The Galapagos Sky was built with divers' needs in mind to offer year-round world-class diving in the Galapagos Islands. Refurbished in April 2025, the Galapagos Sky has offered dive liveaboard trips in the Galapagos since 2001, and its captain and crew are among the most experienced in the region. Onboard, 16 passengers are accommodated in 8 private en-suite guest cabins, each featuring two twin beds or one king-size bed, a wardrobe, a mirrored cabinet, and marine-safe toiletries.

The Galapagos Sky liveaboard is fully air-conditioned and offers ample space for rest and relaxation. The main salon features an audio/video entertainment center and a separate dining area where Ecuadorian and international cuisine is served. Dining service is ‘fine’ plated, and beverages, including beer and wine, and a full bar, are included. The top deck is home to loungers for relaxing in between dives or stargazing in the evening.

Galapagos dive itineraries are 7 nights long and include up to 19 dives, weather permitting. Dives at Wolf and Darwin are the highlight of the trip, and 3 days will be spent here with the chance to see whale sharks, mantas, and schooling hammerhead sharks. There are also land excursions included to experience everything the Galapagos Islands have to offer. The dive deck features warm, fresh-water showers, and hot towels are provided after every dive. Diving from tenders makes getting to and from the dive site hassle-free.

The dive sites were great, it was a good combination of land excursions as well as some of the bext overall diving around. The dive leaders were extremely competent and knowledgeable. The staff was some of the friendliest I've ever encountered on a ship. It was well maintained, extremely clean, and overall simply amazing.

Great boat and crew
This was our second trip on Galapagos Sky. The boat is wide, comfortable, and nicely done inside. The dive deck is wide with plenty of space. The crew is very nice and helpful. Excellent food with a different menu every day. The dives in Galapagos are the best in the World.

Trip of a lifetime!
The Galápagos diving is phenomenal and the GalápagosSky itinerary and crew did a fantastic job at elevating my experience. The itinerary was designed to optimize our time spent at iconic dive site and they did a great job at incorporating land and zodiac excursions around the islands. Every single one of the crew members, from the kitchen staff to the Captan, made sure we were well taken care of and that all our needs were met and exceeded. Our guides Max and Enrique were very knowledgeable and excited about every dive and it made diving with them extremely enjoyable. I would highly recommend the Galápagos Sky and hope to someday return.

Best dive adventure ever!
Our dive experience on the Galapagos Sky was second to none. The crew was absolutely fantastic. Let’s talk about the diving first. All of the dives were great and we saw tons of things we’ve never dove with before, including tons of sharks, including Hammerheads, Tiger Sharks, Galapagos sharks, white tips, black tips, and silver tips. Huge sharks by the hundred. We also dove with marine iguanas, Galápagos penguins, sea lions, fur seals, large tunas, and Mola Mola. It was all unbelievable and the guides knew where to find all of the good stuff. When your dive is done, the crew greets you by helping you out of your dive gear and a fresh warm drink and some treat. Then its a warm shower on the fantail and the crew gets your gear ready for the next dive while you relive your experiences with your fellow passengers. Enrique (Quique) and Max were our guides and they were both outstanding. You could not ask for better more knowledgeable guides. The boat itself was quite comfortable and the internet worked surprisingly good. The AC did break down one day and it got hot but the crew worked to the best of their ability to get it fixed. The food onboard was excellent and there was always a choice of what you wanted. The cooks and the server were all first rate. They also asked us out the outset if we had any dietary restrictions and a couple member of our party did have issues but the crew took excellent care of them. Our family trip was a bucket list trip and it definitely was just that. I would unreservedly recommend the Galapagos Sky to anyone considering a live aboard to the Galapagos and I’m sure we’ll be back.

We were very lucky during these 10 days - hundreds of hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, a tiger shark, eagle rays, mantas, and thousands of mobula rays, a whale, .... In short, I'm not going to mention everything but it was an extraordinary experience

Fantastic, Luxurious Diving Experience
I have stayed on many very good liveaboards, but Galapagos Sky is by far the most luxurious and best diving experience I have had. The diving was exceptional. Everything our guide Solon hoped we would see, was exactly where he took us. We saw: Whale Sharks, Rays, Mola Mola, Hammerheads and Galapagos Sharks along with many Turtles, Marine Iguanas and Morays The crew were incredibly helpful, from assisting us to assemble and put on our equipment before each dive, to helping us derig afterwards then whisking our wet suits away to clean. On returning from each dive, we were greeted with a hot drink, snack and warm towel. The food was exceptional with buffet style breakfast and lunch - where our orders were taken from a menu for the evening meal. This was then served to us at the table, the quality being as good as, if not better, than any restaurant. If you are doing a liveaboard in the Galapagos, I cannot recommend The Galapagos Sky enough. It’s not the cheapest option, but it’s undoubtedly the best. Roger, UK, June 2023

