The Ghazala Explorer liveaboard in Egypt is a modern 37mtr/121ft motor yacht offering itineraries throughout the Red Sea area. It can take up to 24 guests in 12 air-conditioned, ensuite cabins, consisting of 9 twin bed and 3 double bed cabins, including suites. Ghazala Explorer has a spacious, bright indoor dining and lounge area for guests to enjoy prepared meals or relax with a drink. There is a sun deck with seating areas, bean bags, and either covered or open areas for those who prefer to be in the sunshine. A large dive deck to the rear allows storage of dive equipment and plenty of space to get ready for dives, and the rear platform makes getting on and off the tenders more accessible.

Amazing boat
This was our second time with the Ghazala, and this trip was as great as the first. Great food, clean cabins, excellent dive organization. The crew was always fun, friendly and helpful, (fire) safety protocols in place and of course wonderful diving!

Excellent livaboard
All the dives sites were fantastic, the crew were amazing and the food was delicious. The cabin was very comfortable. Overall, an amazing week diving in the red sea. Highlights during diving were the hammerheads, silky sharks and manta rays. Some of the other divers saw oceanic white tips. The crew went above and beyond to make this trip amazing. Thank you to Mousa, Moustafa, Reda, Abou El Hassan, Ashraf, Sambo , Eid, Ibrahim, Hassan, Omda (ya basha!), Mohamed, Islam, Mahdy and anyone else I have missed.

Colorful north Red Sea diving
Red Sea diving was better than I expected. Visibility was great and corals were colorful. Enjoyed diving in such close proximity to the dolphins also.

Amazing trip to the North

A week full of beautiful dives where everything around is just right!
The trip on the Ghazala Explorer was simply a complete success! The crew and guides were extremely accommodating and eager to make you feel completely comfortable. The dives are great and professionally planned, you feel safe at all times. There is no shortage of food either. In addition, it has an extremely good quality. It's amazing what the bosses were able to conjure up in a small ship's kitchen. The interior has recently been modernized and is tastefully designed. We had a very nice cabin on the upper deck.

I recently had the pleasure of going on a diving trip aboard the Ghazala Explorer liveaboard, and I must say it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Ahmed, Moussa, and the entire crew did a phenomenal job in every aspect. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about providing us with an unforgettable diving adventure. The dive spots they guided us to were nothing short of breathtaking, showcasing the beauty of the underwater world. From vibrant coral reefs to mesmerizing marine life, every dive was a new and exciting exploration. I can't thank Ahmed, Moussa, and the crew enough for their dedication and hospitality throughout the trip. Their expertise and genuine enthusiasm made this journey truly memorable. In addition to the exceptional diving experience, the on-board chefs also deserve a special mention for proposing delicious meals that kept us energized for each dive. The rooms were well maintained, providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere to relax after an exhilarating day of diving. Best boat on the red sea?!
This is our second Liveaboard with Ghazala Explorer and we did not regret it for 1 second. Everyone in our group agreed, this is the best ship on the Red Sea. Rooms were spacious, dive guides were great and funny (I especially enjoyed annoying Achmed), food was amazing, crew was extremely helpful in any way they could, especially helping on and off our diving gear, organisation is spot on, there is really nothing negative I can think of... We will definitely return for a 3th trip with Ghazala Explorer! Dimi & Stefan

We had a great trip in a beautiful upper deck suite. The Crew was everytime very helpful and we've been very confident. The divespots in the north are outstanding with its diversity and a great Mix of reefs and wrecks.

Truly great Red Sea dive trip.
It's a very comfortable boat: large enough to have room to move around and be stable on the water, but small enough so divers can get to know one another. Cabins had plenty of room and storage space. New sites every day. Before each dive the briefings by a dive guide, with audiovisual assist, were complete and understandable. The deck staff both before and after the dives were everywhere assisting with gear and helping in any way they could. Always a snack and a drink waiting when we came up. My wife and I were encouraged to get nitrox certified and we did; looking at the nitrox log I saw that everyone else on the boat, now including us, were using nitrox blend. The reefs weren't the best I've seen, having dived in Belize and Palau and Roatan, among others, but they were always good and often amazing. The emphasis was on spotting pelagics and we did see some; I'm more of a reef and small critter person and could have used more of that. Since it was my first time there, I stuck with a guided group for almost all my dives and this generally went well; the guides were all pros and kept a good eye on us. Some interesting caves on some of the dives which gave nice variety. We took a RIB excursion to see dolphins up close but did not see any in the one place where we could actually get in the water with them, but the snorkeling was fun. Loved the night dives. Full days every day, up at 6 and in the water not long after, with dinner usually around 9 after the night dive, if there was one. Great food, a mix of Western and Egyptian that was tasty and varied, and there was plenty of it. They seemed proud of it and deservedly so.

Great diving from an excellent boat
Having been on quite a few liveabords by now I can confidently say this has been the best one so far. The ship's general layout is the same as most liveaboard boats in the red sea, but the attention to detail and many thoughtful details really made a difference (plenty of charging outlets, plenty of drying space etc.). The crew has been amazing - extremely professional and always there to help with absolutely anything about your diving day to an extent that even seemed funny at times - like it's okay, I can grab my water bottle myself, but thank you for handing it to me ;). The same goes for the two dive guides - extremely experienced, they could probably navigate through the dive sites with their eyes closed and made sure to point out all the details that were easy to miss. At the same time, they gave the most thorough briefings I have ever encountered and made safety a top priority I particularly loved how the team was able to accomodate a request for an uncommon dive site during the trip. The food has been very tasty, varied and plentiful, but to be fair, this goes for every liveaboard I have been on ;). So thanks a lot guys, I will certainly try to book this boat in particular for future red sea trips.

Relaxed and stress-free safari on a super boat
All in all, it was extremely good. The food was delicious, the cabins large, bright and clean.The common areas were comfortable and large. You never had the feeling of too many people or crampedness. We actually all got along well and chatted a lot between dives and exchanged photos. Great friendships have developed.The dive guides always explained the dive ponts to me in detail and described the current, I never felt unsafe.You could always go diving with a guide or on your own with Buddy. It was never hectic, which was very important to me. Most of the time we dived directly from the boat or with Zodiac. We had stunning dives with deflines, large schools of fish, octopus, stonefish, lionfish and very beautiful wrecks. I would love to come back. 10 of 10👍

A boat which I would recommend to all my friends. Guides love their job and don’t push for short and fast dives. There is always the possibility to dive unguided to explore the dive sites on your own
Just get on the boat and dive. The crew will make sure you get everything you need to have fantastic dives for a hole week.

It was incredibly beautiful, best liveaboard I ever been
The whole trip as a package was incredibly extraordinary, it exceeded all my expectations. The crew was very friendly and helped us every minute during the trip. Dive guides were just amazing by choosing the right sites, and giving us advanced divers the freedom to enjoy the dive sites unguided. Diving was suberb, lots of colorful corals with a beautiful reef life, and nice wrecks, and my personal highlight with multiple dolphin encounters. Have been on many livaboard, this one was the best so far, therefore can only recommend it. Thanks for the whole Ghazala Team

Relaxed liveaboard with helpful crew
We booked the North Wreck tour. The boat was full, but you didn't notice it. Especially the crew was always very helpful. I know that differently from other boats. The only indication is that you can see the signs of wear on the boat. Especially in the bathroom in the cabins. That's not bad, but you should know because the boat is advertised as completely new. Overall, definitely a recommendable ship.
