Launched in Djibouti in 2015 and refurbished in 2018, M/Y Lucy takes divers and snorkelers on fantastic 5-night itineraries to experience the Seven Brothers, Gulf of Tadjourah, and Goubet Al Kharab. Away from the tourist crowds, Djibouti offers an incredibly diverse underwater world that remains unspoiled and pristine. Encounters with Whale Sharks are common from October to February, whilst year-round, there are sightings of dolphins, manta rays, pilot whales, and many shark species. With over 200 species of coral reef and crystal clear waters, a trip aboard MY Lucy offers divers and snorkelers an amazing time.
Topside, MY Lucy has 8 lower deck cabins, 2 main deck cabins, and 2 single cabins to cater to a maximum of 22 guests. Each cabin has an individually controlled AC, a small fridge, and an en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries, including a shaving kit and dental care kit. For relaxation, guests can choose the spacious lounge with a 65″ Ultra HD cinema surround system and contemporary dining area or on the top deck to soak up the sun and breathe in the sea air. Ten whale sharks feeding in one view on a night dive, amazing!!
The crew both dive and boat are as keen as the divers and nothing is to much trouble. The quantity of Whale Sharks on each dive or snorkel. The best night dive ever and a pod of Orca's made a great week.

No safety standards on the vessel Provided tanks and equipment in very poor and unsafe condition Emergency ascend needed in 25m due to broken O-rings Worst liveaboard after 400 dives, not recommended The encounter with 3 whalesharks was great, but it is artificial. They just come in the night because the light of the vessel attracts the plancton and the whalesharks feed.

hard to reach location and good value for the money
Because of weather situation, I was late 1 day in arriving. The captain specially sent a boat back from the near harbor diving location to pick me up. I am grateful that I only missed 1 day of diving. Diving at the Seven Brothers was very interesting.

Reefs and whalesharks
The MY Lucy is the only liveaboard cruising at the Seven Brother Islands, so the reefs are almost untouched. Dolphins, sharks and stingrays will join your dives. Strong currents let you drift along very rich reefs with large schools of fish. The second part of the trip was the gulf of Tadjourah with its murky waters and lots of whalesharks. If you look for a liveaboard away from the crowds, then Lucy is highly recommended.

extraordinary location, away from the (dive)crowds
Diving at 7 brothers is magnificent because the site is untouched, pristine, Because of its isolation only one operator goes there. Visa regulations for Djibouti are a hurdle. Whale shark encounter is a very emotional expirience.
