The Galapagos Sky was built with divers' needs in mind to offer year-round world-class diving in the Galapagos Islands. Refurbished in April 2025, the Galapagos Sky has offered dive liveaboard trips in the Galapagos since 2001, and its captain and crew are among the most experienced in the region. Onboard, 16 passengers are accommodated in 8 private en-suite guest cabins, each featuring two twin beds or one king-size bed, a wardrobe, a mirrored cabinet, and marine-safe toiletries.

The Galapagos Sky liveaboard is fully air-conditioned and offers ample space for rest and relaxation. The main salon features an audio/video entertainment center and a separate dining area where Ecuadorian and international cuisine is served. Dining service is ‘fine’ plated, and beverages, including beer and wine, and a full bar, are included. The top deck is home to loungers for relaxing in between dives or stargazing in the evening.

Galapagos dive itineraries are 7 nights long and include up to 19 dives, weather permitting. Dives at Wolf and Darwin are the highlight of the trip, and 3 days will be spent here with the chance to see whale sharks, mantas, and schooling hammerhead sharks. There are also land excursions included to experience everything the Galapagos Islands have to offer. The dive deck features warm, fresh-water showers, and hot towels are provided after every dive. Diving from tenders makes getting to and from the dive site hassle-free.

An Adventure to remember!
My highlight was seeing a whale Shark at Darwin arch; seeing 100s of hammer head sharks on the very first dive at Wolf; the ongoing diversity of the diving expereinces was fantastic! Galapagos is a unique experience both on land and in the ocean diving. I loved my naturalist ship cruise with my family members 10 yrs ago and then returned to complete the diving portion late in November no the Galapagos Sky for Liveaboard Dive experiences. The differences between a naturalist ship and cruise vs. the Diving; on a liveaboard are very different experiences and each unforgettable, unique and amazing. The Dives were wonderful and always, very interesting. This was my most challenging Dive experience, to date, but a must do Dive adventure! I prepared for a couple of months prior to the trip, which made all the difference. I did all 19 dives and this was the most challenging in my dive expereinces world wide. I am very happy to have been able to spend a week immersed in the ocean diving with in diverse enviornments seeing so much ocean life, 100s of hamerheads, a whale shark and an ocean garden full of ocean iquanas eating sea grass and moss, seals, tons of fish, large and small ells, we even saw a large Sea Horse and 100s of silky sharks, black tips, white tips. Trip of a lifetime!
The Galápagos diving is phenomenal and the GalápagosSky itinerary and crew did a fantastic job at elevating my experience. The itinerary was designed to optimize our time spent at iconic dive site and they did a great job at incorporating land and zodiac excursions around the islands. Every single one of the crew members, from the kitchen staff to the Captan, made sure we were well taken care of and that all our needs were met and exceeded. Our guides Max and Enrique were very knowledgeable and excited about every dive and it made diving with them extremely enjoyable. I would highly recommend the Galápagos Sky and hope to someday return.

Great boat and crew
This was our second trip on Galapagos Sky. The boat is wide, comfortable, and nicely done inside. The dive deck is wide with plenty of space. The crew is very nice and helpful. Excellent food with a different menu every day. The dives in Galapagos are the best in the World.

Absolutely incredible
The Galapagos alone are amazing, and aboard the Galapagos Sky, everyone goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy every bit of it. The crew were great, the dive guides very experienced, and overall made an incredibly enjoyable week. I appreciated the flexibility of the guides and diving, and their ability to change plans if something interesting came up (i.e. snorkeling with penguins instead of another dive with low visibility). As advertised, these dives are NOT for beginners. The guides treated us as responsible divers and made sure we were equally accountable for our own safety, which is greatly appreciated. Overall an absolutely incredible experience I'll be talking about for a long time!

Once in a lifetime
The dive sites were great, it was a good combination of land excursions as well as some of the bext overall diving around. The dive leaders were extremely competent and knowledgeable. The staff was some of the friendliest I've ever encountered on a ship. It was well maintained, extremely clean, and overall simply amazing.

