Wonderful SCUBA diving and eating! Repeat 4 or 5 times a day. Awesome sites! Warm nights made it difficult to sleep. Probably 78 degrees and up. Luckily, They had a fan for me.

The washing machine drift dive was really fun!

Everything about my trip was extraordinary, especially the crew, it was a great adventure !

The highlights of my trip involved the incredible amount of caring, support and goodwill that the crew exhibited during the entire trip...this involved all aspects ranging from the diving, accommodations, and food. Amazing Diving Trip

Saw everything we could reasonably expect to see this time of year. Crew was fantastic and did their best to give us a great trip despite the weather. Food was consistently excellent with a very diverse menu. Highly recommend, have already booked a different itinerary with the same boat.

Great staff with solid diving

Highlights of the trip include night dive at Barracuda Shoals, marine park dives (wish we spent more time there), and Austin Smith wreck dives. Nassau is not nice. I would recommend minimizing time on land and plan to fly out the day you get off the boat. Weather did not cooperate on this trip but the staff did the best they could and they were great in every aspect.

Mediocre Experience

Overall, the diving was mediocre. I had been to Nassau a couple of years ago and the diving was superb, so I did have high expectations. However, the diving in the Exumas was not great. There were highlights, of course. We did see a hammerhead and a tiger shark and there were reef sharks, a couple of nurse sharks and a few turtles. But, overall, there simply weren't many varieties of fish nor an abundance of fish in general. Maybe it was just bad luck/bad timing. The boat and dive crew were nice, but not particularly friendly. We also got chewed out by the captain of the boat because some of us went deeper than 100' on a few dives. The captain said that was the rule on the Bahamas Aggressor and that if anyone did it again, they'd be banned from diving for the rest of the trip. When I checked the Know Before You Go on the Aggressor website, that rule does not exist. The rule that does exist states you can't dive beyond your certification. Those of us who went to greater than 100' were instructors and/or tech certified divers. What made it more interesting is that after that "chewing out," we never again went to a site where it was even possible to go even close to 100'. So not only were we chewed out for an arbitrary rule that no one had known about, it was a moot point since we didn't go to any other deep sites. I should also note that on dive previous to the one where we got chewed out, I was asked by one of the DMs to watch my depth as he was concerned newer dives might follow me deeper than their certification would allow (note: I never went deeper than 120' and I am a PADI MSDT Instructor). Again, arbitrariness. I will also note that not all of the dive guides dive with DSMBs, which is a minimal safety standard, I would think, for a dive guide....especially with so many of the divers not having DSMBs. There was also a dive where one of the dive guides led the dive in a such a way as not to get lost, per se, but did require that he surfaced to navigate, which can happen to anyone, of course, but he took everyone so far off of course that there was one out of air diver and many had to ascend and take a long surface swim back to the boat. Also, I picked up on a quite some tension amongst the dive team and between the dive team and the captain. This wasn't all of the time, but it was a little uncomfortable and something I've never witnessed on any previous liveaboards. On a positive note, food and dining service was superb. The interior of the boat was freezing cold with AC blowing despite extremely chilly weather. Apparently the cold blowing air is required for some reason. Great in the summer, but way too cold for our trip. As I re-read my review, I am sure it would be easy to conclude that I am a negative person. But I have never had one bad thing to say after any previous liveaboard experience or dive adventure. I hope these criticisms are taken instructively.

Great vacation experience easily accessible from USA to Nassau

Very relaxing and fun vacation in the Bahamas during Late August/Early September - chose this trip for its proximity to the east coast and ease of getting in and out. Stayed in an AirBnb nearby the dock for the first night prior to boarding. Underway, the dives were interesting, water was clear and warm, and we successfully navigated around any bad weather, just got gently sprinkled on once or twice. Never wore more than a rashguard and swim trunks in the water, never got uncomfortably cold on the boat in shorts and a tee shirt. Saw tons of reef sharks, wrecks, rays, and fish, I was definitely satisfied, but full disclosure is that this was my first liveaboard and some of the more experienced passengers were a bit less impressed, I think. I booked solo and stayed in the four-person quad which was close quarters, but quite comfortable for my needs - cheaper, and there's plenty of room to lounge around the ship if you need more space. Don't hesitate to go it alone - you'll make friends! Really only went down below to change clothes or sleep. Even at 6'2", I was comfortable in the beds. Even though I wasn't expecting them to be, the photos were exactly how the ship looks and feels inside. Never went hungry, with three delicious meals a day and tasty snacks in between the 4-5 dives per day and hot chocolate at the end. The chef was very accommodating and made amazing vegetarian meals for me. The other passengers always ended up requesting what I was having when they saw the dishes brought out. Staff were great. Spent one last day at the end of the trip on shore in Nassau on Paradise Island and went to Atlantis for the waterpark and resort - would recommend!

