The Komodo Sea Dragon is a 38mtr/125ft long liveaboard in Indonesia. It is accompanied by a smaller, 18mtr/59ft long boat designed to keep all the dive gear and the compressor, as well as take the divers directly to the best sites. Aboard the main vessel, guest cabins are located on the upper and main decks, with plenty of natural light and breathtaking ocean views. There are 8 sun loungers on the upper deck, as well as a relaxation area that can be converted into an outdoor dining area. The bar, library and audio/video entertainment are in the air-conditioned lounge, by the outdoor bar, all located on the main deck.

The Komodo Sea Dragon’s 7 days/6 nights itinerary takes guests to some of the best spots in Indonesia, where guests have the chance to see amazing marine life and the legendary Komodo dragon. The adventure starts on Padar Island, for diving and snorkeling around the beautiful reefs. From there, the boat will move on to South Komodo, where guests will explore more of the amazing underwater world. The last stop on the itinerary is Komodo Island, home to the famous Komodo dragons. The trip didn’t have any downsides for me
Komodo Sea Dragon is a fantastic liveaboard. First of all with the amazing guides you will visit the best of the best dive sites in Komodo national park. And also enjoy hiking on the best islands/mountains the national park has to offer. Everyday you will also eat delicious meals and deserts. They even have a coffee machine on board. I stayed in the cheapest cabin yet the experience was amazing, it honestly looks better than the photos. Modern bathroom. The friendly crew will also make sure that you fully enjoy the trip.

Wonderful experience with excellent crew
It was a wonderful trip, the ship is very spacious with nice and comfy ambience, the crew were wonderful and took great care of us. The food offered a nice variety of local and international dishes. Diving took place from the seperate dive boat which makes it extremely convenient just keeping all gear available there. The dive guide and crew had outstanding experience, knew what to do and we always felt comfortable. Detailled dive briefings were held so we were aware of what to expect, especially for more challenging sites. Changing wheather was considered and plans adapted always with focus on ensuring a great experience for the passengers. Overall diving was outstanding with our guide pointing out plenty of things to see, no matter if tiny critter of the manta right behind you :) Also the excursions to the islands to see the Komodo Dragons and enjoy the views were great! The overall experience was superb and we will definitely come back for more!

The best liveaboard I have ever been on!
The diving is was beautiful, the food was absolutely amazing. The crew were just the best. Real luxury! Always offered tea or coffee, even between dives. Someone always opening doors and helping you with whatever you needed. I will definitely book this boat again next time I come to Komodo. If you want a real luxury dive experience, look no where else. If Jello and his team are on board, you are going to have the best diving you can get in Indonesia.

10/10 experience on the Sea Dragon. The crew took care of us as we "eat, dive, sleep, repeat!". Everything was handles for us from start to finish. Comfortable way to explore Komodo National Park
The Komodo Sea Dragon provided a super comfortable experience and great platform for exploring the Komodo National park . The cabin was cleaned few times a day . The beds were large and comfortable . The food was truly excellent , catering also for veggies . Not all dive sites delivered against expectations ( only 1 manta spotted ), but that’s nature - not boat’s issue . It was ok to bring own beverages / cold drinks on board . The main boat was for living / eating and it also had a side boat which had all the diving equipment and travelled to the sites . Both boats are in safe condition . Overall a great experience.

Highly recommended
The sea dragon sets the bar by which all future live aboard will be judged. The cabins were great, as were the crew. The food was the best I have had on a live aboard. I don’t think that we saw anything exception diving from the crews perspective, but it is still the most beautiful coral I have seen with lots of big fish and of course mantas.

Top-notch comfort with world class dives
One thing that stood out is how the Komodo ship has an adjacent dive boat to better access remote dive sites as well as having an overall luxurious experience. The staff are friendly, extremely experienced, and know how to maximize the dive experience for the passengers on board. I highly recommend this for any diver, new or highly experienced, looking to see healthy reefs, rich biodiversity, and scenic island stops.

Stable boat, comfortable and clean!
This is my second liveaboard, condition of the boat was excellent. This boat was very stable, honestly didn't feel it rock that much even tho the waves and currents were insane in komodo. didn't have sea legs after getting of the boat at all! Rooms were pretty, clean and spacious. There's house keeping everyday and a balcony to hang your wet clothes in the room. Toilets work well, shower has intermittent water supply, but not too bad, essentially if you waited 5mins after the first person showers, there's a good flow. Food was good, crew was friendly and helpful at all times, even when some guests were annoying to them haha. loadsa singing and dancing. Activities were packed, you'll never be bored!

