The Galapagos Sky was built with divers' needs in mind to offer year-round world-class diving in the Galapagos Islands. Refurbished in April 2025, the Galapagos Sky has offered dive liveaboard trips in the Galapagos since 2001, and its captain and crew are among the most experienced in the region. Onboard, 16 passengers are accommodated in 8 private en-suite guest cabins, each featuring two twin beds or one king-size bed, a wardrobe, a mirrored cabinet, and marine-safe toiletries.

The Galapagos Sky liveaboard is fully air-conditioned and offers ample space for rest and relaxation. The main salon features an audio/video entertainment center and a separate dining area where Ecuadorian and international cuisine is served. Dining service is ‘fine’ plated, and beverages, including beer and wine, and a full bar, are included. The top deck is home to loungers for relaxing in between dives or stargazing in the evening.

Galapagos dive itineraries are 7 nights long and include up to 19 dives, weather permitting. Dives at Wolf and Darwin are the highlight of the trip, and 3 days will be spent here with the chance to see whale sharks, mantas, and schooling hammerhead sharks. There are also land excursions included to experience everything the Galapagos Islands have to offer. The dive deck features warm, fresh-water showers, and hot towels are provided after every dive. Diving from tenders makes getting to and from the dive site hassle-free.

Great boat and crew
This was our second trip on Galapagos Sky. The boat is wide, comfortable, and nicely done inside. The dive deck is wide with plenty of space. The crew is very nice and helpful. Excellent food with a different menu every day. The dives in Galapagos are the best in the World.

Galapagos Sky is Excellent Over so Many Dimensions
Galapagos Sky is an amazing experience. Everything is done right on this boat. Service is beyond excellent, everyone is 150% helpful at all times. Food was the best we have had in Ecuador overall. Boat is in great condition, well designed and comfortable. Dive sites are spectacular - it is the Galapagos for crying out loud! Especially Darwin and Wolf diving are eye wateringly astonishing. Great job....

Hee Haw. Return to Galapagos Dive Trip was Amazing.
We completed 15 of the 21 dives offered and we saw huge numbers of fish. It was like being dropped into a massive aquarium. At Wolf dive site there were large numbers of turtles, sharks, hammerheads, sea lions, and more. At Darwin we had 3 different Whale Sharks interact with us. Overall, some of the best large animal sightings of any dive trip we have been on. This dive boat is TOP NOTCH, FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY.

Don't look for a better Liveaboard, the Best!
I had no expectations other than the great reviews I read about, I usually dive with a larger dive franchise. The boat was well appointed and luxurious for a live aboard, it was kept spotless at all times. The crew was exceptional, the food was abundant, diverse, and tasty. The chef catered to every dietary restriction the divers could throw his way. Traveled 12/22-12/29 The diving was exceptional, having dove a large part of the world, they guaranteed that the Galapagos diving was a new experience. Sea lions, dolphins, Mantas, marine iguanas and endless hammerheads etc. They travel to Wolf and Darwin islands which are truly the " money shot" dives. The entire crew of 11 is on the dive platform before and after your dives, assisting you in every way possible. Wonderful experience that has set a new bar for our liveaboard experience in the future. Don't hesitate about booking. GG

Trip of a lifetime!
The Galápagos diving is phenomenal and the GalápagosSky itinerary and crew did a fantastic job at elevating my experience. The itinerary was designed to optimize our time spent at iconic dive site and they did a great job at incorporating land and zodiac excursions around the islands. Every single one of the crew members, from the kitchen staff to the Captan, made sure we were well taken care of and that all our needs were met and exceeded. Our guides Max and Enrique were very knowledgeable and excited about every dive and it made diving with them extremely enjoyable. I would highly recommend the Galápagos Sky and hope to someday return.

Spectacular crew, guides and dive boat!!
This was our best liveaboard experience. We have loved all of our dive trips, but this trip was spectacular. I was worried about the cold and the diving was definitely strenuous, but we we came prepared and were very well supervised and cared for. The crew goes above and beyond to help with putting on gear prior to diving, preparing amazing snacks and meals and keeping the boat clean and safe! Our dive guides, Solon and Natasha were so enthusiastic and dedicated to making our experience amazing. The meals were extraordinary and I especially liked spring down to dinner instead of the buffet style. We also had a wonderful group of divers in this trip which made for a very special time. One piece of advice, on the information provided before the trip, we read that we needed a GPS device and a sound alert device. We purchased both, but did not need to. The boats provides these.

Trip of a Lifetime!
The volume and variety of sea life- giant manta rays, penguins, sea lions, hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, mola mola, orcas, sea turtles, marine iguanas, red lipped batfish, and huge schools of a variety of fish. Both dive masters on our boat were very helpful, knowledgeable, patient and safety conscious. Their goal was for us to see as much as possible. All meals and snacks were superb. All meals had a great variety of food, and the chef was more than happy to prepare meals for guests with allergies and dietary restrictions. Ship was very comfortable and immaculate. Plenty of space for guests to spread out on the boat.

The best thing I've ever done
Whilst the price tag is steep, I came away feeling as though my week diving in the Galapagos provided excellent value for money. Varied diving environments and pelagics (whale sharks, hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, silkies, mantas, mola mola etc etc) in large numbers. I was somewhat apprehensive about the diving conditions in the Galapagos before my liveaboard but safety is paramount in dives from the Galapagos Sky. Solon and Christian knowledgeable guides who helped to provide excellent wildlife encounters. Quality of service on the boat high (for example when kitting up before dives etc).

