Perfect for single travelers on a budget, the All Star Blackbeard's Sea Explorer, the identical twin sister of All Star Blackbeard's Morning Star, a member of the All Star Liveaboards Fleet, offers 3 dormitory-style cabin areas with 18 bunks and 3 shared bathrooms. Each cabin area has AC, and all are sectioned off with privacy curtains, similar to a sleeper cabin on a train. There is a choice of double or single bunks. Buffet meals with picnic-style dining are served in the air-conditioned salon, and all meals, snacks, and drinks, including beer, wine, and rum punch, are included during your stay.

All Star Blackbeard's Sea Explorer trips include diving with sharks, exhilarating drift diving, beautiful walls, and blue holes around the Exuma Cays. Overall, the trip was pretty perfect. The staff was very competent and fun. Absolute best crew ever! Love meeting Tim the turtle and finding a sharks tooth after the feed!

Great crew, Great Dive, Great food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My overall experience was an incredible one. The crew was extremely professional and were very adept at handling a couple "experienced" divers that kept chiming in and trying to question or correct what the crew said and did. The crew is obviously extremely competent with their roles and did an amazing job communicating with each other and with the passengers.

Washing machine is a bucket list unique drift dive! Loved the food and the daily sunsets. Overall life at sea was great to test out - will do something like that again for sure!

Awesome Time
Even for someone who likes the water four dives a day and an afternoon swim is alot of water time! Despite some rain the trip was awesome. Lots of animal life. The shark feed had to be the highlight for me. Next the swim throughs. Blue Hole. The crew was awesome and all the fellow divers got along great. Fantastic value for the money.

Great value for money
Although cabins and bathrooms are rustic - still clean and comfortable, the food was amazing and super tasty... Dan, the cook, converts the diving trip also into a foodie tour, serving 3 meals and 2 snacks a day:) Crew was great and always friendly and attentative. even though weather conditions were so so, captain Chris and his team made the best out of it. They brought in as much diving diversity as possible even restrained by limited possibilities due to sea conditions. We had shark feeding, diving through a washing machine, deep dives, wrecks, very vivid night dives etc. The instructor/ dive master Ian is great fun and always happy to help. felt secure and in good hands and all times. Very recomendable dive trip!

You'll never regret booking this trip and I can't wait for my next adventure with this crew!
This was my first live aboard and I was not exactly sure to expect. But Captain Alex and the rest of the crew put me at easy from the time we boarded the Morning Star. Captain Alex fully explained every leg of the journey and I felt completely safe the entire way, even over the rough sea crossings. My goal was to burn some calories with four dives a day, but Garett foiled that plan by supplying 3 awesome meals and great snacks, that I couldn't resist, each day! We all looked forward to the next marvelous selection and were perplexed at the magic Garett created in such a small kitchen space! Candela was the perfect Dive Master and she prepped and executed 27 dives for 19 divers flawlessly. All while teaching Advanced Open Water and Deep Dive Specialty (which I took during the week) at the same time. Each dive was like a new experience, even when we re-visited a location, and I knew what to look for beforehand which made the dive that much more enjoyable. I most enjoyed the shark feeding dive and the drift dive (which we need more than one next time!!) the most. Both were my first experiences with each and I felt safe, knowable about what to do, and maximized the moment for me. Martyna was a great dive guide and first mate, who pointed out a lot of sea life that I would have missed had she not pointed these amazing (and small) creatures to me on dives. Josh kept the Morning Star in tip top shape and we never experienced an issue, so that make him one helluva engineer. We had an eclectic group of divers, but we all blended so well and had a great time together. Every one was helpful, willing to serve as a dive buddy, watched out for each other on dives, had a great time socializing throughout the trip and REALLY took advantage of our last night out on the island when we docked. I would highly recommend booking with Blackbeards, who made the booking easy, follow-ups leading up to my arrival to keep me informed, transportation needs to.from airport/hotel, and was a real value for the money considering everything to received for an entire week! Needless to say that I'm now hooked and will seek to do a live aboard annually! However, it's going to be hard for the next crew to top the experience of this past trip on the Morning Star!

