The 27m Ecopro Duyung Baru is a traditional Indonesian Phinisi scheduling year-round dive trips to the iconic dive areas of Komodo National Park, South Sulawesi, and Wakatobi. With only 4 cabins on board to cater to a maximum of 68 guests, the Ecopro Duyung Baru Liveaboard offers a personalized and intimate trip. I can't imagine it getting any better!
The entire trip was amazing from start to finish. Yani's food was amazing, the boat is super comfortable and spacious. The dives led by Vovo were all spectacular, especially the night dive at Torpedo Point.

Great diving on a great boat with an awesome crew
The boat is beautiful, it’s not that big catering to a small number, on my trip there was only 3 of us which made the trip truly wonderful. The staff were great, this is probably the biggest thing - they thought of and catered to every tiny detail that just added up to make it an awesome trip. The dive sites were pretty good, unfortunately didn’t have a full manta experience as it was off season. Had a great experience overall.

This is a small boat, with 8 divers max, creating a really friendly and personalized experience! The dive guides were experienced and brought us to the best sites each day - most times we were alone at the dive site! That was a very special dive trip...

Small but mighty! Highly recommended!
This is a very well planned and organised liveaboard. Communication from the crew was great even before arrival. Everything felt very personalised and intimate as we were a small group and we were all very well looked after. The rooms and even the decks were very well maintained and cleaned several times throughout the day. Food and refreshments were all delicious. Every single one of the crew were kind and very helpful with everything. Each of them is a valuable asset of the Dayung Baru crew and I highly recommend this liveaboard!

Once in a lifetime experience
I spent an incredible week in Komodo with the crew of Duyung Baru for what was my first liveaboard, now I'm hooked for life! Manta rays, sharks, turtles, dragons... the crew took us to amazing diving sites where we felt completely alone, and they were always attentive to our every need. Thanks to Lucy for helping me improve my diving skills and training me to become a zen master underwater, Wiki for the delicious food (western and local) and special thanks to Leksi and Bani for taking care of the small, everyday details with so much kindness and humor

Great boat, great crew, amazing trip
Mantas, sharks, turtles, the awesome boat, amazing crew and the food was just great. We also had the chance to see the komodo dragons and had a great sunset from the top of a hill. The tour was just perfect and had a good variety of adventures for us.

An unforgettable experience
We were incredibly lucky and were the only two passengers on our trip. This meant we had the whole boat and crew available to us. The crew were incredibly helpful and friendly and made this trip unforgettable for us. They were such kind and warm people (we miss Lexi), always ready to help and assists us and to accommodate any request or wish. We had two dive guides in every guide and the dive briefings were very thorough and descriptive, which made us feel safe and looked after. We did our first night dives during this liveaboard and the guides made the experience very good. Especially Normen is super well acquainted with every site - we always dived in what seem very good conditions and he was always able to find all the little critters and show them to us. The marine life and reef healthy was generally excellent. The food was delicious and plentiful. We were greeted after every dive with warm tea. Our equipment was rinsed and hanged to dry after every dive. We felt spoiled and cannot imagine any future trip can match this experience. If you think you want to do a Komodo liveaboard, stop searching and book this one, you won't regret it.

most beautiful and coolest thing I've ever done
It was just amazing what we experienced in this 6 days aboard of Duyung Baru. Sea was calm, coral reefs are amazing and there is a lot to see. I like that the capacity for guests is not that big so it's really relaxing. I also liked that we did trekkings to viewpoints and to see Komodo Dragons. The best thing was to see the teamwork and that they really enjoy what they are doing.

Everyone was friendly and attentive all the time. we were just 3 guests guest which made it a luxurios experience. Awesome diving, food, service, cabins, drinks and beautifule nature above water.

Highly recommended!
The entire team on the Duyung Baru really gives everything to get the best out of it! Despite a shorter 5-day trip, well-known and distant dive sites throughout Komodo were visited. There were also two trekking tours to Komodo Dragons and a viewpoint. The food, help and friendliness on board are simply 5/5 stars. The boat is small but very nice. Would come back!

Highly recommended in Komodo
The crew met with us in the marina. From then on we were treated like royalties. The service was very good throughout the whole experience. Delicious food was prepared and nicely served for each meal. The cabin was spotless and cleaned several times a day. We have been diving quite a lot, the dive guide picked this up and even made the check dive interesting with showing small critters on the reef. The dive plan was always shared with us to make sure input from us was considered. We wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely consider doing another trip with this boat and crew.

A great time in great places!
The Mandarin Fish dives, the dolphins,and the Spanish Dancers just scratched the surface of the great diving we had on this trip. Yani and her cooking were outstanding, and I would love to join them again for another adventure!

Positives: - Staff were friendly and kept all guests very comfortable. They even went out of their way to accommodate our schedules. - Dives are off a dinghy, and the dinghy operators are great. Post dive pickup was always quick without issues. - Rooms are spacious and clean. - Food was great, good variety and flavors Cons: - Drinks are expensive, soda beer juices, also all priced in USD. - Be aware that the extra fees not included in the price you see on liveaboard.com, can add up quickly. - For a 5N/6D trip, the itinerary only includes 12 dives. Which is on low end compared to other liveaboards.

Best Liveaboard in the Komodos
Diving was outstanding, Vovo has his secret (world class) spots where nobody else dives and knows the ocean perfectly. He will bring you to the best spots at the best times, also trying to avoid other divers! The boat is amazing and everyone is very friendly, Yani is the best and kindest, and also an outstanding cook. The boat itself is great and the cabins are the best in any liveaboard I have ever done, particularly at that price point. Let alone that it only caters to 6 guests, which makes for a much better experience. Truly a luxury boat for a very good price. I could not recommend it more.

Quality diving in a boat quite acceptable but somewhat expensive for its performance.
The boat is somewhat small although with a number of guests of 6 it is comfortable thanks to the attention of the crew. The food, although well prepared, offers less selection capacity than is usual on these cruises. Attention to extras, any drink including soft drinks are extras and nitrox that they press to be used as well. For the services offered, it is somewhat expensive.

Kann mich den vorangegangenen Bewertungen nur anschließen und bekräftigen, dass jegliche Schwärmerei, jedes Lob und vor allem die Komplimente an Yani, Andy und die Crew untertrieben sind - sie sind tatsächlich noch besser ☺️ Das Schiff ist nicht nur optisch eine Augenweide, es ist äußerst komfortabel - die Kabinen sind großzügig, die Betten superbequem, die Duschen/Toiletten nicht nur sauber sondern rein und an Deck findet jeder ein Wohlfühlplätzchen zum Lesen, Erholen und auch für ein wenig Yoga Für Yanis Künste find ich keine passenden Worte…allein dafür muss man auf dieses Boot - abwechslungsreich überrascht sie einen täglich mit Köstlichkeiten und wenn du denkst es geht nicht mehr besser setzt die noch mal einen drauf Das Tauchen betreffend wurden all meine kühnsten Erwartungen übertroffen...Dank der herausragenden Planung und situationsabhängigen Adaptierung war für jedes Tauchherz was dabei - Danke lieber Andy für diese perfekten Glücksmomente!
