The Discovery I liveaboard offers year-round Red Sea dive safaris. She was built with divers' needs in mind and has 10 double and twin cabins comfortably accommodating up to 20 guests onboard. There are 6 twin cabins on the lower deck and 4 double or twin cabins on the upper deck, all featuring air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, and storage space. The main indoor salon and dining room, located on the main deck, are modern and bright, with comfortable seating for all guests. On the upper deck is a bar and outdoor lounge, perfect for enjoying the sea breeze and a drink at the end of the day, and a spacious sundeck with mattresses for sunbathing or relaxing in between dives.

The Discovery I liveaboard offers a variety of 7-night itineraries that allow divers to explore some of the best dive sites in the Red Sea, including the Deep South and Elphinstone route and the Northern Red Sea, Wrecks, and Ras Mohammed. A spacious dive deck and swim platform are located at the back of the boat, with ample space for gearing up. Two tenders are on hand for easy drop off and pick up at the dive sites. My second great trip on this boat
I have done two trips on Discovery 1, one in 2025 and one in 2026, each time the boat and crew have been absolutely ideal and I couldn't be happier. I had a lower deck cabin which is small as expected but I didn't spend time there other than sleeping, the boat common areas are all very nice. The food on the boat was really great and when I stayed in a hotel in Hurghada after my trip I found the hotel food really disappointing by comparison. The crew and dive guides are friendly and hard working and I couldn't ask for more. I would happily book Discovery 1 again.

Great first experience visiting the Red Sea. Pricing: is the price advertised plus any rental gear, plus €175 for surcharges, plus any beer/wine/pod coffee consumed onboard, plus a “mandatory tip” - in my opinion this shouldn’t be a thing but if the crew actually get the tips then they deserve it because they work hard and are very helpful. The younger ones are playful and fun too. Rental gear: all good and working as expected. Cabins: limited cupboard space but the crew will store your larger suitcases elsewhere so they’re not in the way. The beds are very hard and the engine is quite loud idling (at least if you’re downstairs). And very loud if the boat is moving at night. So good sleep is not guaranteed. Maybe bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Toiletries are advertised, but you only have one general purpose soap in your bathroom. You get an inside towel and an outside towel and cabins are cleaned daily. Our USB ports didn’t work in the cabin but I had a battery, plus there are plenty outside sockets for everyone. Guides: As with any liveaboard, some dive guides are better than others. I think mine didn’t want to be there (bored/overworked/tired) and didn’t offer the enthusiasm I expected. Not many fish were pointed out, and less experienced divers were not given help to improve their buoyancy - many corals were sadly kicked. But air was checked and in general seemed very safe. Some sites have option to go unguided. Divesites: good dive sites, occasionally overcrowded but not always. A couple had mild currents but nothing major. No dives on arrival or departure day, and only 2 in the morning the previous day so good to book a flight on last day if needed (24h after last dive!)

This is one in a lifetime trip with great Dive Lead
The underwater was great but the staff, headed by Peter the dive Lead, was superb and could feel their passion for the job they do. Food was delicious, the chef and Ruby were super accommodating to requests and they help you in everything, making the dive experience safe and unforgettable (and on the boat too). I was one of the least experienced but I felt all the time taken care of, and I managed to enjoy a lot my first dives inside a wreck. Peter was also spooting all sort of creatures, octopus, moray eel, white tip shark, etc.. even a giant whale shark ! I'm looking forward to repeat it in the south area.

Professional and fun dive guides who are always doing extra-effort for their guests to fully enjoy experience. Great itinerary which gives ability to do diversified dives, including very nice coral reefs, shark diving and the best wrecks I've ever seen (SS Thistlegorm and Salem Express). A very well organized and thoughtful liveaboard with a great crew and great dive sites. The food was very good and plentiful. The highlight was a 15-member Dolphin group swimming around us for minutes.

