Wilderness Explorer, Alaska

In service since 1976, the Wilderness Explorer was fully renovated in 2011. There are 37 cabins in total, catering to up to a maximum of 74 guests per trip, with a choice of three cabin types. All rooms are en suite with air conditioning, a window, and a TV/DVD player. The communal areas are welcoming, with a spacious, well-lit dining room, a lounge with a bar and all-round windows, a sun deck, an observation area, and a rooftop hot tub. Find inner balance and harmony and have a go at yoga; mats are available. There is fitness equipment on board for you to use, and the boat carries a good selection of adventure equipment, such as kayaks, skiffs, and walking poles. Experience more of Alaska’s nature thanks to the underwater camera and hydrophone.

Board the Wilderness Explorer for a memorable voyage of discovery around Alaska. Various itineraries are available, sailing 7 to 14 nights. See a fascinating selection of wildlife - bears, whales, sea otters, mountain goats, seals, and sea lions, and dramatic scenery. Depending on the itinerary you choose, highlights may include Glacier Bay National Park, Misty Fjords National Monument, Behm Canal, Tongass National Forest, and the islands of Baranof, Chichagof, and South Marble.

The professional expedition guides and crew on the Wilderness Explorer extend a warm welcome to all passengers and do their best to ensure a pleasant and memorable cruise. Complete your booking without delay to guarantee your dates; call us or book online.

Fabulous crew, sites visited, excursions. Hated room!

Young whale breaching about 40 times in 40 minutes. Maze of icebergs floating in glacial lake.

An absolutely awesome experience!

The organization of the activity leader in preparing our schedules for some fabulous activities allowed us to enjoy the best Alaska has to offer and still have time to relax. We loved the people, wait staff, guides not to mention. food and beverages. We were always informed of updates with schedules and events happening during our stay. We highly recommend this cruise company and hope to travel with them another time.

Premier experience, great value, expectations exceeded in every area.

1. The authenticity of the staff. Although young, they were professional, experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic about their work, their boat and each other. 2. Dedication to cleanliness and COVID protocols. It was difficult, but everyone in the entire staff worked hard to protect themselves and the passengers. 3. The seamless experience. From high end food, inclusive drinks, high adventure excursions- it all moved effortlessly.
