The M/Y Aqua liveaboard in the Galapagos offers the choice of 7-night diving itineraries or 3, 4 or 5-night naturalist itineraries. Nine cabins spread over 3 decks cater to 16 guests onboard and a choice of twin or matrimonial bedding. Each room features a private en-suite bathroom, individually controlled air-conditioning, and storage space. Main and upper deck cabins also have picture windows to offer sea views. Social areas dotted around the yacht include a shaded outside lounge, sun deck, indoor lounge, and library and dining area. The cuisine served on board combines local Ecuadorian and international cuisine.

A wide range of activities is included in all itineraries, giving guests a chance to get up close and experience the unique wildlife of the Galapagos Islands. Naturalist cruises include guided hikes, bird-watching, and incredible photography opportunities. Divers will be blown away by the amazing marine biodiversity, with the chance to see whale sharks, schooling hammerheads, and even Mola Mola. A spacious dive deck has plenty of room for kitting up and gear storage. Two diving tenders make diving from the MY Aqua a comfortable experience, and enriched air nitrox is available for those certified. Divers will also receive a personal marine rescue GPS, a storm whistle, a diving beacon, and a surface marker tube for added safety and peace of mind.

Note: 50 logged dives is the minimum required experience for the Aqua, due to the more advanced conditions of certain dive sites.

Had a great week on Aquas Pengiuno live aboard. The crew are outstanding, attending to every need with no issue. The quantity, quality and variety of doos was incredible considering its prepared on board in a small kitchen. The diving was amazing as you would expect at this location. All diving is done from RHIB’s and again the crew helping you get kitted up and into the RHIB are outstanding. So helpful. The dive guides are incredibly knowledgeable about the locations and history of the dive sites and islands. Added an extra element to the trip to understand the formation of the islands. Being there in September we were lucky enough to see everything we hoped to including whale shakes. Hammerheads, manta rays and even orcas. If I was lucky enough to go again, I would go with this boat again. Everything from being met at the airport to the diving was managed seamlessly by the company and the crew.

Amazing diving and great value for money
Great Liveaboard with great dive spots. The Aqua boat „Penguino“ might be a little smaller than others, but everything is very good. Super experienced guides, good food every day, sufficient chill out areas. And the diving is amazing, even though we were affected by warmer water temperatures due to El Niño this year.

It was an amazing dive trip!
We had a great experience with Aqua liveaboard. It was much better than anticipated. The guides and wait staff were so professional and helpful. The chef always had fresh fruits, vegetables, and a tasty variety at all meals. The only suggestion I have is to test for covid daily and have a separation of the positive people.

Fantastic trip!
We saw lots of sharks, eagle and manta rays, even a couple mola mola and marine iguanas. The rental equipment is well maintained and safety is priority. The crew kept the boat clean, always helpful with any concerns and always with a smile. The dive guides are also naturalists with lots of info while on the panga rides and giving informative talks about the islands in the evenings. Only thing I would change is the beer to the Pilsener! 😁

Beautiful Marine Life in a special high value liveaboard
We experienced for the first time the awe-inspiring underwater terrain of the Galapagos. We got to see whale sharks, mantas, mola mola, more hammerheads than we could count, marine iguanas and sea lions. We went as a group of seven friends and enjoyed the dives and crew immensely. They were organized and professional. All gear was available and setup for you. We used two inflatables to get our different divers out to the sites, and did up your four dives a day. It was just an awesome value for the price. No need to go on more expensive liveaboard... the marine life, crew experience are the same. Give Aqua a try! Will go again.

Great value for money
I will recommend this liveaboard for the quality and effort of the diving guides, who worked hard and performed very positive changes to the original itinerary for us to see and enjoy the wildlife of Galapagos (2 extra dives in Darwin and Wolf to compensate poor visibility and conditions in Cape Marshall). We saw everything there is to see in Galapagos, including large schools of hammerheads, whale shark, galapagos sharks, galapagos bullhead shark, mola molas, galapagos redlip batfish, oceanic mantas, marine iguanas and large etcs, during a week of diving coinciding with early El Niño. The boat might be less fancy and limited than others, but has some of the best diving guides and economic proposal in the archipelago. Food was good in quality and amounts, and the boat and rooms were always clean. If you wish to explore Galapagos underwater at a competitive price this is a great option.

