The Jaya Phinisi Indonesia offers liveaboard dive trips to Raja Ampat from November to May and Komodo from late June to late September. Raja Ampat itineraries visit some of the best areas in the region, including Arborek Island, Penemu, Kawe, Gam, and Mioskon, with the chance of up to 4 dives per day. In the heart of the Coral Triangle, Raja Ampat should be at the top of any diver's bucket list. Komodo itineraries explore world-class dive sites, and an additional option for Rinca for trekking to see Komodo Dragons. Dive groups are kept small - max 4:1, to ensure everyone gets the best out of their Indonesia liveaboard. The dive deck has space for all divers, plus areas to store fins, masks, and wetsuits. There are also freshwater containers for cameras and torches, and the experienced crew is always on-hand with a smile to help out when needed.

The 23m Jaya caters to 14 guests in 7 cabins on the lower deck. There are 4 twin cabins with 2 shared bathrooms, 2 double ensuite cabins, and 1 double with a single ensuite, all with AC, charging sockets, fresh towels, and bedding. A warm, well organized and professional team welcomes you on the Jaya. All you want in a liveaboard you can find with Jaya and their wonderful crew and staff. Special thanks goes to Ed, he is a fantastic dive master and cares about showing you all he can spot on the dive sites, that he knows in and out. The food was excellent 5- star level every single day. The dive sites and routes were well planned. Safety first all the time. Currents were checked before going in and detailed dive briefings I did appreciated a lot. Unforgettable moments when we all saw the bats fly at sunset. Rachel and Erica also helped us plan the perfect Komodo dragon tour, and we were picked up right at the Jaya, with all our big bags beeing transported to the Scuba Republic office in Labuan Bajo. Thanks for all the hard work and organisation in the background. You are the best. I highly recommend the Jaya to anyone looking for a professional liveaboard.

Awesome experience all around!
Manta ridge(woke up early so we were first on the sometimes busy dive site. This insider info assured we has the best views for the mantas saw over 10 on that one dive). The land visit to pianemo had amazing views and two of the crew carry up as many beers as you want. All the food was delicious and varied even for being out as sea for so long. Room was comfortable especially after such long days filled with activities.

Amazing adventure of a lifetime
The whole trip was amazing ... from the gorgeous boat Jaya, the amazing professionalism and friendliness of the crew and of course the incredible locations we traveled to. The diving was some of the best I've experienced with such a variety of marine life, the live corals, multitude of species we saw ... just mindblowing ... the boat itself was a joy to travel on ... the Indonesian Phinsies are reminiscent of the olde world sailing ships ... just awesome ... we are planning to head back to meet the boat to dive Raja Ampat in future.

Amazing trip to Raja Ampat
Raja Ampat was amazing - huge schools of fish, manta, pristine coral, reef sharks, etc. Jaya is fairly basic but functional, well kept and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to stay/dive on Jaya again!

Fantastic trip diving Raja Ampat
Diving with black mantas. Mayhem, Melissa's Garden and Channel No 5 were my favourite dive sites. Never seen that many fish and a carpet of healthy corals. Best diving I have done in the past 20 years. The Jaya is a basic boat with no hot showers and shared bathrooms but if amazing diving is more important to you than luxury travel than I can highly recommend it. I would be happy to dive with the Jaya again. Fantastic diving, crew and passengers.

The service provided aboard the Jaya is amazing. All of the crew, the dive masters, etc. are all about taking care of the guests. Magical diving with top notch guides with solid value for money
Raja Ampat is magical. Some of the best diving and days I've ever had. The dive guides on Jaya were knowledgeable and highly skilled, able to guide photographers and wanderers with a friendly demeanour at all times The crew were always happy to interact and clearly took pride in providing a great service and making diving and preparation easy. Aside from the mantas, the pygmy seahorse, the sharks, the octopus, the batfish, the coral, the nemos, the cuttlefish, the wobbegong, the nudibranches and the barracuda. Jaya has comfortable chill areas to relax and socialise while spotting whales and dolphins between dives The cabins are basic but with air con and fresh sheets - but I slept like a log every night, maybe due to the action packed days.

The crew and guides were all excellent - made sure to make you feel at home and point out some hard to find wildlife. the food was plentiful and delicious. the itinerary was well managed with great variation in dive sites and deliberate efforts to dive with as few other boats as possible.

