“The crew were fantastic and did everything to keep guests comfortable, safe and make the trip thoroughly enjoyable. ”
Highlights
Join the Blackbeard's Sea Explorer to dive into the crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas. Perfect for single travelers on a budget, the Blackbeard's Sea Explorer, the identical twin sister of Blackbeard's Morning Star, a member of the Blackbeard's Fleet, offers 3 dormitory-style cabin areas with 18 bunks and 3 shared bathrooms. Each cabin area has AC, and all are sectioned off with privacy curtains, similar to a sleeper cabin on a train. There is a choice of double or single bunks. Buffet meals with picnic-style dining are served in the air-conditioned salon, and all meals, snacks, and drinks, including beer, wine, and rum punch, are included during your stay.
Blackbeard's Sea Explorer trips include diving with sharks, exhilarating drift diving, beautiful walls, and blue holes around the Exuma Cays. There is no set itinerary aboard the Sea Explorer liveaboard; the captain and crew will take the boat where the conditions and weather are best. Plenty of non-diving activities are on offer, so your time above the water will be just as memorable as below.
Book online to reserve your space aboard Blackbeard's Sea Explore liveaboard, or call us today.
Please Note: Morning Star and Sea Explorer are identical twin sisters and may be used interchangeably. Whilst we can take requests for specific bunks, they are not guaranteed, and the rate is per person, not per bunk.
This boat is part of the All Star Liveaboards fleet.

very good but understand the limitations before signing up.
I really enjoyed it. You have to know what you’re signing up for… the boat is super basic and super cramped. We had 13 guests on board… apparently it can take 24. With 24 it would not work well. Anyway the crew is great and it is a good time. Diving is meh to quite good. Food is good. If you’re solo this is the trip to take. If you’re going as a couple then spend more and choose a different boat. My two cents

First time diving leading to a life changing experience
My first time diving after getting certified at a lake! An easy, yet exciting destination if you've done well with the basics. It was an awesome adventure, I learned a lot about myself and what I wanted out of life. Had amazing memories with the most interesting and kind people. Saw insane wildlife that I thought I'd never see in my life. It was surreal at times. I got AOW certified by Candela Ferrara and she was a great teacher, I felt like I really improved my buoyancy because of her. I can't wait for another journey like this. I'll be going on one again soon!

First & Best Liveaboard Experience!
I never been on a liveaboard before and this just made my whole year! The crew was exceptionally knowledgeable about the boat and dive sites, and kept us safe even when the wind picked up. We did miss a few dives due to weather, but that didn't take away from any experience - the crew provided us amazing services and there were many solo divers whom we all became friends with - the entire boat felt like one big happy family and it was an amazing experience overall!

The diving, food and people were all amazing! I would recommend Blackbeards to anyone.
It was my first time on a liveaboard and I loved it! The staff and other passengers were great, and the shark diving was absolutely incredible. The blue hole was the coolest dive site I’ve ever done.

Impossible to get more on a trip!
The crew on Blackbeards Sea Explorer were phenomenal! Brian did great briefings. Iain took us to amazing spots with our safety always in mind. Justing gave us the VIP treatment with great stories, Elayna was a joy to be around, and Chris was a blast and worked hard to keep everything running. Also, Gladys cooked amazing food and was a ton of fun to be around! Only thing I could recommend in the future would be a Margarita machine but that's it. Can't wait to come back!

Time of my life, I will be returning. Thank you Cpt. Chris!!
The crew were phenomenal at their jobs above and below the water (Annie's smile lights up the room and shes so knowledgeable, Barry is so kind and a great dive instructor, Carson's laugh was contagious, Eli is filled with such positive energy and always willing to help out, Gunnar toiled away tirelessly in the gally making unbelievably delicous food every day, and Cpt. Chris is a salty dog with a heart of gold who made us all feel at ease). All of the crew were very approachable and they all tell great stories, the food was spectacular (thank you Gunnar), the music was on point setting the mood at every time of day, the epic dive sites were well chosen and incredibly fun and easy to dive, the accommodation are close to what you'd expect from a hostle but way better (bunk beds, small/medium size shared dining room/kitchen/lounge inside, open deck for socializing and music and relaxation, delicious rum punch nightly and even a beer tap and wine options), the cleanliness was immaculate and the ship was well maintained. Did I mention that all inside rooms have air conditioning?

New friends, New appreciation, New understandings
The wall dives were my biggest highlight on this trip. Being able to swim in the shallows and then just have the ocean show how mysterious it can be by giving you an endless view into the deepest of blues that you will likely experience. Being able to look down and not know what's there because of the limited but strangely endless view is a rather humbling moment. The crew I had on my trip were just incredible too. Although they act in the most professional manner as required to mitigate the risks associated with this trip, they balance this out perfectly with their friendly demeanour, making you laugh, addressing any concerns you may have and ultimately actually becoming your friend by the end of the trip. It would have been an entirely different trip if the crew had been purely a boat crew only.
