The Galaxy Diver II is a liveaboard taking 16 passengers on diving and naturalist trips around the Galapagos. There are 8 double cabins on board. Diving itineraries aboard the Galaxy Diver II include visits to world-renowned dive sites such as Carrion Point and Wolf Island, Shark Bay, El Arenal, Darwin’s Pillars (formerly Darwin's Arch), and Cousin Rock. Species commonly seen on such trips include hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, rays, Galapagos sharks, tiger sharks, and Orcas. Naturalist itineraries aboard the Galaxy Diver II take guests on unique wildlife spotting and sightseeing land excursions.

Guests will explore Sullivan Bay's preserved lava flows, encounter lizards and birds, and discover Rabida's red-sand beach, sea lions, and coastal cliffs teeming with wildlife. Observe the abundant marine iguana colony at Espinoza Point. Snorkel with fish and sea turtles. At Tagus Cove, guests can hike through Palo Santo forests, spot the endangered Galapagos martin, and snorkel with penguins. Guests aboard the Galaxi Diver II encounter marine iguanas, sea lions, rays, and turtles at Tintoreras, and explore the birdlife of the Wetlands, including flamingoes. The Ritz Carlton of Liveaboard Dive Boats!
One of the top liveaboards I have been on. The boat was sparkling clean and very modern looking. The cabins were spacious, bed very comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious and modern. The crew was fun and friendly. The bar had some nice wines for purchase and made delicious cocktails. The food was amazing. Equadorian cuisine presented and plated beautifully....gourmet dining! The dives were well organized and the crew worked hard to make sure divers got in and out of the pangas safely. Hughly recommend the Galaxy II!

An amazing week on board the Galaxy Diver 2 in the Galapogas.
I cannot speak highly enough of how good this trip was. The Diving was unbelievable and exceeded any expectattions I had pre-trip (and believe me they were high!). Jorge and Paolo were excellent Dive Guides and the staff on the Galaxy Diver could not do enough to make sure our experience was first rate. The Galaxy Diver 2 itself is like a floating 5 Star Hotel and the food throught the trip was excellent with high quality and variety throughout the trip. If and when I return to dive in the Galapogas, this is the Liveaboard I would choose.

Galaxy Diver 2, April 2025
We traveled on the Galaxy Diver 2 in April 2025. The boat is excellent with very spacious cabins and bathrooms, good setup on the dive deck, high quality food, and plenty of space for lounging including a Jacuzzi. Dive guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Equipment is in good condition. Diving conditions were mixed in April, with low visibility and heavy surge at many of the dive sites, but we still had the opportunity to see hammerheads, dolphins, turtles, eagle rays, and sea lions. Overall I would recommend this boat.

I had prepared a long time in advance for this Galapagos liveaboard trip, and the Galaxy Diver2 completely exceeded my expectations! From the moment they boarded, every crew member – including the captain, dive guide, chef and even the logistics staff – showed meticulous service and made the entire journey feel warm. Every day is full of surprises, and every dive is unforgettable. The facilities on board are top-notch, and the clean and comfortable environment is reassuring, especially the purification of the toiletry water is in place (which is rare in this archipelago!). ）。 The diving team is not only skilled, but also vividly explains the unique geography and ecology of the Galapagos, making every time you go into the water, it feels like exploring a nature documentary. Even more surprising is the onboard food and 24-hour coffee service (their two professional coffee machines are definitely a commendation!). ）。 What touched me the most was the intention of the whole team - whether it was the captain's careful adjustment of the route to avoid wind and waves, or the hot towels handed over by the crew at any time, the details showed professionalism and care. Great experience
We had a great experience on the Galaxy Diver II. The crew is great. Very friendly, professional, well attuned to each other and do everything we can to make the trip as good as possible. The food was amazing. More than enough, after every dive fresh fruit and a local snack and breakfast/lunch/dinner really delicious and varied. We even got a ceviche workshop from the chef. The dives were great and the guides very good. The rooms were cleaned every day and the boat always looked neat.