Fantastic, Luxurious Diving Experience
I have stayed on many very good liveaboards, but Galapagos Sky is by far the most luxurious and best diving experience I have had. The diving was exceptional. Everything our guide Solon hoped we would see, was exactly where he took us. We saw: Whale Sharks, Rays, Mola Mola, Hammerheads and Galapagos Sharks along with many Turtles, Marine Iguanas and Morays The crew were incredibly helpful, from assisting us to assemble and put on our equipment before each dive, to helping us derig afterwards then whisking our wet suits away to clean. On returning from each dive, we were greeted with a hot drink, snack and warm towel. The food was exceptional with buffet style breakfast and lunch - where our orders were taken from a menu for the evening meal. This was then served to us at the table, the quality being as good as, if not better, than any restaurant. If you are doing a liveaboard in the Galapagos, I cannot recommend The Galapagos Sky enough. It’s not the cheapest option, but it’s undoubtedly the best. Roger, UK, June 2023

Once in a lifetime
The dive sites were great, it was a good combination of land excursions as well as some of the bext overall diving around. The dive leaders were extremely competent and knowledgeable. The staff was some of the friendliest I've ever encountered on a ship. It was well maintained, extremely clean, and overall simply amazing.

An Adventure to remember!
My highlight was seeing a whale Shark at Darwin arch; seeing 100s of hammer head sharks on the very first dive at Wolf; the ongoing diversity of the diving expereinces was fantastic! Galapagos is a unique experience both on land and in the ocean diving. I loved my naturalist ship cruise with my family members 10 yrs ago and then returned to complete the diving portion late in November no the Galapagos Sky for Liveaboard Dive experiences. The differences between a naturalist ship and cruise vs. the Diving; on a liveaboard are very different experiences and each unforgettable, unique and amazing. The Dives were wonderful and always, very interesting. This was my most challenging Dive experience, to date, but a must do Dive adventure! I prepared for a couple of months prior to the trip, which made all the difference. I did all 19 dives and this was the most challenging in my dive expereinces world wide. I am very happy to have been able to spend a week immersed in the ocean diving with in diverse enviornments seeing so much ocean life, 100s of hamerheads, a whale shark and an ocean garden full of ocean iquanas eating sea grass and moss, seals, tons of fish, large and small ells, we even saw a large Sea Horse and 100s of silky sharks, black tips, white tips. OVERVIEW The Galápagos Sky delivered one of the most extraordinary diving experiences of my life. From the moment we boarded at San Cristóbal, the crew made it clear this was going to be a very special trip. If you are a serious, experienced diver looking for world-class big animal encounters, this liveaboard belongs on your bucket list. THE STAFF AND CREW - EXCEPTIONAL The staff on the Galápagos Sky are simply outstanding. They went out of their way at every turn to ensure your comfort and wellbeing. They helped you put your dive gear on before every dive, cleaned and rinsed your equipment after each one, and remained genuinely attentive to your needs throughout the trip. This level of personal service is rare and made a real difference after long, physically demanding days in the water. The dive masters were exceptionally knowledgeable - about the dive sites, the marine life, the currents, and the conditions. Safety was always top of mind. Dive briefings were well conducted, thorough, and highly informative, giving you everything you needed to know before entering some of the most challenging water in the world. You always felt confident and prepared. FOOD AND COMFORT The food onboard was genuinely good. The galley catered to individual dietary needs, likes, and dislikes, which was a thoughtful touch for a group of diverse guests. A particular highlight was the hot chocolate served with pastries and fresh fruit after every dive - a very welcome treat after coming out of cold, salty water. It became something everyone looked forward to. A word of honesty about the accommodations: the rooms on the boat are small, particularly the cabins below deck. Your dive bag will not fit in your cabin and needs to be kept topside. This is not actually a problem in practice - once your gear is set up on Day 1, it stays on the dive deck for the entire trip and you simply do not need the bag again until departure. If you are prone to seasickness at all, come prepared with medication. We hit rough seas on several occasions and being below deck amplifies the motion significantly. Do not leave home without seasickness meds - this is not optional advice. THE DAILY SCHEDULE Your day starts around 7am and winds down at approximately 9pm after dinner. These are long, full days and you will be tired. On most days you will complete three dives, with the option of a fourth night dive. The pace is demanding but rewarding. The land excursions and panga rides to explore the islands topside were a genuinely welcome break from diving. Personally, I would have enjoyed slightly more land time and one or two fewer dives in the schedule - the topside wildlife and landscapes of the Galápagos deserve more time than the diving itinerary typically allows. Of the 19 scheduled dives on the trip, I completed 18 - a testament to both the conditions and the effort required. THE DIVING The trip begins with a checkout dive on Day 1, which is important and should not be underestimated. Getting your weighting right on that first dive sets up all your gear for the rest of the trip. Take it seriously. The diving itself is nothing short of spectacular - but it comes with important caveats. The currents at Darwin and Wolf are very strong. For the majority of dives you will be holding onto rocks with both hands, peering out into open blue water watching hammerheads, rays, turtles, and massive schools of fish passing by. The conditions demand a high level of comfort underwater. Negative entries off the panga are standard, as is removing your gear in open water and climbing back onto the panga via a short ladder. If you are not in good physical shape or are not genuinely very comfortable underwater, this trip is not the right choice. Visibility is not what you might expect from a tropical destination - typically in the range of 40 to 60 feet. World Class Diving with a World Class Crew
The Galapagos Sky is an exceptionally run and maintained ship. The crew sincerely makes every effort to provide for every need before you ask. Safety is of paramount importance. You arrive as a guest but feel like family. Diving face to face with more than a dozen whale sharks of massive size was definitely one of the many highlights. Of course it wouldn't feel like the Galapagos without schools of migrating hammerhead sharks. Even more than 20 mola mola in a single dive! The crew also was exceptionally helpful and careful with my expensive camera equipment. Gourmet dining and libations were the icing on the cake. I plan to return to the Galapagos Islands and will certainly be on the Galapagos Sky!