Amazing trip with great dives, amazing food, and a crew that goes above and beyond
I just got back from the Morning Star, and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we boarded until our departure, the crew took care of us exceptionally well. Most of the dives were unguided, but the dive briefings were detailed and extremely helpful, giving us everything we needed to confidently enjoy each site. The crew went above and beyond in every way. The facilities are basic but perfectly adequate, and everything was clean and well-maintained. We did have a little hiccup during the trip and had to return to port, but Captain Alex handled it professionally—giving us a clear download, setting expectations, and making sure we felt safe and cared for. The food on board was incredible, and the daily rum punch was a fun bonus! We even celebrated New Year’s Eve with bubbles, which made the experience even more memorable. Overall, this trip left me a super happy bubble maker with a happy belly—I couldn’t recommend it more!

happy to spend Christmas with the most maxing group of people and crew
This was my first and definitely not last liveaboard trip. The accommodation were basic but comfortable enough. The dives were amazing. But the highlight of the trip is the crew members. They are the coolest group of people who enjoy their jobs. The food was great and we even had awesome snacks in between dives. I highly recommend the Blackbeard sea explorer. Will be back. Oh did I mention we saw a ton of sharks?

The crew were phenomenal at their jobs above and below the water (Annie's smile lights up the room and shes so knowledgeable, Barry is so kind and a great dive instructor, Carson's laugh was contagious, Eli is filled with such positive energy and always willing to help out, Gunnar toiled away tirelessly in the gally making unbelievably delicous food every day, and Cpt. Chris is a salty dog with a heart of gold who made us all feel at ease). All of the crew were very approachable and they all tell great stories, the food was spectacular (thank you Gunnar), the music was on point setting the mood at every time of day, the epic dive sites were well chosen and incredibly fun and easy to dive, the accommodation are close to what you'd expect from a hostle but way better (bunk beds, small/medium size shared dining room/kitchen/lounge inside, open deck for socializing and music and relaxation, delicious rum punch nightly and even a beer tap and wine options), the cleanliness was immaculate and the ship was well maintained. Did I mention that all inside rooms have air conditioning?

New friends, New appreciation, New understandings
The wall dives were my biggest highlight on this trip. Being able to swim in the shallows and then just have the ocean show how mysterious it can be by giving you an endless view into the deepest of blues that you will likely experience. Being able to look down and not know what's there because of the limited but strangely endless view is a rather humbling moment. The crew I had on my trip were just incredible too. Although they act in the most professional manner as required to mitigate the risks associated with this trip, they balance this out perfectly with their friendly demeanour, making you laugh, addressing any concerns you may have and ultimately actually becoming your friend by the end of the trip. It would have been an entirely different trip if the crew had been purely a boat crew only.

First Liveaboard
This was my first Liveaboard, it's like camping at sea, and the dives were not guided, which was a little surprising, however I had an amazing time. The crew were knowledgeable and helpful, the chef excellent, and the best element was meeting people from all over the world and making friends for life.

A little cramped and basic however comfortable and facilities kept very clean. Great food, plentiful, well prepared, delicious and nutritious. Great comaraderie made friends for life!.

There is no better liveaboard value afloat.
We did 19 dives and it's hard to pick favorites but the shark feeding dive was a bucket list caliber experience. The night dives were exceptional. The washing machine drift dive was a once in a lifetime experience. The part of the experience was meeting the crew and other divers. All were great and made the trip memorable.

The best bang for your buck
This is a great diver's liveaboard experience. You have everything you need and no extra fuss or mess. You get about 4 dives per day and the locations are excellent. The crew works hard to make your trip an excellent experience. They have almost everything you need on that 65 foot boat. On my trip there divers of all levels from Open Water to Instructors. The dive sites were for all levels also. If you like to prep, dive, rest and repeat this boat and trip is for you.

Summer camp for adults
I was nervous going on this trip as a 48 yr old solo female, not knowing anyone. But it was great, there was a range of ages all interested in diving. Tyrone was a great instructor for my deep specialty. Morgan could steer the sailboat through anything. What Gunner could turn out of that tiny galley was fantastic, we ate well. Mike kept everything running and always ready to help. Sheena was very happy and helpful. I dove with sharks and rays. Fed the pigs and stingrays, walked on beautiful beaches. Caught a fish and watched the sails go up. It was a great trip.

Blackbeards truly IS the Best of the Bahamas!
The "Washing Machine" dive, the Shark Feed dive, and the impromptu underwater magic show! I've been on a lot of different liveaboards over the past few years, and Blackbeard's is the best in overall diving and fun! We will definitely be booking again!
