Great diving, appalling accomodation.
The good news: crew, diving and food were all fabulous. The reef exceeded my expectations for health and variety of corals and marine life. The bad news: the cabin to which I was assigned needs to be condemned. When you open the door, you are assailed by a strong smell of mildew. This is no wonder as this cabin is always wet: everywhere. There is no separate shower stall in the tiny bathroom. There is no pan to hold in the water. The shower head is on the ceiling in front of the sink and toilet. As a result, the floor is always wet. You cannot enter the bathroom without getting your feet soaked. As you leave the bathroom, there is no way to dry them unless you do it on the cabin carpet which is badly water stained with multiple attempted replacement patches. With two people in the cabin, the carpet is always soaked. I tried putting my towel outside the bathroom to dry my feet but the floor of the bathroom leaches rust stains which are also on your wet feet so the towel ended up soaked and with rust stains. And this is not a liveaboard which gives you dry towels every day. You have to use your own. Water pours off the air conditioner in streams right over an electrical outlet onto a dresser which is completely water stained and down to the carpet below. I hung a barely damp shirt in the cabin one night and in the morning, it was completely soaked. There is a wall vent in the wall to the hallway which is about 8” in diameter, so you have an 8” diameter spotlight on your bed all night. You can close the bunk curtain which is a nice feature but then you get no A/C and your sleeping space is always damp and hot. Also, beware, this dive operator does not gender match cabin mates. I was very surprised to find a man in my cabin. It is a very awkward situation as you can’t change in the bathroom because it is so wet. The man I shared with was absolutely lovely and considerate but still, it is awkward. I’m quite stunned that the operator would allow a cabin to be so alarmingly bad. So, while I certainly enjoyed the diving, for the first time ever on a liveaboard, I couldn’t wait to get off and into a dry hotel room. And I would not dive this operator again.

Open deck diving with an awesome crew that makes the diving.
Diving in the middle of nowhere with no crowds just us. Excellent hard coral everywhere, beautiful color and natural lighting. Liveaboard with a crew for detail and open deck diving. Epic distance covered.

Superb diving on a boat made for diving that allows you to dive to your heart's content.
Spoilsport is a boat made for divers. The open deck dive policy is one of the best I've seen where you can go and explore with your buddy on your own dive plans and dive durations. The crew goes out of there way to make the experience pleasant. All this on top of fantastic diving in well flourishing sparsely visited portions of the Great Barrier Reef.

An extremely professional and safety conscious liveaboard
I loved how all the staff worked together as a team. They were constantly on the go making sure all our needs were catered for. Constantly double checking everyone is accounted for and catered for with the dives (guided or self-guided).

Perfect once in a lifetime Minke Whale trip
The Minke Whales were the highlight of course. But I also enjoyed the BBQ on the last night and how organized and smoothly everything ran.