The best!!
This is the very last item of my bucket list and it's worth the wait. It's my best diving experience ever. Do not miss any dive because every dive is unique. I used to say my best safety stop was Fiji, now it's Galapagos especially the last dive that we were in the tunnel of thousands fish. I think I said the best so many times but it truly is. I will never forget this trip. This would not happen if we did not have the very knowledgeable guides, the great crew service and lovely fellow divers.

World Class Diving with a World Class Crew
The Galapagos Sky is an exceptionally run and maintained ship. The crew sincerely makes every effort to provide for every need before you ask. Safety is of paramount importance. You arrive as a guest but feel like family. Diving face to face with more than a dozen whale sharks of massive size was definitely one of the many highlights. Of course it wouldn't feel like the Galapagos without schools of migrating hammerhead sharks. Even more than 20 mola mola in a single dive! The crew also was exceptionally helpful and careful with my expensive camera equipment. Gourmet dining and libations were the icing on the cake. I plan to return to the Galapagos Islands and will certainly be on the Galapagos Sky!

Trip of a Lifetime!
The volume and variety of sea life- giant manta rays, penguins, sea lions, hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, mola mola, orcas, sea turtles, marine iguanas, red lipped batfish, and huge schools of a variety of fish. Both dive masters on our boat were very helpful, knowledgeable, patient and safety conscious. Their goal was for us to see as much as possible. All meals and snacks were superb. All meals had a great variety of food, and the chef was more than happy to prepare meals for guests with allergies and dietary restrictions. Ship was very comfortable and immaculate. Plenty of space for guests to spread out on the boat.

OVERVIEW The Galápagos Sky delivered one of the most extraordinary diving experiences of my life. From the moment we boarded at San Cristóbal, the crew made it clear this was going to be a very special trip. If you are a serious, experienced diver looking for world-class big animal encounters, this liveaboard belongs on your bucket list. THE STAFF AND CREW - EXCEPTIONAL The staff on the Galápagos Sky are simply outstanding. They went out of their way at every turn to ensure your comfort and wellbeing. They helped you put your dive gear on before every dive, cleaned and rinsed your equipment after each one, and remained genuinely attentive to your needs throughout the trip. This level of personal service is rare and made a real difference after long, physically demanding days in the water. The dive masters were exceptionally knowledgeable - about the dive sites, the marine life, the currents, and the conditions. Safety was always top of mind. Dive briefings were well conducted, thorough, and highly informative, giving you everything you needed to know before entering some of the most challenging water in the world. You always felt confident and prepared. FOOD AND COMFORT The food onboard was genuinely good. The galley catered to individual dietary needs, likes, and dislikes, which was a thoughtful touch for a group of diverse guests. A particular highlight was the hot chocolate served with pastries and fresh fruit after every dive - a very welcome treat after coming out of cold, salty water. It became something everyone looked forward to. A word of honesty about the accommodations: the rooms on the boat are small, particularly the cabins below deck. Your dive bag will not fit in your cabin and needs to be kept topside. This is not actually a problem in practice - once your gear is set up on Day 1, it stays on the dive deck for the entire trip and you simply do not need the bag again until departure. If you are prone to seasickness at all, come prepared with medication. We hit rough seas on several occasions and being below deck amplifies the motion significantly. Do not leave home without seasickness meds - this is not optional advice. THE DAILY SCHEDULE Your day starts around 7am and winds down at approximately 9pm after dinner. These are long, full days and you will be tired. On most days you will complete three dives, with the option of a fourth night dive. The pace is demanding but rewarding. The land excursions and panga rides to explore the islands topside were a genuinely welcome break from diving. Personally, I would have enjoyed slightly more land time and one or two fewer dives in the schedule - the topside wildlife and landscapes of the Galápagos deserve more time than the diving itinerary typically allows. Of the 19 scheduled dives on the trip, I completed 18 - a testament to both the conditions and the effort required. THE DIVING The trip begins with a checkout dive on Day 1, which is important and should not be underestimated. Getting your weighting right on that first dive sets up all your gear for the rest of the trip. Take it seriously. The diving itself is nothing short of spectacular - but it comes with important caveats. The currents at Darwin and Wolf are very strong. For the majority of dives you will be holding onto rocks with both hands, peering out into open blue water watching hammerheads, rays, turtles, and massive schools of fish passing by. The conditions demand a high level of comfort underwater. Negative entries off the panga are standard, as is removing your gear in open water and climbing back onto the panga via a short ladder. If you are not in good physical shape or are not genuinely very comfortable underwater, this trip is not the right choice. Visibility is not what you might expect from a tropical destination - typically in the range of 40 to 60 feet. incredible vessel to explore the galapagos
Great food and best service I have ever received on a liveaboard. Almost all crew is on the dive deck helping people gear up, which is a challenge with all the thick layers, hoods, gloves etc. The crew delivered the cameras and fins to the pangas at departure and collected everything from the pangas upon returning. The crew helped us unpeel all the thermal protection and then rinsed and hung it up to dry for later. The also rinsed our cameras.

