The Calipso liveaboard schedules year-round diving in the Galapagos National Park. Completely renovated in 2019, everything was designed to offer comfort and a fresh, modern environment. There are 6 cabins on the upper deck and 2 cabins on the main deck, each with panoramic windows, en-suite bathrooms, a hairdryer, individually controlled AC, a TV with hundreds of films to choose from, a safety deposit box, USB charging ports, and laminate flooring. Beds are doubles that can be converted into two singles. There is also a single cabin located on the lower deck with no single supplement, subject to availability. At 33m in length, there is more than enough space for 16 guests and 11 crew members on board. Social areas include an indoor salon and dining area, where international and Ecuadorian cuisine is served, featuring fresh local produce and seafood. The top deck has lounge chairs, a BBQ, a bar, and a hot tub.

Calipso Galapagos dive itineraries are 7 nights long and explore the world-famous Wolf & Darwin for the chance to get up close with whale sharks, hammerheads, and dolphins. Calipso also visits Marchena, previously only dived by a few scientists and filmmakers; it is known for having huge pods of dolphins, schools of Hammerheads, and Galapagos sharks. The large dive deck at the back of the boat has rinse tanks, hot water showers, dedicated camera storage and cleaning areas, and personal towels.

Safe and fun.
An important part of a liveaboard experience for me in knowing the crew cares about my safety, and has the skills and equipment to make sure I'm not running into problems. I felt extremely safe on this trip, and appreciated the safety protocols in place. Safety isn't the thing that made this trip enjoyable, though. That came from an enthusiastic crew.

The liveaboard with Calipso was indescribable. The crew really does everything to ensure that guests have an unforgettable stay. Everyone helps, acts courteously and friendly. The procedures and briefings are always clear and comprehensible, while there is always enough fun and moments to laugh about. The culinary supply is worth mentioning, there are varied, extremely tasty dishes that are served appealingly. Diving in the Galapagos Islands is phenomenal and fascinating. The ship is spacious with many areas to feel good. All in all, it was the best decision to book Calipso and experience a wonderful holiday.

Incredible Adventure with a Fantastic Crew
Outstanding attention to detail and fantastic service. Great meals, cleanliness. When launching or bringing in divers the entire crew - cooks to mechanics to dive masters - leap to assist divers off w their gear and suits. The cabins are very nice, thoughtful and modern; AC works great. Only input would be that it might be time to replace older rental suits and BC’s.

The trip was a complete success! Great crew, great dive guides and dive suites. Modern equipment, super delicious food. No wishes remained unfulfilled. The numerous dives at Darwin and Wolf Island have included the best of the best of the Galapagos Islands.

Gets no better
I have been on many liveaboards, the crew, dive setup, and execution on the Calipso are all top notch. If you are headed to the Galapagos, you won't find a better option. Mola mola, iguanas, whale sharks, and all the hammers you can handle. While the encounters are not within the control of the crew, they did everything possible to get the timing right to maximize the chances.

The dive sites really are world class. The abundance of sharks/fish really made this trip a bucket list item. The crew could not have been friendlier and more helpful. I especially liked the massages with a hot towel after every dive. lol. The boat is perfect, lots of space and the dive deck might be the best I have ever seen. The cabins spacious with lots of storage.

Amazing trip to the galapagos
Great trip to the galapagos on the Calipso. The boat was super comfortable and the crew worked hard to make it am amazing experience. There something special about seeing whale sharks, hammerhead schools and playing with sea lions to then be greeted with a shower, warm towel and quick massage when back on board. Hope to return soon!

Awesome trip in the best liveaboard I've been
One day at Darwin, while being surrounded of hammerheads and galapagos sharks as usual, a group of silky sharks decided to surround us feeling curious, we were so excited to have such an experience, when a massive Whale Shark appeared from the deep blowing our minds. Believe what they tell you about the Galapagos, and if you go with this really big and comfortable boat full of details with a crew that enjoys their job, you will be in the perfect hands. (I've been in 3 other liveaboards around the world, so I can compare, this one was the best).

Whale sharks, hamerheads, galapagos sharks, iguanas, turtles, mola mola, pinguine, playful seelions and a lot of others.. The best dive experience ever! Amazing boat, perfect service, experienced dive guides, extremely helpful and friendly staff. I got even suprise for my 100 dive (decoration in my room and big cake). Food was always delicious, jacuzzi after dive was super and there is very nice sundeck. Calipso is top!!!

Fabulous crew, diving, and food!
We had a great trip on the Calipso. The crew were all fun, friendly, and professional. The food was fantastic and there was definitely plenty of it. The diving was magical - we got see almost everything we hoped to see, even though El Niño has hit and I think made it more difficult for the guides to find wildlife, but they did it! We even saw 2 whale sharks and the big school of hammerheads. For some of the dives, trying to see smaller critters with a group of 8 divers was a bit unwieldy, but it really didn’t matter for the big stuff. If possible, it would also be nice if the policy could be for divers who are low on air to surface with their buddy rather than making the entire group end the dive. That said, the diving was incredible and I would do it again without changing a thing. The only reason I didn’t give all 5 stars was because for the price, the boat, specifically our cabin, was in a bit of disrepair and could use some maintenance.

Felt like a dream.
We had a wonderful time on the Calipso. The crew and dive guides were fabulous and the diving was spectacular. We got to see everything we had hoped to see including a mola mola and whale sharks. We were a bit unprepared for how cold the water was, and the rental wetsuits weren't warm enough for us. Luckily we had great fellow divers who offered up extra layers for us.

It is absolutely a pleasure to sail with the Calipso. The cohesiveness of the crew and the service they provided is just at another level. Our guides were super knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Chef should get a Michelin Star. The amenities are modern and perfect, definitely top class. If I’ll come back to the Galápagos, I’ll do it again with the Calipso.

Great dives
The guides I had are great. One is really knowledge about the islands. The other took plenty of photos of the animals and everyone and made a movie for us at the end. The food is amazing for a liveaboard. Rooms are spacious and bright. Water is frigid. They will tell you average water temperature is 23 oC in December. That is the warmest water we encountered. Half the dives had a temperature between 16 and 19. Bring some shorties in addition to the 7mm

Perfection on the Ocean
Absolutely stunning boat and amazing crew! There's no better boat in the Galapagos : huge super comfy cabins with panoramic windows, very good and diverse food, and a crew with a very very big heart who takes good care of every one! Our trip was a really exceptional human experience. Thanks again Calipso and her crew. The diving was as expected in the Galapagos : one of the best in the world! We saw so many sharks, rays, sealions and dolphins on our dives that we thought we were dreaming. If I have a chance to come back to the Galapagos, I'd like to go on Calipso again for sure. Everything was so perfect!