OVERVIEW The Galápagos Sky delivered one of the most extraordinary diving experiences of my life. From the moment we boarded at San Cristóbal, the crew made it clear this was going to be a very special trip. If you are a serious, experienced diver looking for world-class big animal encounters, this liveaboard belongs on your bucket list. THE STAFF AND CREW - EXCEPTIONAL The staff on the Galápagos Sky are simply outstanding. They went out of their way at every turn to ensure your comfort and wellbeing. They helped you put your dive gear on before every dive, cleaned and rinsed your equipment after each one, and remained genuinely attentive to your needs throughout the trip. This level of personal service is rare and made a real difference after long, physically demanding days in the water. The dive masters were exceptionally knowledgeable - about the dive sites, the marine life, the currents, and the conditions. Safety was always top of mind. Dive briefings were well conducted, thorough, and highly informative, giving you everything you needed to know before entering some of the most challenging water in the world. You always felt confident and prepared. FOOD AND COMFORT The food onboard was genuinely good. The galley catered to individual dietary needs, likes, and dislikes, which was a thoughtful touch for a group of diverse guests. A particular highlight was the hot chocolate served with pastries and fresh fruit after every dive - a very welcome treat after coming out of cold, salty water. It became something everyone looked forward to. A word of honesty about the accommodations: the rooms on the boat are small, particularly the cabins below deck. Your dive bag will not fit in your cabin and needs to be kept topside. This is not actually a problem in practice - once your gear is set up on Day 1, it stays on the dive deck for the entire trip and you simply do not need the bag again until departure. If you are prone to seasickness at all, come prepared with medication. We hit rough seas on several occasions and being below deck amplifies the motion significantly. Do not leave home without seasickness meds - this is not optional advice. THE DAILY SCHEDULE Your day starts around 7am and winds down at approximately 9pm after dinner. These are long, full days and you will be tired. On most days you will complete three dives, with the option of a fourth night dive. The pace is demanding but rewarding. The land excursions and panga rides to explore the islands topside were a genuinely welcome break from diving. Personally, I would have enjoyed slightly more land time and one or two fewer dives in the schedule - the topside wildlife and landscapes of the Galápagos deserve more time than the diving itinerary typically allows. Of the 19 scheduled dives on the trip, I completed 18 - a testament to both the conditions and the effort required. THE DIVING The trip begins with a checkout dive on Day 1, which is important and should not be underestimated. Getting your weighting right on that first dive sets up all your gear for the rest of the trip. Take it seriously. The diving itself is nothing short of spectacular - but it comes with important caveats. The currents at Darwin and Wolf are very strong. For the majority of dives you will be holding onto rocks with both hands, peering out into open blue water watching hammerheads, rays, turtles, and massive schools of fish passing by. The conditions demand a high level of comfort underwater. Negative entries off the panga are standard, as is removing your gear in open water and climbing back onto the panga via a short ladder. If you are not in good physical shape or are not genuinely very comfortable underwater, this trip is not the right choice. Visibility is not what you might expect from a tropical destination - typically in the range of 40 to 60 feet. The best thing I've ever done
Whilst the price tag is steep, I came away feeling as though my week diving in the Galapagos provided excellent value for money. Varied diving environments and pelagics (whale sharks, hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, silkies, mantas, mola mola etc etc) in large numbers. I was somewhat apprehensive about the diving conditions in the Galapagos before my liveaboard but safety is paramount in dives from the Galapagos Sky. Solon and Christian knowledgeable guides who helped to provide excellent wildlife encounters. Quality of service on the boat high (for example when kitting up before dives etc).

Hee Haw. Return to Galapagos Dive Trip was Amazing.
We completed 15 of the 21 dives offered and we saw huge numbers of fish. It was like being dropped into a massive aquarium. At Wolf dive site there were large numbers of turtles, sharks, hammerheads, sea lions, and more. At Darwin we had 3 different Whale Sharks interact with us. Overall, some of the best large animal sightings of any dive trip we have been on. This dive boat is TOP NOTCH, FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY.

Perfect dive trip to hammerhead and eagle ray spectacle
The under-water-experience with hammerhead sharks, eagle rays, Iguanas and Mola Molas was certainly what we expected: one of the best dive experiences ever! (despite cool water temperatures, especially at the Mola Mola dive site) What we did not expect, but enjoyed as well, was the great support of our dive guides Max and Solon when our under-water camera broke and the helpful hands of the crew when we struggled to get in and out of our thick wetsuits ... including all the warm towels! Equally perfect: the delicious food and drinks ... and the land excursions to Galapagos turtoises, Darwin finches, sea lions, frigate birds and blue-footed boobies.

incredible vessel to explore the galapagos
Great food and best service I have ever received on a liveaboard. Almost all crew is on the dive deck helping people gear up, which is a challenge with all the thick layers, hoods, gloves etc. The crew delivered the cameras and fins to the pangas at departure and collected everything from the pangas upon returning. The crew helped us unpeel all the thermal protection and then rinsed and hung it up to dry for later. The also rinsed our cameras.

The Galapagos alone are amazing, and aboard the Galapagos Sky, everyone goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy every bit of it. The crew were great, the dive guides very experienced, and overall made an incredibly enjoyable week. I appreciated the flexibility of the guides and diving, and their ability to change plans if something interesting came up (i.e. snorkeling with penguins instead of another dive with low visibility). As advertised, these dives are NOT for beginners. The guides treated us as responsible divers and made sure we were equally accountable for our own safety, which is greatly appreciated. Overall an absolutely incredible experience I'll be talking about for a long time!

A truely fabulous dive experience!
The crew were fantastic and really looked after you above and below the water. Their safety was excellent, which was reassuring considering how challenging the diving was. We saw loads of hammerheads, about six whale-sharks, an enormous tiger shark (up close and personal!), sea lions, dolphins.....the list goes on. The wildlife was awesome, but the diving is extremely challenging at times with absolutely incredible currents-onlyfor experienced, confident divers.
