Completely renovated in 2019, the MY Sunlight liveaboard is a 34m yacht offering year-round Red Sea dive safaris. She caters to 20 guests in 10 modest cabins, each with single and double beds, individually controlled air-conditioning, and private ensuite bathrooms. The indoor salon and dining room feature air-conditioning, comfortable sofas, and a drink station. A large, partially covered sunbathing area and an outdoor lounge are on the upper deck. The perfect place to hang out with your new dive buddies to swap dive stories at the end of the day.

Located at the stern of the boat is a large dive deck with rinse tanks, storage space, and a platform for easy entry into the 2 zodiacs or straight into the water. Divers can choose 3 itineraries, the North Route, South Route, and Deep South Route, aboard the M/Y Sunlight. The North Route is perfect for wreck lovers with dives as the world-famous SS Thistlegorm, Rosalie Muller, and Carnatic, as well as reef dives at Ras Mohammed National Park & Tiran. The Southern Red Sea route offers amazing drift diving and big fish action at the Brothers, Elphinstone, and Daedalus. For the more adventurous, the Deep South Route explores that little bit further to St. Johns for pristine diving and stops at Rocky, Zabargad, and Elphinstone.

Family atmosphere like at home
We had a great week of vacation!Generally speaking, the whole team is super nice and everything is very well organized. Even before arriving there are many exchanges to organize our pick-up at our hotel (included in the price). You can board the boat, eat and sleep there the day before departure, while all passengers arrive. You are very quickly put at ease and you feel at home!Once on board we never lacked anything. The staff was very caring. The boat was very clean and we were 15 divers so not too many. There were plenty of common areas so that we didn't have to lock ourselves in the cabins. The boat is certainly smaller than others but there is everything you need on board and we don't step on each other.Our cabin on the lower deck was small but very good and more than enough. We slept very well. The shower is very hot with pressure and it's very appreciable when you come back from the dives when the water was at 24°C!The meals on board were all excellent and above all very varied. We had local food but also a little more international dishes. The 2 chef brothers cook wonderfully, they delighted us! The buffet was generous, we were able to help ourselves multiple times. On board, everything is included (even sodas) except beers which are extra. And if you're afraid of feeling peckish between dives, there are always a few self-service snacks.As for the dives, we didn't get to see a lot of sharks but we did some great dives and saw some beautiful underwater scenery. Despite a group of 9 people + our guide, we never felt like we were part of an underwater summer camp. Our guide was able to give enough freedom to each of us while ensuring guidance and safety. This is something we enjoyed immensely as dive instructors. Thank you for that!

Great experience for good money
We had a really good time during our 8d/7n trip with the sunlight. The crew is super friendly and anxious 24/7. The food is amazing and fresh and they try to serve all the leftovers from the days before in a new and modern way of cooking. I really love that! Please don't stop this. Diving was great, we did 17 dives at Deadalus, big and small brother, elphinstone, Abu Dabba and Marsa shouna. The guide is really great. He makes diving safe and guards you properly through the red sea. We saw many Longimanus and a silk shark, Mantas, Murray eel and many colorful fish and corals. We did one night dive which was amazing, loved it! Guest were mostly Russians, just 6 European guests (including us). There is a free group transfer from Hurghada Airport (just ask for it via email, otherwise they support you with a private transfer which we payed 60€ for, because flight times didn't fit). The boat itself is not a brand new one but still offers everything you need. Definitely recommended!

Amazing experience for a first liveaboard
First time on a liveaboard and it couldn't have been better ! The dives were great, the crew was nice and helpful, the food was magnificent. The reefs are very beautiful and we had some luck with sharks and turtles. Everyone on the boat got along great and it was a really fun time. The Liveaboard team was also excellent, answering all our questions and accommodating to our requests.

We got to see several sharks, pots of moray eels and turtles. The reef fish were abundant and variety was amazing.

Very nice trip ! The diving sites were beautiful. The cabin we had on the upper deck was large and comfy. The crew was friendly and helpful. The other guests were all from different countries so it was really cool talking together and socializing. The food onboard was really nice and the cook always prepared special dishes for me since I’m vegetarian. The guides have a perfect knowledge of the sites and are very professional. We would just have preferred if they’d have given us more instructions and advices on how to behave with the sharks, dolphins and all. Because we were a big groupe(9ppl) and everybody would just swim toward them so the sharks and all were annoyed and they would just swim away real quick. I think part of the problem was also the size of the groupe which should perhaps be divided in smaller groupes even though it takes more than 2 guides. Also be careful if you want to do the night dive you will need a torch, you can’t go without one. So if you don’t have your own or if your didn’t rent one they have no spare onboard. Same for the rest of the gear. They have no spare of nothing so be careful with you equipment. Anyways, we really enjoyed this trip very much and had a good time both onboard and underwater. We really recommend it as long as you’re okay with the few downsides we gave.