A great diving week in the North.
Great dive trip overall. Possibility to do 21 dives in 6 days. Great dive sites and extra efforts made to do something special - for example looking for hammerhead sharks, which we found. My group was overall advanced and coherent, so guided dives were very good. However, the other group was less equal and some divers were frustrated that some dives had to be finished early because some parts of the group ran out of air. All divers consuming a lot of air should be very strongly recommended to take 15l tanks. The quality of the boat and of the cabins was overall very good considering the very moderate price. All the crew made a lot of effort to make the trip special, including special settings for the dinner, birthday and anniversary celebrations, etc. The food was very good, better than expected. The only small hiccup was that in the itinerary it was said there could be a night dive at Thistlegorm, while during the trip it was said that such dives are not allowed, which is clearly not true. More honesty would be better that either the conditions are uncertain or that some divers lack the experience to do a night dive at such a (quite deep) wreck dive site. Nevertheless I would recommend this boat 100%.

I had a wonderful time
Everything was perfect for me. Mo the guide was excellent. The Red Sea is always amazing diving. Lots of oceanic white tips, beautiful corals and many gorgeous fish. The food was great. I thoroughly enjoyed my week on the the Amelia.
We were very lucky during our dive on the south side of Elphinstone. Sharks and Dolpins in one dive. This more than made up for the north side and some of the other relatively mundane dive sites. In general if you like diving on reefs with coral gardens / pinnacles or through cave systems that are open to light above then this is the trip for you. The deep south tour is not something you should take if you are more interested in just seeing some sharks.

I had an amazing week, I didn't really know what to expect, this extraordinary, the crew always has a little word, a smile, they help us with each dive, they are really benevolent. The instructors are top notch I was supervised / Ramadan. and the chef cooks 🥰 he delighted us. You have to live it to believe it. The amazing dives, there were night dives every day. I had taken my 93-year-old dad with me, it's not necessarily to be done, but he has stars in his eyes. He is a former sailor and a former diver.I will come back to the Dicovery 1

Amazing week on the Red Sea
We booked this trip never having been to the Red Sea before based on the value, itinerary, and the dates. We got on the boat in Hurghada and went north (also Brothers). From the second we boarded the boat, we felt welcomed by the crew. Our cabin was well appointed- we had 2 single beds and a private shower/toilet. There were closet/shelves to store our clothing and gear and the A/C worked very well. They had warm blankets on the beds to keep warm at night when chilly. The only thing I would say was that a mat outside the shower/toilet room door would have been nice since I was slippery with wet feet- we used and extra towel and that worked perfectly. The dive deck was set up perfectly- our wetsuits would hang up between dives, there was a crate for the rest of our gear so nothing got lost. I have a medium sized UW camera setup and though there was no designated place for it on the dive deck, the crew always made sure it was in a safe place. The crew was SO helpful and attentive- helping me get my wetsuits zipped up, to helping me get my gear on, to putting my fins on, and then helping me after the dive, it was great. The dive guides were amazing and the dive briefings were very helpful. I felt very safe in the water, even on the unguided dives. We had 19 dives including 3 night dives, a drift dive, several wreck dives, and tons of wall dives. Last but not least, the food and service. It was superb. The food was top notch (I highly recommend crepes and Nutella at breakfast) and there was always something for everyone. My travel buddy had her birthday the week were out on the Red Sea and they decorated and made a cake for her- truly special. I will warn coffee drinkers that all we had was NesCafe but it wasn’t the worst and it made a real cup of coffee when we were back on dry land that much better. I would hands down return to the Amelia Discovery again- in fact I cannot wait to go back and enjoy another week on the boat with an amazing crew!

It was amazing jornney!
It was our (me and my wife) very first diving safari. We saw langimanus, hammerhead, napoleon-fish, silky shark, Spanish dancer, manta ray and dolphins from the yacht. The guides Peter and Darya were always as underwater as onboard helpful and very empathic. The food was diverse and delicious, 10 out of 10. We will plan our next safari in Red See only with Discovery. Thanks the team for amazing experience and adventure!!!

What an amazing trip!
The overall experience was incredible. The boat, the food, the crew, the guides, and of course the dives. Everything was organized flawlessly and efficiently, and I didn’t believe we would be able to see oceanic whitetips, hammerheads, and silky sharks all in this one trip.
