Liveaboard Diving in Honduras
The Bay Islands of Honduras feature lush coral, impressive sponges, iridescent fish, large manta rays, and elusive whale sharks.
Liveaboard diving on the underwater mountain range of Roatan, Utila, Guanaja offers scuba divers dramatic walls, vibrant reefs and cracks and crevices to explore in depths ranging for 5m to 60m. This area is famous for whale sharks, dolphins, and rare black coral.
The Cayman Trench, off the coast of Roatan, has created amazing canyons, trenches, walls and reefs for scuba divers to enjoy. There are a limited number of Honduras liveaboards operating in the area, making this a more unique liveaboard dive destination.
Mary's Place is one of Roatan's most spectacular dive sites. A deep crack formed by volcanic activity, this dive site offers stunning coral overhangs, large sea fans and sponges creating a haven for seahorses, lobster, octopus and schools of multi-colored fish. Liveaboard diving near Utila offers sheer walls and drop-offs on the north side, and healthy, vibrant reefs on the south side. The Black Hills dive site, located on the southeast end of the island, is a colorful, effervescent seamount. Between 10 - 50m, scuba divers will see tropical fish by the hundreds including barracuda, horse eyed jack, and Creole wrasses. Encrusted with beautiful corals, this dive is a very rich, vivid experience.
Guanaja is the most remote of the Bay Islands and includes shallow reefs, wrecks, volcanic outcroppings and wall dives. Take a Honduras diving cruise to Mestizo Reef, featuring two life size head-and-shoulder statues of Christopher Columbus and local chief, Lempira. There is also a shipwreck, Spanish cannons and a 16th century bell to explore among a large variety of fish and thriving coral life. This dive is the perfect underwater photography opportunity!
You can dive the Honduras Bay Islands all year long. The pleasant, tropical climate experiences little fluctuation in temperature. The average temperature is 29.4° C. Humidity is highest from May to September. Water temperature varies between 27-31° C. Dive visibility ranges from 24m-45m but can diminish slightly during the rainy season which runs from October to January.

The time spent diving in Honduras was a trip of a lifetime. We've talked about the Aggressor, the diving, the staff/crew, and the food countless times since returning from our trip. We had never been on a liveaboard and now that is the ONLY way we want to dive moving forward. We are beyond excited to have found this incredible company. Thank you so much to all the stunning staff/crew of Roatan Aggressor!

I was very impressed with the life underwater. With so many divers visiting that area, I wondered if that impact would show. I think Honduras is managing their jewel very well.

Diving Honduras in December on the Roatan Aggressor
Honduras was great. It proved a challenge for the crew due to the unusually strong winds we happened to encounter but overall it was a great trip.
Diving Honduras in April on the Roatan Aggressor
It was good! I love wall diving and swim throughs which Honduras as a lot to offer. The condition of the reef and overall minimal fish colonies, dull coloring of the coral, and huge amount of dead coral and extreme alge growth is extremely concerning though - and if something extreme is not done soon to protect this environment it will only take a few years for these reefs to die and be nothing but rocks. Honduras needs to take serious environmental action to protect their diving economy!

It is the best diving in the Caribbean
Diving Honduras in September on the Roatan Aggressor
Personally it was not as exciting as I have experienced in other places, I've been to Fiji, Palau, Truuk, Phillipines, French Polynisia, Cuba, Belise, Big island of Hawaii on live a boards.

Great dive sites; vey nice formations and abundant soft coral. Easy dives; not as many turtles as years past.

Good. The waters of Honduras still has a well protected reef system
Diving Honduras in March on the Roatan Aggressor
Mostly great visibility and low current at the sites we visited. We found a way to fit in some sharks where possible, and there was a variety of substrate to see different critters. Some of the topography was breathtaking. We fit in a few wrecks too.

The water and topography is great

I really enjoyed the dives in Honduras! I saw lots of beautiful marine life. I have to give credit to the dive masters because they pointed out a lot of the macro life which was a highlight on the dives.
Diving Honduras in May on the Roatan Aggressor
Diving great. Country is third world, so not much there other than trash and poverty.
Diving Honduras in July on the Roatan Aggressor
It had been 3 years since my last liveaboard. I had never dove in January before and experience more of a between dive chill. The actual reef experience was fun, but I would have to say the variety and exposure to flora and fauna was average for the Caribbean.

I have dove Roatan twice before. Good diving, with the benefit of some remote sites.
Diving Honduras in January on the Roatan Aggressor
Mediocre - unhealthy coral, scarce marine life.
Diving Honduras in February on the Roatan Aggressor
It was pretty good but this is third time we have been to the Bay Islands and every time it has been prohibitively windy. This not only affects the access to dive sites but also water clarity. For this reason we may not return.

Very nice diving conditions. Very relaxing easy going atmosphere.

Cayos Cochinos offers pristine reef environments with pelagic action. Utila is also varied and dynamic
Diving Honduras in February on the Roatan Aggressor
I had a great experience diving in beautiful reefs.
Diving Honduras in April on the Roatan Aggressor
Visibility, water temperature and the beauty of the reef make for amazing diving. Also, the geography of Roatán is such that one hardly ever "miss dives" due to weather, even when there are fairly strong winds. Yet, there was a bit less fish than I expected, what some locals attributed to recent overfishing.
Diving Honduras in April on the Roatan Aggressor
Great, but the Shark Dive is artificial and contrived and could be dropped from the itinerary.
Diving Honduras in October on the Roatan Aggressor
Pretty good diving - not the greatest visibility in general, but still pretty great. Not always the healthiest reefs, but still pretty great. Occasional chances to see big and exciting stuff.
Diving Honduras in April on the Roatan Aggressor
The diving itself was a bit disappointing due to the state of the reefs. But I have been mostly diving in Egypt and Indonesia, so am spoiled.
