Pro Dive Cairns offers excellent value for money liveaboard diving to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, Australia, aboard the M/V ScubaPro I, II, or III. Perfect for the budget and time-conscious diver, the fully-equipped ScubaPro liveaboards are identical purpose-built dive boats designed to handle all the varying weather conditions to offer a smooth and comfortable journey to the Great Barrier Reef. There are 14 centrally controlled air-conditioned twin-share bunk-bed cabins and 2 double-bed cabins. The main deck is the hub of the boat with a large indoor salon and dining room, where meals are served, including a fully cooked hot/cold breakfast, hot and cold lunches, and hot dinner. Snacks, water, tea, and coffee are available throughout the day. The top deck has a spacious sun deck, allowing plenty of room for relaxation.
Aboard the M/V ScubaPro liveaboards, guests will explore the incredible marine biodiversity of the outer Great Barrier Reef at locations explicitly chosen for their visibility and marine life quality. Up to 11 dives are available, including 2-night dives during the 2-night/3-day diving and snorkeling itinerary. The spacious dive deck at the back of the boat offers individual gear storage and ample room for kitting up. Nitrox is also available for those certified. Japanese-speaking staff is available on Saturday departures, and German-speaking staff is available on Thursday and Sunday.

The most peaceful and beautiful trip I ever took!!
It was absolutely perfect! The conditions, the crew, the people onboard, everything lined up! I really loved the vibes and loved how it was organized. To have classes onboard I was scared they would getting in my way in my experience but that wasn’t the case! It was perfectly mapped out and I saw so much wildlife! As a student studying marine biology I highly recommend this trip where you go to site they no other boats are at! It was so peaceful and the lack of tourist everywhere made the experience that much better!

Everything provided by ProDive and Liveboard was of the highest quality. Friendly crew, excellent organization, tasty food. The locations for dives and snorkeling were beautiful. All steps, from booking to leaving Cairns, were easy and nice.

Great Crew, tough conditions in early May
The crew did a great job despite rough sea conditions for our early May trip. Parker (dive leader), Carla (skipper) and the dive instructors Sarah, Manuel, and the rest of the crew did a great job trying to make sure we had a good experience despite ongoing rain and chop. The food was tasty and plentiful. The ship was clean and well kept.

My experience with Prodive Cairns was INCREDIBLE. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. Even when the waters were rocky, they were very supportive and made sure all of the guests were comfortable. The experience catered well to everyone regardless of experience which was an overall plus. Cannot recommend enough!!! I will be doing this again.

Cool, affordable cruise
Really enjoyed my diving experience, and met some amazing people. Obviously the best part is the scuba diving experience - they really squeeze in a lot of time. I do have some feedback - I am disappointed that all the marketing materials (specifically for the 4-day learn to scuba guides) say you have 11 dives. But that is patently false - you only have 9 dives if you are doing the learn-to-scuba cruise, because you can only do 2 (instead of 4) dives the first day since you aren't yet certified. Plus, I wish they explained scuba jail better - we know not to go below 18m but not what happens if we accidentally do. Still, fantastic trip and great value. I got unlucky with not the best buddy, so I would recommend going with a trustworthy friend rather than solo.

Pro dive is the best company for an amazing scuba experience!
The staff was amazing! They were readily available to answer questions and provide helpful tips. They were willing to guide dives when needed and gave valuable advice to see the best things on our dives! We saw so many cool animals and plants and had an amazing time.

Wonderful dive sites and excellent food onboard.
This was my first live aboard experience and time in Australia. I chose Pro Dive Cairns because they had great reviews and were very reasonably priced. A 3 day / 2 night trip was the perfect amount of time to be able to experience the reef. I completed 9 out of the 11 dives available. Pros: The food was amazing. The cook on board the ship was doing a trial run with another crew member and they both did fantastic. Variety of food available for all dietary preferences and allergies was available with different home made desserts every day The crew was very knowledgeable and friendly. I didn’t interact too much with any of the instructors as I wasn’t taking any courses, but they were always available if I had a question. Dive site briefings were very detailed with visual aids. Bathroom facilities were plentiful and the hot showers to rinse after every dive were definitely appreciated. Nitrox and gear set ups available were well organized and great to use. Cons: I was in a cabin at the bow of the boat right next to two restrooms. I don’t know the cause, but my little room smelled like open sewer. It was so awful that my crew member bunkmate chose to sleep in the salon on the benches instead of the room. I powered through with the help of febreeze, a nose plug and sleeping medication. I cannot stress enough how bad the smell was. No dive guides. As someone who’s only ever been diving with a local instructor/guide on each previous dive, being told a heading and then sent on my way was very nerve wracking. My dive group got horribly lost on the first night dive going down and ended up a quarter mile in the wrong direction. Having the option of guided dives for divers not trying for certifications would have made it much better. Over all, I really enjoyed my experience with Pro Dive Cairns and would recommend them for anyone who wants to get their certifications to get extra attention and a personalized experience on the Great Barrier Reef.
