator to power the air conditioners is noisy, close by and runs all night. We were told that we were the last tour before she is going for a 4 month refit. She needs it. Hopefully the Komodo Shalom will rise and shine again!

Best four days of my life
Seeing massive schools of fish getting eaten by larger fish such as tuna and giant trevali and black tip reef sharks at Castle Rock. Always seeing something new and cool at each of the dive sites because of the fantastic dive staff.

Unreal diving
Seeing some of the best dive sites in Komodo National Park and living in a boat for a week, with the nicest weather.

- The location and varied dive sites throughout the trip, the food was tasty and the local crew were fun and good to dive with
Amazing staff, great food, awesome dives
Ricky was absolutely the best dive master. Overall the whole team was great. The boat was exactly what you see in the pictures. The food was really tasty. And the dives were well thought out and planned. The one critic I might add is the composition of the dive groups. Ask for more rotation right from the beginning, or you might end up diving with someone that is not at your level.

too many technical glitch
diving was great in komodo, and the coral here are the top I've seen. But boat need maintenance and upgrade, if there is too many technical glitch will affect the overall experience.

The best liveaboard, run by locals
A full boat crews run by locals! The crews are all full with passion for the sport, and the community behind it. The "crew nanny" kept everyone well fed and hydrated, the "trip leader" kept everything well organized n solved all the problems that came up, the "dive guides" kept us informed of the finest details on the following dive sites and making sure everyone is having fun above and under water! All the dives guides have a very good understanding of the dive site, planned ahead according to the currents and their guest divers capabilities. If you are looking for some real authentic Indonesian experience, a true Labuan Bajo live-aboard, with world class service, this is it!