The photos show exactly what you get:A luxurious cabin with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom (yes, bathroom, not wet room), a cozy salon, a very practical dive deck, exceptionally good food and top-class service.The entire crew, from the captain to the mechanic, helped at all times with drive and friendliness. Whether putting on the equipment or taking off the wet neoprene :-)) Everything worked like clockwork, you could only be amazed!Not all members of the crew spoke English, but with hands and feet or with the help of the dive guides, you could always communicate. They somehow read your wishes from your faces anyway. No wishes remained unfulfilled.The dive guides were very experienced and did a great job. We saw everything our hearts desired.But the guides not only gave their all under water, they were also always available to us on the boat. They gave short presentations about Galapagos, sharks or other topics on various evenings. A real added value!Within the crew, the harmony was clearly noticeable, which also rubbed off on the guests. All in all, we were a great group of guests, I wouldn't have expected.At the end of my song of praise I would like to highlight the desserts - they were (for me personally) each a highlight, luckily they were served twice a day :-))What I didn't like so much; the security aspect could have been done a little more pronounced. Of course, there was the emergency exercise before casting off, but it could have gone a little deeper. The same with the dives. There was always no information about what to do if... I know you may be reluctant to talk about these topics, but it is necessary.The negative entry of the Zodiac was demanded and also practiced, but with mistakes.You have to tell the divers again that "negative" does not mean meeting directly under the boat to sort yourself out. "Negative" means diving down immediately and you meet at the safe reef (where you can still follow the current). Best vacation of my life.
An absolutely incredible experience. I took a chance due to few reviews and not being real sure about the official website, and am very glad I did! An absolutely amazing experience. We saw the whale shark, mola mola, red lipped bat fish, countless hammerheads, tons of spotted eagle rays, and more. Paolo and William were awesome guides finding pretty much everything you could ask for. They both took plenty of great photos as well and provided them for free. The food was outstanding. A lot of Ecuadorian food and a dessert with every meal. I was never hungry. The boat… wow. Is this how millionaires live? A beautiful luxury yacht and the crew cleaned cabin and made our beds in between every dive if we slept in them! A nice hot tub on the top deck. Everything was near spotless. The crew helped us doing literally every task we needed help with. Free very fast wifi from Starlink. I clocked over 60mbps in the middle of the ocean. You won’t regret booking it.

Most amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience!
I had a fantastic time on Galaxy Diver II. The absolute highlight for me (aside from the actual diving in Galapagos and all the animals we saw) are the dive guides and crew members. The dive guides Jorge and Paulo are really experts at what they do, they kept us safe under water and made sure we have the best experience possible. The crew on board were so so amazing - the entire operation is planned and organized so well, every person knows when and where they need to be and what they need to do. To the tiniest detail like unzipping our wetsuits when we get back on the boat, to checking our gear and keeping our rooms and common spaces clean. They are all so professional and incredibly sweet, always smiling and willing to help. Food was amazing and they accommodated various dietary restrictions. Hot towels and snacks after the dives were great. But my absolute favorite part was the pirate dance party the crew had for us when we passed the equator line!!

Just an absolute magical experience to discover the Galapagos on board of the Galaxy Diver II
It was just overall superb. The diving and underwater life, but also the fantastic crew and dive guides Jorge and William! Also we were lucky with our fellow divers and the food was just delicious. The boat was just newly renowated and in top shape and beginning of july was a great month to chose for a liveaboard in the Galapagos. At Wolf and Darwin there was unbelievable action, literally there wasnt a single moment without hammerheads or huge galapagos sharks in your sight!

