Built in 1998, the Xavier III combines comfort and good service with good value for an intimate small ship cruise around the splendid Galapagos Islands. The boat has eight roomy cabins, each with a private bathroom and air conditioning. Those on the upper deck have a window, whilst those on the lower deck have a port hole. Whether you want to relax or socialise with other guests, the spacious common areas will give you what you’re looking for. The rear deck is ideal for soaking up the sights and you can enjoy the sunshine on the sun deck. There’s a large salon with a bar, and you can sink your teeth into tasty local and international cuisine in the spacious dining room. Daily briefings and the onboard naturalist really help you to appreciate the fascinating wildlife and stunning landscapes. Onboard equipment includes free-to-use snorkelling gear and wetsuits.

Join an adventure around the Galapagos aboard the Xavier III, with fabulous trips available for ten, 14, and 21 days. Domestic flights to and from Ecuador’s capital of Quito are included in the cruise rates, and the price also includes a hotel stay in Quito at the start of the tour. Highlights of the ten-day cruise include Black Turtle Cove, Santa Fé Island, Mosquera Island, and Santiago Island, with heaps of nature-spotting opportunities and water activities. The 14-day expedition combines the splendours of the Galapagos Islands with ancient Inca sites along the Inca Trail in Peru, including the “lost city” of Machu Picchu. For the ultimate discovery, the 21-day trip encompasses the biodiversity of the Galapagos and the history of Peru’s Inca Trail.

The warm and welcoming team members on the Xavier III are ready and raring to go, ensuring you have a fantastic cruise to boast about. Don’t miss out; call us or book online to guarantee your chosen dates.

7-Day Land and Sea: Cheap but not much value

The Galapagos are beautiful and this is one of the few instances where we would consider a guided cruise given that there are only a few places to stay on the archipelago and the majority of sites are accessible only by boat. However, of the seven days of this trip, we spent only one night outside a populated area/harbor, so the benefits of this trip over a cheaper DIY experience involving day trips from Puerto Ayora and Puerto Baquerizo Moreno seem minimal.
