Highlights
The Okeanos Aggressor II liveaboard was built for comfort and stability to offer year-round diving at the remote islands of Costa Rica. The yacht provides comfortable accommodation for 24 guests in 12 en-suite cabins. Eight deluxe staterooms are located on the lower deck, and there is a double lower bed and twin upper bunk-style bed. On the main deck is the master stateroom with a queen bed, and on the upper deck are two suites that have either two twin beds or one king bed.
On the main deck is the ship's restaurant, where delicious cuisine with a varied and plentiful menu is served. Breakfast and lunches are buffet-style, and dinner is chef-prepared and served each evening. On the top deck is the BBQ and shaded cocktail bar, perfect for unwinding with fellow guests to discuss the spectacular diving of the day. Here, you can also find comfortable loungers to do some tanning in between dives.
The Okeanos II liveaboard departs from Puntarenas, Costa Rica for the 36-hour crossing to Costa Rica. Guests can enjoy up to 21 dives at the UNESCO World Heritage site for the chance of big fish encounters like nowhere else. Aside from the incredible diving, guests will also be taken ashore to hike through the jungles of Cocos and swim in the many waterfalls.

Meh
The liveaboard trip was a mixed experience. Given the significant cost of the trip, I had high hope's particularly for the wildlife encounters that this destination is known for. I understand that El Niño conditions and unusually warm water could affect marine life and that nature is, of course, unpredictable. However, it was still disappointing that we did not see any whale sharks, saw only one manta, and encountered far fewer hammerheads than expected based on how the trip was advertised. Another disappointment was the repeated use of the same dive sites. We were told several times that these were essentially the only options available to us by the Rangers, but many were left wondering whether that was truly the case or whether there were other considerations, such as convenience or logistics. A couple of the sites were particularly underwhelming and did not feel worthwhile given the time and expense involved in getting there. That said, when we did encounter the hammerheads, it was absolutely incredible. Those dives were the highlight of the trip and reminded us why we had chosen this destination in the first place. The crew also worked within the conditions they were given, and we recognize that they cannot control the wildlife or the effects of El Niño. Overall, though, the experience fell short of what I had hoped for and what I felt was represented when I booked the trip. The exceptional hammerhead encounters were unforgettable, but considering the very high price, the limited variety of dive sites and the lack of several of the marquee species made the trip feel disappointing overall. I would recommend that future guests go in with realistic expectations about how much the conditions and site availability can affect the experience.

You're there for the diving, not the vessel
Thoroughly enjoyed this once in a lifetime experience to Cocos but feel the provider is sitting on a monopoly of being on of the few boats that can go to Cocos Island; the most expensive liveaboard I've been on and one of the lowest quality in terms of boat and service

- One of the sharkiest places on earth. Walls of hammerheads, despite El Niño. Varied pelagic life.

Great diving. Great food. Brilliant adventure
Diving was brilliant. Cocos Island is cool, so many waterfalls. The diving was really well organised, the staff on the boat worked really hard. We were worried about the food, as my husband has Coeliacs, but the attention to detail on this was superb, they brought out gluten free options whenever required. Also the staff at Liveaboard.com were great, they jumped straight onto a mix up with my booking, it was really easy to get hold of them on the phone, and the mix up was sorted straight away.

Enchanting island teeming with under the sea life...amazing!
Seeing a Manta Ray, hammerheads, marble rays, spotted eagle rays, a Galapagos shark and the whale shark on Easter morning first dive of the day with dolphins playing in the water when we boarded the panga. Yes, all of this on one dive...spectacular!

Trip of a lifetime
The diving exceeded expectations, the crew was so hospitable and went out of their way to make sure we lacked for nothing, and the food was the best I've ever had on a liveaboard. The only criticism, is that the boat's common areas could use a little updating.