Best week ever with amazing dives!!
Diving on the Galaxy Diver 2 was amazing. The boat was freshly painted and everything was well looked after and taken care of. The briefing area was very comfortable to hang out in and the rooms were well equipped and also comfortable. The crew were at the top of their game, everyone was more than happy to help us suit up and rip us out of our wet suits. And nothing beats the hot showers AND hot towels!! The prep area was well organized and always kept super clean. Food was incredible, showing off tons of local ecuadorian cuisine. They even did a birthday cake for myself and another person celebrating. Our dive guides, Juan and William, were also incredible. I’ve never dove with such a large group before (8 people) but they gave super thorough and informative briefings and also took great care of us out in the water. They were both super knowledgeable and had eagle eyes to spot all the things including Mola Mola and Galapagos sharks! They were also super honest about what to expect with the conditions which I appreciated. It was maybe a bit much to dive 3 times in the morning and once in the afternoon but I guess we just really earned that 8pm bedtime. I rented almost a full kit of dive gear and it was all in excellent condition and well maintained. With El Niño, I didn’t need the 7mm wetsuits with the unseasonably warm water (27 at Darwin in June!) but it was still appreciated. I was very sad to leave my boat bubble after the week.

Galaxy Diver II — A Trip of a Lifetime in the Galápagos
There are trips you take, and then there are trips that change you. Our week aboard Galaxy Diver II (3rd–10th June 2025) falls firmly, irrevocably, into the second category. My wife and I have dived in many corners of the world, but nothing — nothing — prepared us for what we experienced in the Galápagos, and nothing could have made it as extraordinary as the vessel, the crew, and the sheer human warmth we encountered at every turn aboard this remarkable boat. Let me try to do it justice. Galaxy Diver II is a serious liveaboard built for serious divers, and from the moment you step aboard you feel that intention in every detail. The vessel is well-maintained, thoughtfully laid out, and manages that rare balance of being both functional and genuinely comfortable. The dive deck is spacious and organised — gear is stowed sensibly, camera tables are positioned where you actually need them, and the flow from kitting up to giant-stride entry is smooth and logical. After multiple dives a day, you come to deeply appreciate a well-designed dive deck. This one earns its keep. The cabins are snug without feeling cramped, the beds are genuinely comfortable (a non-trivial achievement on a liveaboard), and the air conditioning works — again, not something to be taken for granted at sea. The common areas — the salon, the sun deck, the outdoor seating — give you space to spread out, decompress (metaphorically, after the decompression you've already done), compare notes on what you saw, and simply stare out at one of the most extraordinary ocean landscapes on the planet. Meals were sensational throughout: fresh, varied, generously portioned, and served with care. When you're burning energy across four dives a day in tricky currents, good food matters more than you might expect — and Galaxy Diver II delivered on every occasion. If a liveaboard runs like clockwork, there is always someone behind the clock. For us, that person was Tao, our Trip Director, and we cannot speak highly enough of him. Tao's communication was exceptional from start to finish — clear, timely, and always delivered with a warmth that made you feel informed rather than managed. Whether it was briefing us on the day's dive sites, navigating the inevitable uncertainties of Galápagos conditions, or simply keeping everyone on the same page about timings and logistics, he handled it all with an effortless confidence that instilled complete trust. You knew, with Tao at the helm of the operation, that everything was in hand. But what elevated Tao beyond mere competence was his genuine passion — for the islands, for the marine life, for the whole extraordinary privilege of being in this place. That passion is contagious. It sets the tone for the entire trip. He was personable and approachable, and when things were challenging — and the conditions this week were, at times, genuinely challenging — his calm, supportive presence made all the difference. He didn't minimise difficulties; he contextualised them, encouraged us through them, and made sure no one felt left behind. We left feeling genuinely grateful for him. To dive the Galápagos with great guides is a privilege. To dive it with Juan and William is something else entirely. These two are, quite simply, extraordinary. Between them they carry a profound, intuitive knowledge of these waters — the currents, the topography, the behaviour of the animals, the precise rock where the hammerhead tends to hover at 22 metres on a Friday morning. Their ability to find the animals we had dreamed of seeing — schooling hammerheads, Galapagos Penguins, Galápagos sharks, marine iguanas feeding underwater, sea lions playing aerial games around us — was, on multiple occasions, genuinely jaw-dropping. They don't just take you diving. They curate an experience. And they do it with such joy. Jorge (George) the Guide was amazing, he went above and beyond to make sure you enjoy the trip in and out of the water! The food was ok. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The cabin (lower deck) was spacious - the beds (twin) comfy. Wolf and Darwin are probably amongst the top 3 divespots in the world for the "big stuff".