Great and well run fuss-free dive safari for more experienced divers.
A Russian company (so expect a lot of Russians) it was a refreshing experience for a more adult diving crowd. Not too many rules or hand-holding, people left to their own devices and a great atmosphere in the evenings. Really good food and lots and lots of it, great diving conditions and good guides, good value for money and if you know how to dive already this is a great trip and company to do it with.

Diving was super nice, we did a very complete north route, Hamada, our local guide is super good, he loves what he do and allowed us to enjoy long dives in the best spots, very good guide with lots of patience, also Daria, the other guide, super good and doing her best for us. I find the groups were quite big, another guide would have made it better reducing the amount of divers per group. The staff of the boat were all attentive and doing the best for us, special attention to Mahmoud and the cook who prepared us delicious food

We had a nice safari at a fair price with an incredibly friendly, competent and helpful crew fe us together with the great food the really small cabins incidentally
2x we were lucky enough to be able to "play" with dolphins under water.The Thistlegorm - a great wreck, mega dive site, must see.The things we saw, the crew and the fabulous food (even if there was no beach BBQ as described by Liverboard) and the really cheap price makes us fully recommend this boat. Only with the very small and somewhat stuffy cabins you have to be able to turn a blind eye. If you don't expect a luxury bedroom but value friendliness and great dives, this is the place for you. We had 2 guides on board with 14 divers. That was ok. At full occupancy, however, the groups would be too large for me with 10 divers per guide.

Lovely Diving experience in the Red Sea
The MS Sunlight is among the other yachts in the field for sure one of the older, a bit used and smaller ones. But after a few moments of getting used to it that's not an obstacle at all. Our guide had been really amazing. Very good briefings and coordination of the overall trip and experience. There had been a few situations where I would had appreciated a proper debriefing of the dive to optimize the flow and level out small misunderstandings and differences in experience among the participants. Besides that very professional handling of the overall trip. The food was also really good and diverse. Also for vegetarians they prepared separate tasty dishes. Rooms are sufficient in size and clean. The whole crew is very friendly, attentive and helpful. The boat is managed by a Russian operator and has a focus on that target group. In our case the participants had been a mix of different countries. I had taken rental equipment from the boat. Unfortunately the jacket had the wrong size and the mouth piece of the regulator was broken. I recommend checking the equipment in Hurghada before entering the shuttle bus with the equipment and crew in case you may rent something. Overall excellent value for the money and highly recommended.

First liveaboard experience
It was my first liveaboard experience, and I would definitely choose the Sunlight again. The atmosphere on board was fantastic, both among the divers and the crew. I was really impressed by the quality of the food; every meal was fresh, varied, and delicious. The chefs did an outstanding job, and Mahmud took great care of us throughout the trip. We did the southern route, and although the dives were beautiful, I was a little disappointed by the marine life. I was expecting to see more sharks, especially since we travelled in mid-October, which is supposed to be a good season for them.

Brilliant liveaboard experience!
The chef is a wizard! The food was really amazing! Diving is beautiful and the guides are very knowledgeable. Cabins are comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Such a good price for a perfect trip! The boat is mostly Russians so it is sometimes hard to fit in. Would be nice to have a variety of nationalities. Other than that, I cannot fault this trip. Perfect!

3x dolphins (2nd dolphin house, 1x near Thistlegorm) Brilliant, very tasty food (the chef is an artist), great very accommodating crew.Disadvantage: the engine smokes - since the engine compartment is not airtight to the cabin tract, the exhaust gases penetrate into the bedrooms depending on the wind position of the boat.

I am satisfied and I would come again
Good service, friendly crew, good food, competent diving guides and very varied, safe and thoroughly discussed dives. Free nitrox 28-30%. The boat is modestly equipped, but it is clean and everything works properly except the Internet. The living room and dining room are the same room. There is very little space in most cabins (lower deck), but at the low price you can't have high expectations. Air conditioning in cabins and salon works well. The towels are very worn - they should be replaced with new ones. There is no problem with communicating in English with the crew and diving guides. Most of the guests were Russians because the boat belongs to a Russian diving center (Sadko) - for some guests this may be an advantage, for others a language problem, for others an additional attraction or a disadvantage.