The crew tried their best, but we found out they were one man short, didn't have the usual cook, and 20' beginner reefs just got boring (blackbeards was doing wall dives while we were in the shallows)

The few deeper dives/wall dives we did were fun, and had lots of potential, but we only did a single (two if we were lucky) dive at any of them. We spent a lot of time at 20-30' deep sites....The blue hole would have been great, but we waited till the last day and the viz was under 15' so you couldn't see anything....we should have done this one earlier in the week when the weather was better, it could have been an epic dive in better conditions. If I was the captain, I would have used the chase boat (zodiac) to my advantage. All the divers did a lot of swimming to and from sites, which would leave us perhaps 10 - 20 min time exploring the wall, and another 30-40min finding the site/finding where the boat swung to after the dive. My Girlfriend got her advanced open water course completed, and her instructor (Manx Dave) was really awesome as a teacher, and just to hang out with between dives. He was a real hard worker. The rest of the crew was great, but we found out they were short a man, and unfortunately one guy was on his first week with the boat, and the regular chef had to take the week off. The food was still good, but not quite at the same level as other liveaboards I've been on. We did a shark dive on a wreck, but they only put a single fish in the bucket, so the action was kinda limited. I've done lots of shark dives (Tiger Beach trip with SDM, Bull Sharks in Cancun, Hammers in Bimini), and this one just didn't stack up even close to those. There was lots of coral to see, and some sites had nice swim through just seemed like the animals that were advertised (eagle rays, saw few sharks, no big schools of fish) just were not there. This might be because we spent the majority of the trip outside the protected park area perhaps. Overall, the trip was OK, but some better planning of where to go on what days would have gone a long way. We had a ton of experienced divers aboard, and a lot of us agreed that the dives were beginner level.

Great on board service and good diving

It as a good trip. We were not very lucky with the weather and having the AC on during the cold was a bit odd. Diving was good, but again we were unlucky with the large stuff. The crew was amazing when a squall came up unexpectedly and got everyone back on board at significant risk to themselves. While I expect some divers appreciate the freedom, we vastly prefer the model where a dive master, familiar with the site, leads a group of 6-8 divers. On this boat, navigation is mostly left up to the individual diver which we find unnecessarily stressful. Having to secure our bathroom door with a bungy cord and having to store our suitcases in an already crowded cabin was also a bummer and not up to standards on other boats.

Very good Crew

The Crew was excellent, and so was their service. The Chef David prepared delicious food, and soups. We got into a Squall and had two divers in the water and the captain and crew performed in the finest professional manner, getting them safely back on board in over 50 mph winds and over 8 foot swells. Some wanted the DMs to do more leading on the dives--only because they know better than us where the critters are hiding. We didn't see nearly as much underwater life as I expected. What saved the underwater part of the trip was the large numbers of Caribbean Reef Sharks--I got great shots of them. Make sure everyone who goes in late December and in January knows to bring sweatshirts and jackets, for it was pretty cool and windy.

The Highlights: Sharks and Swimming Pigs

My husband and I went on the Caribe Dancer the end of November 2015. The routing covered some of the Exumas and Eleuthrea dive sites. We found the crew excellent. Captain Dennis did his best to accommodate all guest requests for special dive sites including a trip to see the swimming pigs at Pig Beach. Chef Shay kept everyone well fed and adhered to special dietary requests of all the guests. Jason, Gabby and Celeste - the other 3 boat crew were friendly and helpful. The target was to offer up to 5 dives per day and every diver was allowed to dive their tank to 750 psi. A dive guide was in the water on every dive but you were allowed to dive your own profile. All of the dives were from the boat that was anchored or moored and that's where you started and ended your dive. There was a dinghy to be used for pickups if needed. My two complaints: 1) We did not receive the cabin far away from the engine noise that was promised at booking (fault of Aggressor Fleet reservations, they switched us to Cabin 6- right next to the engine room - horribly noisy when motoring) and 2) there was a problem with the air conditioning and the cabins and dining area were cold the whole trip (so cold we had to wear light jackets in the dining room)and tape up our aircon vents in the cabin). Despite these two problems, I still recommend this trip. Just make sure that if you request a specific cabin that Aggressor Fleet reservations notes in your file that you should not be moved.
