The 32m M/V Ambai liveaboard schedules year-round diving cruises to the amazing bio-diverse areas of Halmahera, Triton Bay, Banda Sea, The Forgotten Islands, and Raja Ampat. An experienced crew of 16 is on hand to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction both in and out of the water. Ambai can accommodate up to 16 guests in 8 deluxe cabins. Each cabin features individual climate control and a private bathroom with a shower. Guests can relax in the air-conditioned lounge, on the shadow deck, and on the sun deck. August 20-29, 2026, Halmahera I want to thank cruise leader Frank and the entire Ambai crew for a wonderful diving and holydays. Frank did a great job with perfect and smooth organization of all processes on the boat. Everything was perfectly orchestrated, starting from welcome emails to airport transfers. A great attention was paid to the guests' needs and wishes relating their interests in the underwater world, food preferences, etc. We’ve got a sufficient number of dive-guides with small groups and flexibility for divers of varying experience levels. The cabins were very clean, comfortable, with plenty of space and hot water. The crew was always welcoming and helpful. They are wonderful singers! Very musical team! Starlink was available all the time. The region near Halmahera has very interesting dive sites with preserved coral reefs.

Great vessel & crew to support an incredible experience
The Ambai was perfect for 11 nights around Raja Ampat. Comfortable boat, spacious enough with great area for lounging in the sun. Decent healthy food, awesome friendly crew. Honestly I'm sure you could pay way more for some extra little luxuries but I found the Ambai delivered on expectations and I didn't want for anything, except maybe to upgrade the choice of whisky on offer (recommend JW Black Label or something.) Compared to the other options I feel like this was good value for money and a wonderful experience.

Great. I´ll repeat with this boat
Everything on boat was amazing. Dive sites were amazing, beautiful creatures, coral gardens, nice sun sets, landscapes, etc...Dive guides were very patients waiting us taking pictures and videos. Cruise director was responsible, helpful and fun. Crew was very friendly and helpful also. The chef was very careful about me with my seafood allergy. It was good don´t have WIFI on board to disconnect and can have chats with others guests. Thanks :-)

Probably the best diving overall in my 30 years of diving.
Diving in a huge ball of fish as Mobula Rays darted in and out feeding. The incredibly beautiful soft corals. The sheer volume of marine life.

A very well managed trip in one of the best dive locations in the world.
The dive sites were varied and amazing. The dive experience was very well managed and the crew took on the heavy work of moving gear to and from the diving skiff. There was always a support boat in the vicinity of the dive site which speaks to the crews focus on safety and support.

Amazing dive trip
The whole crew make this trip so amazing. They are young and passionated in what they do. The selection of the dive sites were very variated. From macro to sharks and a lot of baracudas. We will go definitely back on this boat again.

A magnificent experience in terms of diving.
The richness of underwater life. A concentration that is difficult to match elsewhere. The Mantas are the unmissable stars of this trip but are certainly not the only points of attraction, there are so many. The superior quality of the dive team made a huge difference in enjoying the whole thing.

Absolutely spectacular. The crew was very attentive, and hour-to-hour itinerary was well planned. Wake up at 7, dive, nap, breakfast, dive again, lunch, nap, dive, nap, night dive, dinner, repeat. I liked the camera room (fully stocked with batteries and extra gear) and the plan of getting to the dive sites. It was overall very efficient, and the dive guides are great. I would definitely take the Ambai again.

A perfectly organized liveaboard. All wishes and the different diving levels of the guests were taken into account. A very experienced crew who knew all the dive sites perfectly and made for a safe and eventful dive. The kitchen was fantastic and left nothing to be desired.

Amazing experience 10/10
I had the pleasure of doing a 13 day trip covering South Raja and Triton Bay. Everything was smoothly organised and ran well from the cruise director, the dive leads, chefs and support staff. The dive sites themselves were incredible and the dive leads were great at pointing out macro subjects. Just a superb experience.

Wonderful diving. Best crew ever.
Nice ship, very clean and confortable. Everything was perfectly organized. Marco (the dive cruise director) and all the crew were awesome, working hard 24/7 just to keep us happy and very friendly with us. Very good dives, beautiful coral gardens. Crew always keeping an eye on you, everything was always rechecked and seems to feel more safe. Food was nice. I would book again with Ambai for sure.

Very caring and amenable dive guides
The trip was great in almost evey respect. The dive guides respected my desire for macro photography so often took me to a differnt part of the dive site from the other divers. The only disappointment was that there was a very limited amount of macro photo opportunities on this itinerary.

Dive Guides - Bob, Kiki & Fendi. The Crew and catering in particular. The diving group of only 10 which made living aboard comfortable with not having to share a cabin.