Beautiful experience!!
An incredibly beautiful trip, which was made even more special by the crew of the boat. Unforgettable dives with beautiful corals and manta rays. The service on the boat was top notch - especially Alan and Bonne were very attentive. Jello - the Cruise Director - was always out to give us the best dives, but always paid attention to the safety of all divers and did not take any risks. The dive guides were also incredibly friendly and attentive - Christo has grown very close to my heart. All in all a wonderful trip and highly recommended!!

An unforgettable experience on the Komodo Dragon!
I had a wonderful time on a dive safari aboard the beautiful, comfortable, and cozy Komodo Dragon. This was only my second liveaboard, and as a relatively inexperienced diver traveling with a group of female friends, I was naturally worried that our skills might not be enough for Komodo’s waters. However, the crew and dive guides went above and beyond to make us feel safe while ensuring we enjoyed the incredible marine life. Our guide, Fandi, was very attentive; he showed us so many interesting creatures and paid close attention to our gear. All our dives—even those with currents—were comfortable and smooth. We were lucky enough to see mantas at almost every site. The coral gardens are breathtaking; I’ve never seen such a variety of healthy, pristine corals, even in the Maldives or the Red Sea. The boat itself is spacious and clean. The cabins have everything you need and are cleaned daily—and I have to say, the shampoo and conditioner provided were the best I’ve ever used! The chefs also deserve a special mention. Every day we enjoyed a fresh, delicious à la carte menu; we definitely never went hungry! On our first day, Jello gave a very thorough briefing covering everything from boat layout and daily routines to emergency procedures and safety. It was the most detailed briefing I’ve ever heard. We were quite lucky to have only five people on board. Our boat was one of the first boats allowed out of port after a month-long break due to bad weather, so we had almost every dive site to ourselves—an incredible stroke of luck since famous spots are usually crowded. The weather was perfect for all five days: not a single cloud or drop of rain. A huge thank you to the team. I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for great diving in a fun, safe, and pleasant atmosphere!

An amazing trip all round, dive sites were well chosen with so much to see. Staff were very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects f the trip. Safety was a priority with the crew showing a great safety first culture and making sure dives were safe and enjoyable. All in all a great experience and I defiantly recommend the Komodo Sea Dragon and Jello to all my friends.

Best Liveaboard I have ever been on.
We were lucky that during Christmas, boat was only 50% booked. Se I had a room to myself. Rooms are very large for a live aboard anyway, so this was super spacious. Food was great. Uncle Benny told us great bedtime stories at the end of each day. Even though it was rainy season at some areas had low visibility, we still found amazing places to dive and lots of Mantas!!! Boat is large and comfortable, not over crowded, the dive tender is big and spacious. I've done 5 liveaboards and this is the best by far.

Overall, very good liveaboard experience - we are lucky to make some wonderful people new acquaintances. Crew were fantastic, chief DM is very entertaining and kept emphasize the importance of safety so although we were challenged with changing currents at certain sites, we knew we were in good hands and boats are nearby. I would not benchmark my scale of 1-10 current with the DM - different metric! Lol.

Wonderful adventure
The team of the komodo sea dragon was super nice, fun and very concerned about the guests and their safety. The nature and diving sites are just incredible. While diving in komodo is not easy all the time, the crew did their best so everybody was safe at all times. I would love to do that trip again.

Phenomenal liveaboard experience
Incredible all around experience. The setup is a luxurious, recently renovated traditional vessel with a separate dive boat plus a dingy. This was very nice when preparing for and returning from dives, and snorkelers could take the dingy to good spots without compromising dive site selection; the con was that currents in the south prevented us from going to pink beach and southern dive sites because the separate dive boat couldn’t handle it. The crew service was incredible and the food was very good. We were all too tired to drink much but the wine on the final night was pretty good. Dive experience was great, including site selection, rentals and briefings; however, I am pretty risk averse but I felt our dive guide was excessively conservative, as my team ended most dives with 70+ bar each and we never hit 1 hour, and it was difficult due to language barrier to understand why we were cutting dives short. There were a few other communication issues as well that were each too minor to elaborate here. Overall would definitely recommend. For context if you are debating price vs value and comfort vs diving tradeoffs, this is AOW only and we all felt appropriately challenged and all the passengers were working professionals in their 30s and up.

Beyond expectation! Perfect first time!
Everything was very well-organized and the crew on board are super friendly and helpful. It’s my first liveabroad and the rooms and facilities are beyond expectations! Spacious and comfy. We had very good sleep the entire trip. The dives and trekking were also amazing! Some sites did not have the best visibility and it’s a shame we couldn’t see manta. But plenty of beautiful corals and schools of fish and sharks! The diving guides were also very reassuring; very detailed briefing and we didn’t encounter too much current and felt very safe. Slight problems with regulator were fixed very quickly.