Amazing experience
Our experience with Galapagos sky was amazing (even though we have very high standards!). The crew was perfect, always at the right place at the right time to help - pulling your wetsuit to get it off, giving you a hot chocolate as soon as you're back on board, pushing you in the hot shower when you're freezing cold, giving you a hot towel... All the organisation and the catering were perfectly orchestrated all along the way. Land excursions were nice additions to the diving itinerary. The cabin in the lower deck were functional and spacious enough without being too luxurious. In a week we saw a pregnant whale shark, loads of schooling hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, silky sharks, white tips, marble rays, marine iguanas, incredible schools of big eye jacks.... everything we were looking for was there! One thing we noticed is that almost half the divers had already been diving with the same boat and were coming back for more... it says it all. Thanks teams!!!

Nothing short of spectacular
The Galapagos Sky was a truly splendid experience, offering unparalleled encounters with an astonishing array of marine life. The waters revealed a mesmerizing underwater world teeming with vibrant coral reefs, playful sea lions, majestic schooling hammerhead sharks, and whale sharks. Each dive brought thrilling sightings of colorful fish schools, graceful manta rays, and even some of the more elusive species not commonly encountered. Hammerheads galore!!!
Wound up having to remove my Dive partner at the last minute, so my non-diving best friend came with me. The crew made her feel absolutely welcome and even arranged for her to go out on the panga a few times. They did everything to make the two of us feel at home and took care of any request we had. I went from never having seen a hammer head, to seeing more hammerheads than I could possibly count! The crew also had to deal with the additional stress of the tsunami warnings after the Russian earthquake. They handled the entire incident with professionalism, even though I’m sure that they were worried about their families that were on the local islands. I cannot say enough about how fantastic the whole experience was! The entire week was absolutely amazing!

Best liveaboard trip I've ever done
I can honestly say this was far and away the best liveaboard trip I've ever done. Every aspect of the the trip was superb. The boar was comfortable, cabins small but more than adequate, plenty of hot water for showers. Evening turn down service and room tidied several times a day (I almost ofund it embarrassing to have thrown my clothes on my bed before going for a dive and returning to find them all neatly folded on the bed) Crew were amazing, always helpful, especially on the dive deck (I've never had service like it) Food excellent, dietary needs catered to, soft drinks, beer and wine available. The diving was amazing but it is difficult diving - cold water, negative entries and some strong currents, particularly at Darwin's arch. Saw whale sharks of 4/7 dives at Darwin's Arch. Schools and schools of hammerheads. Saw a Molamola too which was pretty exciting. The fish life in general was prolific (good to see). A couple of land visits just finished off the trip nicely. One of the things I loved were that the crew were so passionate about the wildlife... particularly Fabricio (dive guide / ecologist / conservationist / font ofknowledge) who is a living legend and gave talks some evenings about the Galapagos geology / birds / flora and fauna / fish - he seemed to be able to answer any question we asked. The trip was probably the most expensive one I've done - but very much worth it. Only minor niggle - I had my own gear but a few people hired the gear on board - one because the airline lost hers - and several because they were travelling after the trip and didn't want to lug dive gear around tihem. There were a few issues with bcds and wetsuits not available in the right size. I'm travelling for 2 weeks after my trip but am glad I made the effort to take my gear which I'm used to, even if it does mean lugging around a huge dive bag!! cheers