NO NEED TO KEEP SEARCHING - BOOK THE AQUA!
We looked at ALOT of Liveaboard options, but the Aqua is seriously all you need! Do NOT waste money on those more expensive liveaboards - the crew were absolutely fantastic and helped with literally everything: our luggage, donning our gear, refilling our tanks, having hot beverages and a warm snack after every dive, and OH MY GOSH the food. The food was incredible and there was something different every single day at every single meal. Prepare to gain weight on this trip because they feed you! The dive guides were incredibly knowledgeable about the dive sites, the animals, the history - just everything. I honestly feel like we got off cheap for the value you get on this particular ship! Ship name is registered as the Pinguino Explorer but is now called the AQUA. We went January 3-January 10 of 2023 and I wore a 5mm wetsuit and was comfortable. My husband wore 4/3 wetsuit for most of the dives but switched to a 7mm wetsuit for one day that was chilly. One thing to note that I didn’t realize is you have to have gloves to dive in the Galapagos. Thank goodness the crew had extra for us to rent, but I know this isn’t always the case - so just be forewarned about that part! We cannot wait to have this experience again and would absolutely book the Aqua again! Gracias por todos!!!

Overall it was ok
Overall it was a nice cruise. The service was good and the buffet meals satisfying. The room that I was assigned didn’t have any window but it was nice. The guide we had tried their best to give us a good experience. We didn’t have much luck in mid may since the temperature of the water was too high and the hammer head sharks in wolf and Darwin were really few at 25/30 meters. We should had gone deeper but the use of nitrox and Galapagos park regulations didn’t let us do it. The buddy that was assigned to me wasn’t really good on buoyancy and air consumption and forced us to finish the dive early twice compared to the group. On later dives the guy in charge of the kitchen service joined us to pair with the divers that had to get out before. Considered the hefty price that must be paid to take part to cruise I’m not really sure if it is the best option compared to single dive trip that cost around 220$ and can be easy arranged in San Cristobal or puerto ayora

An unforgettable experience!
We always wanted to see hammerhead sharks. It became almost boring after the 2nd day of diving, because there were always hammerhead sharks to be seen. :-)) Fun! It was just awesome!! I also saw a tiger shark! The eagle rays are amazing, so cozy and above all close! Due to the rampant bird flu, parts of the national park were still closed, so it was not possible to reach the western areas. So unfortunately not diving with iguanas or seeing the little penguins. Maybe next time. But I did 8 dives on Darwin and 7 on Wolf, it was just terrific! Every dive is different and always experiences special moments. Snorkeling with the seals was made possible by the boat crew, it was amazing! Sharks also around the boat, a pleasure to sit in the evening and watch over the railing, as well as the pelicans that hunt around the boat. There have also been gannets and frigate birds landing on the boat from time to time. So there is always something great to experience, be it above or below.On the last day we also made the trip to the tortoises on Santa Cruz, also an unforgettable experience.The staff was great, as were the dive guides Solon and Jesus, who are freelancers but are still fully committed! The kitchen was magical! Great menus every day and the best food. The boat itself is now not super luxurious, but suitable for the affordable price compared to the other boats, we felt comfortable after we had overcome the jet lag and were then able to sleep well in our bunk :-). Boat for 16 divers, on our tour there were only 10 of us, so really enough space for everyone. We were lucky, currently still 100 € national park fees and 20 € transit card, from August it will double, but in our opinion it will still be more than worth the experience!We will definitely come back sometime!

Amazing itinerary and guiding, wonderful staff - highly recommended!
This cruise exceeded all my expectations! The itinerary is undoubtedly the best you can get for a week, tailormade for exploring all the most amazing endemic species of Galapagos. Thanks to our guides (Christian "Cocarocha" and Christian Garcia) we encountered whale sharks, eagle rays, giant manta, other stingrays and peruvian torpedo rays, octopus, red-lipped batfish, mola-mola (moon fish), marine iguanas, sea lions, Galapagos sharks, hundreds of hammerheads and turtles. The friendly and helpful staff made it as effortless as a liveaboard cruise with 19 dives in a week can possibly be. And hey - the Chef: Totally awesome! New dishes each day with local food (a lot from the sea), neatly arranged on our plates. Apetizers and dessert. In practice, two dinners per day. Undoubtedly, the trip of our lifetime!

Dive the Galapagos aboard the Aqua!
Because the dive companies cooperate, we had spectacular dive sites to ourselves. We were not there for high season, but still saw an incredible selection of biodiversity. The food onboard was delicious and plentiful. On many liveaboards, we are the youngest divers, but this trip was full of really fun younger people. We would dive with the Aqua again!

I had an amazing time aboard the Aqua. From the moment I met with the crew, everything was a breeze. I didn’t need to worry about anything during the duration of the trip.