Amazing diving, boat, and crew.
Our experience on the Jaya was amazing. This was the second liveaboard we have done, and although the first one was great too, this one was much better (destination, diving, boat, crew). Obviously everyone is here for the diving, and it was absolutely amazing. Every single dive we saw huge schools of fish and amazing coral reefs with tons of life which you start to take for granted by the end because it's always there! It's almost a bit overwhelming. We also saw oceanic and reef mantas on 3 separate dives which was awesome. On one of them, there were 4 different oceanic mantas circling the site for the entire dive with the biggest being around 5-6 metres wide. The dive sites were planned very well and the sheer amount of stuff to see was awesome. By the end of the trip, seeing something like a wobbegong shark wasn't even interesting anymore because we saw multiple on almost every dive! For our trip, the boat was under booked (only 6 out of max 14 guests) so we were upgraded to one of the double cabins with an en-suite bathroom. This was really nice, but the other cabins would have been fine as well. It's worth noting that the shower in the en-suite bathrooms is just a hose gun attached to the wall that you need to hold and rinse yourself off. It is not a traditional shower. Air conditioning in the rooms was so nice in the extremely humid Indonesian climate. I don't think I could have survived without it. The boat layout was really nice. The crew mentioned it had a semi-renovation during covid and it shows. With a separate dive deck to get ready and leave all your dive gear on as well as a rooftop deck in the sun and a huge shaded open air seating area where we spent most of our time eating meals and also relaxing because it was so nice with the breeze and very comfortable as well. I noticed that we seemed to be the only boat with an outdoor seating area like that and I think the others were missing out. The boat also has starlink internet which was nice if you want to upload photos and keep in touch with family, but my phone also had service most of the time as well. Because there were only 6 out of 14 max total guests on our trip, we had one dive guide per 2 people which was really nice and made the diving super efficient and easy. I believe they have a max of 4 guests per dive guide anyways though, so either way it would be fine. Our dive guide was very knowledgeable and a very competent diver. Never once felt unsafe and I trusted him completely. He always managed to find and point out small and large creatures I likely wouldn't have seen otherwise. He even managed to spot a blue ring octopus on our last dive which is very rare. He mentioned the last one he saw had been a year ago. In terms of gear, I rented everything on the boat with exception to mask, SMB, and computer which I brought myself. All of the gear was in respectable condition, and there were some surprising nice touches that you usually don't see with rental gear like premium mouthpieces for the regulators (usually its the most basic ones that scrape your gums), and for their rental computers they had shearwater perigrines! I have my own shearwater but if you don't have your own computer or just want to try out a shearwater one, this is extremely impressive to have available. There were no compasses on the SPG guages, so I would bring your own. On the dive deck, the crew was so much help. All you had to do was put your wetsuit, weight belt and boots on, and the crew would set up your tank/bcd/regs and help you put it on. Once you were suited up, they helped you into the dive tender ("scotchie" as they say in indonesia) and then you put on your fins and rolled off the boat once you reached the dive site. After the dive, they would pick you up just off the dive site, help you load all your gear into the tender, climb in and then head back to the boat. Fantastic experience on Jaya 10/10
I had an incredible experience on Jaya! This is my third liveaboard around this same price range and Jaya was by far the best. The dives, most importantly, were amazing! The dive guides were all wonderful. They were super personable and funny, knowledgeable on the sites and safety oriented. The boat crew was lovely, super happy and positive. Everyone seems to really enjoy their job. I have to mention the food as well - of all the liveaboards I've done, this one had the best food by far. There was great variety, it was always fresh and plentiful. Lastly, the cabins were super cozy with AC, fans and even WiFi onboard. 10/10 experience. I have nothing nevagive to say about this operation.

Very professional crew and very welcoming
Safety was top of the agenda, always did current checks before each dive so we New what we were going to be dealing with . Food was fantastic and plenty of it with good veriation. It’s a pretty old boat but is kept clean which is the main thing. Defiantly a great budget option for a live aboard in Raja Ampat

I loved my stay on the Jaya boat! The staff took care of you, always a kind word, smiling and helpful! Thank you! The boat was great, clean and friendly, cleaning was done daily and once a week for the rooms. There wasn't necessarily a lot of room to sunbathe, but the dining area is perfect for taking naps and very comfortable. The Dive masters are very professional and manage everyone's safety very well underwater, I felt very confident. The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning and sockets to charge our devices.

A superb experience!
We had an amazing week on the Jaya. Everything was perfect, the team of dive masters were very professional, passionate and offered us an exceptional quality of diving. The equipment and safety on board and underwater are rigorous, we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. The dive sites are also incredible, the diversity of underwater life is clearly there! The entire crew were very professional and friendly, always ensuring the good atmosphere on the boat. The food is very good, we enjoyed it! The comfort on the boat is basic but still quite up to our expectations. We 100% recommend the Jaya for a Liveaboard in the north of Raja Ampat!

Incredible experience on Jaya
I spent a week on Jaya, it was amazing! I was lucky as there was only 10 out 14 people in this trip which allowed me having a room to myself. Not sure if Id feel the same way if i had to share the room with another person as they are quite tiny. I also loved the food overall great diversity and taste.. the cook even prepared a bday cake on my bday on board. Lastly, the dive crew was super nice, attentive and knowledgeable. They gave us briefings with all the details and helped out whenever we had questions. Rest of the participants were also at similar levels in their diving journeys which made it somehow easier to connect, but also everyone was social and so we played bunch of games and socialised in between dives. Two relatively negative feedback: one is regarding the route. We circled around a very small area in the end, and some of the sites felt like were chosen just to fit enough dives in this small area. There could be a little more diversity in diving sites including wrecks, caves, or other parts of Raja Ampat - regardless of that, what we could observe was incredible including Manta Rays and reef sharks. The second feedback is about charges and fees.. you will need to pay approx 20-25% of the boat cost on board due to gear rental (most of it not included in the original cost), entry fees for marine park, harbour parking cost etc. It felt like some of this cost should have been included in the price but this practice may not be unique to Jaya.. just be aware when you make your finance planning.
