Pro Dive Cairns offers excellent value for money liveaboard diving to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, Australia, aboard the M/V ScubaPro I, II, or III. Perfect for budget- and time-conscious divers, the fully equipped ScubaPro liveaboards are identical, purpose-built dive boats designed to handle all varying weather conditions, offering a smooth and comfortable journey to the Great Barrier Reef. There are 14 centrally controlled air-conditioned twin-share bunk-bed cabins and 2 double-bed cabins.
The main deck is the hub of the boat, featuring a large indoor salon and dining room where meals are served, including a fully cooked hot/cold breakfast, hot and cold lunches, and a hot dinner. Snacks, water, tea, and coffee are available throughout the day. The top deck features a spacious sun deck, providing ample room for relaxation.
Aboard the M/V ScubaPro liveaboards, guests will explore the incredible marine biodiversity of the outer Great Barrier Reef at locations specifically chosen for their exceptional visibility and high-quality marine life. Up to 11 dives are available, including 2-night dives during the 2-night/3-day diving and snorkeling itinerary. The spacious dive deck at the back of the boat offers individual gear storage and ample room for kitting up. Nitrox is also available for those certified.

Would Go Back Again and Again
Can’t really say enough about how much I enjoyed this trip. Our crew really cared that we enjoy our experience. The food was good and plentiful (as was the coffee, thank you). The reef was spectacular and was, of course, the star of the show. I’d say that Pro Dive Cairns exceeded my expectations.

Great value Liveaboard to experience the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef
This was a wonderful experience on the Great Barrier Reef on a reasonably appointed vessel. It is not a luxury Liveaboard, but the price reflects that. Our cruise was about 50% backpackers highlighting the target audience - people seeking good value and great experiences. The good - the crew was excellent. Kevin our dive supervisor was the highlight with a great sense of humor and providing good details during the dive briefings. The food was good and there was definitely plenty to not go hungry at any point. The dive sites were great and offered a nice variety of coral viewing and wildlife. Everything on the vessel was working well and was well maintained. Doing 11 dives in 3 days is an intense schedule, but very much worthwhile. The not so good - the vessel, particularly the diving deck and during meal times feels a bit crowded with 32 divers on board. The seating on the top deck was very basic, and there was not enough seating for everyone. The cabins are small, however you do not spend a lot of time in them aside for sleeping. The bunks are not particularly comfortable, but they are functional. Despite the listing showing Free Internet - it was never offered and not available. While it did not bother me and it was not the reason I booked this Liveaboard, just wanted to point out the inconsistency with the listing.

My trip with Pro Dive Cairns 3-day live aboard on the Great Barrier Reef was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, the crew delivered an experience that was professional, warm, and truly memorable. The diving was absolutely amazing—easily the best I’ve ever done. Crystal-clear visibility, vibrant coral gardens, and an abundance of marine life made every dive unique. Whether it was sunrise dives full of color or magical night dives filled with curious creatures, each moment felt like stepping into a whole new world. The dive briefings were thorough, the gear was in great condition, and the dive sites were chosen with care to give us the best possible conditions. And the food… just fantastic. Every meal exceeded expectations. Fresh, flavorful, and plentiful—exactly what you need after a long day underwater. From hearty breakfasts to delicious dinners and snacks in between, the kitchen crew did an outstanding job keeping everyone happy and energized. The accommodation was comfortable, the atmosphere on board was friendly and relaxed, and the entire crew made the experience feel seamless and safe. If you’re considering a liveaboard on the Great Barrier Reef, don’t hesitate—Pro Dive is exceptional. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

I’d say this was once-in-a-lifetime but it was so amazing I will be doing it again for sure.
This was a truly transformative trip on which I did things and met people I’ll never forget (and hopefully do and meet again!). The Pro Dive team is unbelievably amazing and we always felt safe, informed and having a great time.