The Best of the Galápagos on the Galaxy Diver II!
Recently renovated and easily the most beautiful liveaboard in the Galápagos, the Galaxy Diver II offers spacious, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a great camera setup. In the morning or after our dives, the cozy living room is perfect for watching TV or chatting, alongside a highly inviting coffee station. We felt privileged to dive Darwin and Wolf; despite warmer El Niño waters, we still experienced the absolute best of the Galápagos underwater. Our fantastic guides, Carlos and George, work seamlessly together, and the entire crew was incredibly warm—with the post-dive warm towels and snacks being a major highlight!

The following is a letter I wrote to a passenger (also a travel agent) I traveled with the week before: Dearest Marianne, It is so nice to hear from you. First, of the 14 guests we had on board, not one was a drama queen, everybody acted their age. Ha ha. (Note: I was senior to all by about 25 years and I was the only American). They were from Australia (transplants from England), Germany, Spain, and France. Most spoke their native tongue, and Spanish and English. I thoroughly enjoyed their company while observing the minute cultural differences. Second, I would rate the trip an 8 or 9 when compared to the “naturalist” trip we took. As you know, the “naturalist” trip was chaulk full of minitrips, hiking, snorkeling and touring, and most educational about the environment and all. Most of the diving in the Galapagos can be found better elsewhere in the world. We did have some special moments with sea turtles and sea lions in and around the main islands. However, we did dive at Wolf and Darwin Islands, Darwin Arch specifically, both of which were spectacular, Darwin Island much more so though. Darwin Arch (now Pillars because the arch collapsed) is the flagship diving spot of the Galapagos. Besides seeing sea turtles and hundreds of hammerhead sharks, as well as other sharks, we encountered not one, not two, but six whale sharks. Most other places in the world, you are allowed to snorkel with the whale shark after chasing them a bit. But the whale shark always just swims away and you cannot keep up with it, then the chase begins again. Here though, we would dive to about 70 feet (about 21 meters) and lay on a ledge and wait for the whale shark to slowly swim by. This is what divers dream about. I shot video and posted the best on my Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/Fourteener ) if you care to see. All in all, I am totally happy with making both voyages on the Galaxy Diver II. Usually, when I travel to go diving I am glad I did it, but also happy to be heading home. While I still had these emotions when this trip ended, I was for the first time, actually tearfully sad because I had exceptionally good experiences and wouldn’t trade it for any other trip. These two weeks have been the flagship trip of my 70 years and I doubt any other trip can beat it. Thank you for getting back to me, I was sincerely surprised. I enjoyed our time together. Great experience overall, extreme difficulty with flight bookings and flexibility, would not book flights through them in the future. The food is average except the sushi...this was amazing, the staff make up for the few items that lag. Despite this we will definitely book this specific boat again.

If you are thinking Galapagos, Galaxy Diver II is my recommendation.
The Galaxy Diver II crew and guides made diving in the Galapagos a dream come true for me. Overall a wonderful experience.

The crew and guides were amazingly friendly and accommodating. They emphasized safety and comfort equally.. The food was some of the best I have ever had on a liveaboard. There were choices for every meal, tasty and beautifully presented.. The boat was spacious ne very comfortable. Plenty of room on the dive deck for all the divers. The rooms were comfortable and attractive..
